And this verse is Targum (translation) except for the last word of the verse If you say, because the holy angels do not require translation (אִי תֵימָא בְּגִין דְּמַלְאָכִין קַדִּישִׁין לָא נִזְקָקִין לְתַרְגּוּם) and are not known in it (וְלָא אִשְׁתְּמוֹדְעָן בֵּיהּ), this word is fitting to be said in the holy tongue, so that the holy angels would hear and be required to give thanks over it (מִלָּה דָא יָאוֹת הִיא לְמֵימַר בְּלִישְׁנָא קַדִּישָׁא בְּגִין דְּיִשְׁמְעוּן מַלְאָכִין קַדִּישִׁין וִיהוֹן נִזְקָקִין לְאוֹדָאָה עַל דָּא).

But surely, for this reason it is written in Targum [Aramaic Translation] (אֶלָּא וַדַּאי בְּגִין כָּךְ כְּתִיב תַּרְגּוּם), so that the holy angels would not concern themselves with it, nor become jealous of man to harm him (דְּלָא נִזְקָקִין בֵּיהּ מַלְאָכִין קַדִּישִׁין לָא יְקַנְאוּן בְּבַר נָשׁ לְאַבְאָשָׁא לֵיהּ). Because in this verse the holy angels are included (בְּגִין דִּבְהַאי קְרָא בִּכְלָלָא אִנּוּן מַלְאָכִין קַדִּישִׁין), for they are called Elohim (דְּהָא אִנּוּן אֱלֹהִים אִקְרוּן), and they are included in the category of Elohim (וּבִכְלָלָא דְּאֱלֹהִים הֲווּ), yet they did not make the heavens and the earth (וְאִנּוּן לָא עֲבַדוּ שְׁמַיָּא וְאַרְקָא). “And Arka [Earth]” (וְאַרְקָא)—it should have said “and Ar'a [Earth]” (וְאַרְעָא מִבָּעֵי לֵיהּ). Rather (אֶלָּא), because Arka [Earth] is one of those seven earths below (בְּגִין דְּאַרְקָא אִיהִי חָדָא מֵאִנּוּן שְׁבַע אַרְעִין דִּלְתַתָּא). And in that place are the descendants of Kayin [Cain] (וּבְהַהוּא אֲתַר אִית בְּנִי בְּנוֹי דְּקַיִן). After he was driven from upon the face of the earth (לְבָתַר דְּאִתְתָּרַךְ מֵעַל אַפֵּי אַרְעָא), he descended there and begot offspring (נָחִית לְתַמָּן וְעֲבִיד תּוֹלָדוֹת), and he became corrupted there, knowing nothing (וְאִשְׁתַּבַּשׁ תַּמָּן דְּלָא יָדַע כְּלוּם).

And that land is doubled, folded of darkness and light And there are two rulers there, who rule, one in darkness and one in light And there accusation is one against the other And at the time that Kayin descended there, they joined one to another and were completed as one

And all saw that these are the offspring of Kayin And for this reason they are with two heads like two beasts (וְעַל דָּא אִנּוּן בִּתְרֵין רֵאשִׁין כִּתְרֵין חֵיוָון), except that when the light rules, it prevails over the other (בַּר דְּכַד הַהוּא נְהוֹרָא שָׁלִיט נָצַח דִּילֵיהּ וְנָצַח עַל אָחֳרָא). And for this reason those of the darkness were included in the light, and became one These two rulers are Afrira and Kastimon And their appearance is like the appearance of the holy angels, with six wings One appearance is like an ox (חַד דִּיוּקְנָא כְּתוֹרָא), and one appearance is like an eagle (וְחַד דִּיוּקְנָא כְּנִשְׁרָא). And when they join together, they make the appearance of man

When they in the darkness are transformed to the likeness of a serpent with two heads (כַּד אִנּוּן בְּחֲשׁוֹכָא מִתְהַפְּכִין לִדְּיוֹקְנָא דְנָחָשׁ בִּתְרֵין רֵאשִׁין), they go like serpents and fly into the abyss and bathe in the Great Sea (וְאָזְלִין כְּחִוְיָא וְטָאסִין גּוֹ תְהוֹמָא וְאִסְתַּחְיָין בְּיַמָּא רַבָּא). When they reach the chain of Aza and Aza’el, they shake them and arouse them And they leap within mountains of darkness, thinking that Kudsha Berikh Hu desires to demand judgment of them And these two rulers swim in the Great Sea and fly from there, and at night they go to Na’amah, the mother of the demons p1-16(וְאִלֵּין תְּרֵין מְמַנָּן שָׁאטִין בְּיַמָּא רַבָּא וּפָרְחִין מִתַּמָּן וְאָזְלִין בְּלֵילְיָא לְגַבֵּי נַעֲמָה אִמְהוֹן דְּשֵׁדִין). They err after her, the ancients fear her, and they think to draw near to her And she leaps sixty thousand parasangs, and is transformed into many forms towards the sons of men, to cause the sons of men to go astray after her And these two rulers fly and wander through the whole world and return to their places And they arouse the descendants of Kayin with the spirit of evil inclinations to produce offspring

The heavens that rule there are not like these And the earth does not bring forth by their power seed and harvest like these And they do not return except after many years and times And they are the Elohim that did not make heaven and earth They shall perish from the higher earth of the inhabited world (יֵאבַדוּ מֵאַרְעָא עִילָּאָה דְתֵבֵל), so that they shall not rule over it, nor roam through it, nor cause the sons of men to become defiled through a nocturnal occurrence (דְּלָא יִשְׁלְטוּן בָּהּ וְלָא יְשָׁטְטוּן בָּהּ וְלָא יְהוֹן גָּרְמִין לִבְנֵי נָשָׁא לְאִסְתָּאֳבָא מִמִקְרֵה לֵילְיָא). And for this (וְעַל דָּא), they shall perish from the earth and from beneath the heavens that were made by the Name of Eleh [These] (יֵאבַדוּ מֵאַרְעָא וּמִן תְּחוֹת שְׁמַיָא דְּאִתְעֲבִידוּ בִּשְׁמָא דְּאֵלֶּה), as it is said (כְּמָה דְּאִתְּמָר). And for this (וְעַל דָּא), this verse is in Targum [Aramaic Translation] (הַאי קְרָא תַּרְגּוּם), so that the supernal angels should not think that it is spoken concerning them (דְּלָא יַחְשְׁבוּן מַלְאֲכֵי עִלָּאֵי דְּעֲלַיְיהוּ אָמְרִין), and they should not accuse us (וְלָא יְקַטְרְגוּ לָן). And for this (וְעַל דָּא), the secret of Eleh [These], as it has been said (רָזָא דְּאֵלֶּה כְּמָה דְּאִתְּמָר), is a holy word that is not changed into Targum [Aramaic Translation] (אִיהוּ מִלָּה קַדִּישָׁא דְּלָא אִתְחַלַּף בַּתַּרְגּוּם).
