Chapter Fifty (פֶּרֶק חֲמִשִּׁים)

The secret of the enlargement of Ze’ir Anpin was through the three joints of the Netzach, Hod, and Yesod of Tevunah (סוֹד הַגְדָּלָתוֹ שֶׁל זְעִיר אַנְפִּין הָיָה מִשְּׁלֹשָׁה פְּרָקִים דְּנה״י שֶׁל תְּבוּנָה), which enter into Ze’ir Anpin and fill him (הַנִּכְנָסִים לְתוֹךְ ז״א וּמְמַלְּאִים אוֹתוֹ), so that each Middah should have three thirds (שֶׁיִּהְיֶה לְכָל מִדָּה ג׳ שְׁלִישִׁים), as will be explained (כְּמוֹ שֶׁיָּבוֹא). And this is the meaning of what our Rabbis of blessed memory said (וְזֶהוּ אוֹמְרָם זַ״ל), “This fullness is one third” (הַאי גּוּדְשָׁא תִּילְתָא הוּא) (Shabbat 35a). And in order that you should understand this matter well and not err (וּכְדֵי שֶׁתָּבִין הָעִנְיָן הַזֶּה הֵיטֵב שֶׁלֹּא תִּטְעֶה), I shall draw for you the form in its likeness and in its image (אֲצַיֵּר לְךָ הַצּוּרָה בִּדְמוּתָהּ וּבְצַלְמָהּ), as it ought to be (כְּמוֹ שֶׁצָּרִיךְ לִהְיוֹת), “the wise man shall hear and increase learning” (יִשְׁמַע חָכָם וְיוֹסֶף לֶקַח) (Proverbs 1:5), from this form (מִזֹּאת הַצּוּרָה):
