Chapter Twenty-Nine (פֶּרֶק עֶשְׂרִים וְתִשְׁעָה)
Before Atzilut, the Ein Sof spread throughout everything that is now Atzilut, Beri’ah, Yetzirah, and Asiyah (קֹדֶם הָאֲצִילוּת הָיָה אֵין סוֹף מִתְפַּשֵּׁט, בְּכָל מַה שֶּׁהוּא עַתָּה אבי״ע), and even now, after He contracted His Shekhinah and prepared a place in which all the worlds would be created (וְגַם עַתָּה אַחַר שֶׁצִמְצֵם שְׁכִינָתוֹ מְתַקֵּן מָקוֹם שֶׁיִּבָּרְאוּ בּוֹ כָּל הָעוֹלָמוֹת), He surrounds all of them and encompasses them (וְהוּא סוֹבֵב אֶת כֻּלָּם וּמַקִּיפִין), and all of them are within Him like the globe of the earth within the dome of the firmament (וְכוּלָּם בְּתוֹכוֹ כְּכַדּוּר הָאָרֶץ בְּתוֹךְ כַּפַּת הָרָקִיעַ). And the order of the worlds is this (וְסֵדֶר הָעוֹלָמוֹת הוּא זֶה): First of all is Atzilut (קֹדֶם הַכֹּל הוּא אֲצִילוּת), and below it is Beri’ah (וּלְמַטָּה מִמֶּנָּה הוּא בְּרִיאָה), and below it Yetzirah (וּלְמַטָּה מִמֶּנּוּ יְצִירָה), and below it Asiyah (וּלְמַטָּה מִמֶּנּוּ עֲשִׂיָּה). And one may ask (וְיֵשׁ לִשְׁאוֹל), since the Ein Sof surrounds them all (אַחַר שֶׁאֵין סוֹף סוֹבֵב אֶת כֻּלָּם), why do we call one Atzilut and another Asiyah (לָמָּה אָנוּ קוֹרְאִים לְאֶחָד אֲצִילוּת וּלְאֶחָד עֲשִׂיָּה), since Asiyah is just as close to the Emanator and just as encompassed by Him as Atzilut (אַחַר שֶׁכָּל כָּךְ קְרוֹבָה עֲשִׂיָּה לַמַּאֲצִיל וּמוּקֶפֶת מִמֶּנּוּ כְּמוֹ הָאֲצִילוּת), and He enters within it (וְנִכְנָס בְּתוֹכוֹ). And thus the vessels of Atzilut are filled with the light of Ein Sof (וְנִמְצְאוּ כְּלֵי הָאֲצִילוּת מְלֵאִים מֵאוֹר אֵין סוֹף), and the light of Ein Sof is absorbed within them (וְאוֹר אֵין סוֹף נִטְמָע בְּתוֹכָם), and the light of Ein Sof divides itself because of its great desire to cleave to the vessel (וְנֶחְלַק אוֹר אֵין סוֹף מֵרוֹב חֶשְׁקוֹ לְהִדָּבֵק בַּכְּלִי), for the nature of the good is to bestow goodness (שֶׁטֶּבַע הַטּוֹב לְהֵיטִיב), and it is the Ein Sof that surrounds and strikes this vessel and refines it (וְהוּא אֵין סוֹף הַמַּקִּיף הַמַּכֶּה בַּכְּלִי זֶה וּמְזַכְּכוֹ), until it is almost impossible to designate it by the name vessel (עַד שֶׁכִּמְעַט אִי אֶפְשָׁר לְכַנּוֹת לוֹ שֵׁם כְּלִי). But in Beri’ah the light of Ein Sof does not enter within it (אֲבָל בִּבְרִיאָה אֵין אוֹר אֵין סוֹף נִכְנָס בְּתוֹכָהּ), rather the illumination of Ein Sof comes through a Masakh [Screen] (אֶלָּא הֶאָרַת אֵין סוֹף עַל יְדֵי מָסָךְ), and the vessels also are not made except through the power of the illumination of the vessels of Atzilut (וְגַם הַכֵּלִים אֵינָם נַעֲשִׂים, כִּי אִם מִכֹּחַ הֶאָרַת הַכֵּלִים שֶׁל הָאֲצִילוּת), and therefore the Sefirot in Atzilut are exceedingly important (וְלָזֶה הַסְּפִירוֹת שֶׁבָּאֲצִילוּת הֵם חֲשׁוּבִים מְאֹד), and it cannot be said that the surrounding light of Ein Sof refined the vessel (וְאֵין לוֹמַר שֶׁאוֹר אֵין סוֹף הַמַּקִּיף זִכֵּךְ הַכְּלִי), for the desire of the vessel is not to cleave to it in the portion that is within it (שֶׁאֵין חֵשֶׁק הַכְּלִי לְהִדָּבֵק אֵלָיו בַּחֵלֶק אֲשֶׁר בְּתוֹכוֹ), and therefore it does not refine the vessel (וְלָזֶה אֵינוֹ מְזַכֵּךְ הַכְּלִי).
