Chapter Seventy-Four (פֶּרֶק שִׁבְעִים וְאַרְבָּעָה)

And now (וְעַתָּה), “after Hashem has made all this known to you” (אַחֲרֵי הוֹדִיעַ י״י אוֹתְךָ כָּל זֹאת) (Deuteronomy 4:35), we will explain the manner of the division of these five Chasadim (נְבָאֵר דֶּרֶךְ חֲלֻקַּת אֵלּוּ הַה' חֲסָדִים), which the Da’at of Ze’ir Anpin distributes (שֶׁמְּחַלֵּק הַדַּעַת דְּזְעֵיר), to Ze’ir Anpin itself (לִזְעֵיר גּוּפֵיהּ). And it is in the following manner (וְהוּא בָּזֶה הָאוֹפֶן): at first (בַּתְּחִלָּה), the Da’at of Ze’ir Anpin gives one complete Chesed to its Gedulah (נוֹתֵן דַּעַת דְּזְעֵיר חֶסֶד אֶחָד שָׁלֵם לִגְדוּלָה דִּידֵיהּ), and one complete Chesed to its Gevurah (וְחֶסֶד אֶחָד שָׁלֵם לִגְבוּרָה דִּידֵיהּ). And one Chesed was needed for its Gedulah and one complete Chesed for its Gevurah (וְהֻצְרַךְ חֶסֶד אֶחָד לִגְדוּלָה דִּידֵיהּ וְחֶסֶד אֶחָד שָׁלֵם לִגְבוּרָה דִּידֵיהּ), at that time (לְפִי שָׁעָה), because these Chasadim are covered by the Yesod of Imma, as mentioned (מִפְּנֵי שֶׁאֵלּוּ הַחֲסָדִים הֵם מְכֻסִּים מִיסוֹד אִמָּא כַּנִּזְכָּר). And as long as they are covered (וְכָל זְמַן שֶׁהֵם מְכֻסִּים), each has one complete Chesed (יֵשׁ לָהֶם חֶסֶד אֶחָד שָׁלֵם), and once Chesed and Gevurah are revealed from the covering of Imma (וְכֵיוָן שֶׁמִּתְגַּלִּים חֶסֶד וּגְבוּרָה מִכִּסּוּי אִמָּא), they cannot contain them (אֵינָם יְכוֹלִים לְסָבְלָם). And it further gives one complete Chesed to Tiferet (וְעוֹד נוֹתֵן חֶסֶד אֶחָד שָׁלֵם לְת״ת). And behold (וְהִנֵּה), the upper third of Tiferet received and retained one third of a Chesed (הַשְּׁלִישׁ הָעֶלְיוֹן שֶׁל ת״ת קִבֵּל וְהֶחֱזִיק הַשְּׁלִישׁ אֶחָד שֶׁל חֶסֶד), because that one third of a Chesed is also covered by Imma (לְפִי שֶׁשְּׁלִישׁ הָאֶחָד שֶׁל חֶסֶד הוּא גַּם כֵּן מְכֻסֶּה מֵאִמָּא), from the Harchanata [Inclining] (מֵהַרְכַּנְתָּא), for until here reaches the illumination of the Yesod of Imma, as mentioned (כִּי עַד כָּאן מַגִּיעַ הֶאָרַת יְסוֹד שֶׁל אִמָּא כַּנִּזְכָּר), and therefore one third of Tiferet was able to contain exactly one third of this Chesed descending into it (וְעַל כֵּן שְׁלִישׁ אֶחָד שֶׁל ת״ת הָיָה מֵכִיל שְׁלִישׁ אֶחָד מַמָּשׁ שֶׁל חֶסֶד זֶה הַיּוֹרֵד בּוֹ). However (אָמְנָם), the other two thirds of Tiferet (הַב' שְׁלִישִׁים הָאֲחֵרִים שֶׁל ת״ת), could not contain the other two thirds of the Chesed (לֹא יָכְלוּ לְהָכִיל הַב' שְׁלִישִׁים הָאֲחֵרִים שֶׁל חֶסֶד), which descended and was bestowed upon it from the Da’at (הַיּוֹרֵד וְנִשְׁפָּע לוֹ מִן הַדַּעַת), because now (לְפִי), while the parts of that Chesed were revealed (שֶׁעַתָּה בִּהְיוֹת חֶלְקֵי הַחֶסֶד הַהוּא מְגֻלִּים), they would become enlarged, expanded, and greatly increased (הָיוּ מִתְגַּדְּלִים וּמִתְרַחֲבִים וּמִתְרַבִּים מְאֹד), and therefore (וְלָכֵן), the aforementioned two revealed thirds of Tiferet (שְׁנֵי שְׁלִישֵׁי ת״ת הַמְגֻלִּים הַנִּזְכָּרִים), could contain only one third (לֹא יָכְלוּ לְהָכִיל רַק שְׁלִישׁ אֶחָד), of these two thirds of Chesed (מִשְּׁנֵי שְׁלִישֵׁי חֶסֶד הַלָּלוּ). It follows (נִמְצָא), that what remained outside the Middah [Attribute] of Tiferet (מַה שֶּׁנִּשְׁאַר חוּץ לְמִדַּת ת״ת), is only one third (אֵינוֹ כִּי אִם שְׁלִישׁ אֶחָד), and what will be done with it (וּמַה יַעֲשֶׂה בּוֹ), will be explained (יִתְבָּאֵר), with the assistance of Ze’ir Anpin and Nukvah, who are the Holy One, blessed be He, and His Shekhinah (בְּסִיַּיעְתָּא דִּזְעֵיר וְנוּקְבֵיהּ הוּא קֻבְ״ה וּשְׁכִינְתֵּיהּ), blessed be Hashem forever (יִתְבָּרַךְ י״י לְעוֹלָם), Amen and Amen (אָמֵן וְאָמֵן).
