Chapter Fifty-Four (פֶּרֶק חֲמִשִּׁים וְאַרְבָּעָה)

Ze’ir Anpin was made through this growth (זְעֵיר אַנְפִּין נַעֲשָׂה עַל יְדֵי הַגִּידּוּל הַזֶּה), into a son of nine attributes (בֶּן תֵּשַׁע מִדּוֹת), and from that influence (וּמֵאוֹתָהּ הַהַשְׁפָּעָה), which was raising the joints upward and returning them (שֶׁהָיְתָה מַעֲלָה הַפְּרָקִים לְמַעְלָה וּמַחֲזִירָתָם), they illuminated through their backs to his Nukvah (הֵאִירוּ דֶּרֶךְ אֲחוֹרֵיהֶם לְנוּקְבֵיהּ), and six attributes were made for her (וְנַעֲשׂוּ לָהּ שֵׁשׁ מִדּוֹת). However (אָמְנָם), she has no Mochin (מוֹחִין לֵית לָהּ), and therefore (וְלָזֶה), the Netzach, Hod, Yesod of Imma extended themselves (נִתְפַּשְּׁטוּ נה"י שֶׁל אִמָּא), and lengthened until the Netzach, Hod, Yesod of Ze’ir (וְנִתְאָרְכוּ עַד נה"י שֶׁל זְעֵיר), thus it follows (נִמְצָא), that the vessels of Netzach and Hod of Ze’ir (שֶׁכְּלֵי נ"ה שֶׁל זְעֵיר), also contain within them the illumination of the Netzach, Hod, Yesod from Imma (יֵשׁ בְּתוֹכָם גַּם כֵּן הֶאָרַת נה"י מֵאִמָּא), but Yesod did not reach there (וִיסוֹד לֹא הִגִּיעַ לְשָׁם), because it is short (מִפְּנֵי שֶׁהוּא קָצָר), as we explained (כְּמוֹ שֶׁבֵּאַרְנוּ). And from that additional illumination (וּמֵאוֹתָהּ הַהֶאָרָה הַיְּתֵרָה), that was in the Netzach and Hod of Ze’ir (שֶׁהָיְתָה בְּנֶצַח הוֹד דְּזְעֵיר), it entered into his Yesod (נִכְנַס בִּיסוֹדוֹ), and the Yesod sent that illumination (וְהַיְסוֹד שָׁלַח אוֹתָהּ הַהֶאָרָה), through the opening in the chest of Ze’ir (דֶּרֶךְ הַחוֹר שֶׁבֶּחָזֶה שֶׁבִּזְעֵיר), to the head of his Nukvah (לְרֹאשׁ נוּקְבֵיהּ), by way of Ohr Chozer [returning light] (דֶּרֶךְ אוֹר חוֹזֵר), and they entered into the head of the Nukvah (וְנִכְנְסוּ לְרֹאשׁ נוּקְבָא), and Mochin were made for her (וְנַעֲשׂוּ לָהּ מוֹחִין), thus behold (הֲרֵי), Ze’ir and his Nukvah are complete (זְעֵיר וְנוּקְבֵיהּ שְׁלֵמִים), with nine attributes for each one (מִן ט' מִדּוֹת לְכָל אֶחָד), namely (דְּהַיְינוּ), Chokhmah, Binah, Da’at, Gedulah, Gevurah, Tiferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod (חב"ד גג"ת נה"י). And still the Keter of Ze’ir and the Keter of his Nukvah were not made (וַעֲדַיִן כֶּתֶר זְעֵיר וְכֶתֶר נוּקְבֵיהּ לֹא נַעֲשׂוּ), until the supernal lights of the two Atarot [crowns] enter (עַד שֶׁנִּכְנָסִים אוֹרוֹת עוֹדְפִים שֶׁל תְּרֵין עֲטָרִין), namely (דְּהַיְינוּ), of the five Chasadim and the five Gevurot (שֶׁל ה' חֲסָדִים וְה' גְּבוּרוֹת), and from some of them the Keter of Ze’ir is built (וּקְצָת מֵהֶם נִבְנֶה מִמֶּנּוּ כֶּתֶר זְעֵיר), and from some of them the Keter of his Nukvah is built (וּקְצָת מֵהֶם נִבְנֶה מִמֶּנּוּ כֶּתֶר נוּקְבֵיהּ), as will be explained (כְּמוֹ שֶׁיִּתְבָּאֵר). May Hashem illuminate for us (אֵל־יְהוָ"ה יָאִיר לָנוּ), to understand the mysteries of the Torah according to their proper arrangement (לְהָבִין רָזֵי תוֹרָה עַל מַתְכּוּנְתָּם), and may it be fulfilled in us (וִיקֻיָּם בָּנוּ), “And the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of Hashem, as the waters cover the sea” (וּמָלְאָה הָאָרֶץ דֵּעָה אֶת יְהוָ"ה כַּמַּיִם לַיָּם מְכַסִּים) (Isaiah 11:9). Blessed is Hashem forever (בָּרוּךְ יְיָ לְעוֹלָם). Amen and Amen (אָמֵן וְאָמֵן).