And the order of Atzilut is as follows (וְסֵדֶר הָאֲצִילוּת הוּא): Arich Anpin extends throughout all of Atzilut, from its head to its end (אֲרִיךְ מִתְפַּשֵּׁט בְּכָל הָאֲצִילוּת, מֵרֹאשׁוֹ לְסוֹפוֹ), and it clothes the light of Ein Sof (וְהוּא מַלְבִּישׁ אוֹר אֵין סוֹף), therefore Arich Anpin is called Atzilut (לָזֶה אֲרִיךְ אַנְפִּין נִקְרָא אֲצִילוּת), and Asiyah means the Asiyah within Atzilut (וַעֲשִׂיָּה פֵּירוּשׁ עֲשִׂיָּה שֶׁבָּאֲצִילוּת), and Keter is the place of the entrance of the Ein Sof into Atzilut (וּמִכֶּתֶר הוּא מְקוֹם כְּנִיסַת הָאֵין סוֹף בְּתוֹךְ הָאֲצִילוּת), and it is connected to its source (וּמְקֻשָּׁר בִּמְקוֹרוֹ), and Asiyah, which is the feet of Arich (וַעֲשִׂיָּה שֶׁהוּא רַגְלֵי אֲרִיךְ), is the end of the revealed light of Ein Sof (הוּא סִיּוּם גִּלּוּי אוֹר אֵין סוֹף), and from there it returns to its source (וּמִשָּׁם חוֹזֵר אֶל מְקוֹרוֹ). And in Arich there are five aspects corresponding to the five levels of the soul (וּבַאֲרִיךְ יֵשׁ בּוֹ ה׳ בְּחִינוֹת שֶׁיֵּשׁ לַנְּשָׁמָה), and they are: Nefesh, Ruach, Neshamah, Chayah, Yechidah (וְהֵם: נֶפֶשׁ, רוּחַ, נְשָׁמָה, חַיָּה, יְחִידָה), thus in Arich there are ten inner organs such as the brain, heart, and lung (כָּךְ יֵשׁ בַּאֲרִיךְ י׳ אֵיבָרִים פְּנִימִיִּים כְּמוֹ מוֹחַ וְלֵב וְרֵיאָה), and these are the ten rulers that were in the city (וְאֵלּוּ הֵם עֲשָׂרָה שַׁלִּיטִים אֲשֶׁר הָיוּ בָּעִיר) (Ecclesiastes 7:19), and in these organs no aspect of the Klipot has any dominion (וּבְאֵלּוּ הָאֵיבָרִים אֵין שׁוּם בְּחִינַת קְלִיפָּה שׁוֹלְטוֹת), and they correspond to Yechidah (וְהֵם כְּנֶגֶד יְחִידָה). And therefore every limb that has no bone does not contract impurity if separated during life (וְלָזֶה כָּל אֵבֶר שֶׁאֵין בּוֹ עֶצֶם אֵינוֹ מְקַבֵּל טֻמְאָה, אִם פֵּירַשׁ מֵחַיִּים), and outside them are the sinews, which correspond to Neshamah (וְחוּצָה לָהֶם הַגִּידִים שֶׁהֵם כְּנֶגֶד הַנְּשָׁמָה), and outside them flesh, corresponding to Ruach (וְחוּצָה לָהֶם בָּשָׂר כְּנֶגֶד הָרוּחַ), and outside them skin, corresponding to Nefesh (וְחוּצָה לָהֶם עוֹר כְּנֶגֶד הַנֶּפֶשׁ).
