And in Yehoshua, whose face was like the face of the moon (וּבִיהוֹשֻעַ דְּאַנְפּוֹי כְּאַנְפֵּי סִיהֲרָא), it is written: “Remove your shoe” (שַׁל נַעַלְךָ) (Joshua 5). This was only said at known times (דְּלָא אִתְפְּרַשׁ אֶלָּא בְּזִמְנִין יְדִיעָן), for the Shekhinta was not joined with him so completely (דְּהָא לָא אִתְנְסִיבַת עִמֵּיהּ שְׁכִינְתָּא כָּל כַּךְ), nor was it revealed to him (וְלָא אִתְחֲזֵי לֵיהּ), as it is written: “And Yehoshua fell on his face to the earth” (דִּכְתִיב, וַיִּפֹּל יְהוֹשֻעַ עַל פָּנָיו אַרְצָה) (Joshua 5). But here it was truly the bride of Moshe “Gifts in ba’adam” (מַתָּנוֹת בָּאָדָם) (Psalms 68)—it is written mattanat in singular (מַתְּנַת כְּתִיב).
Happy is the portion of Moshe (זַכָּאָה חוּלָקֵיהּ דְּמֹשֶׁה), whose Master desired his honor more than all the people of the world (דְּמָארֵיהּ בָּעֵי בִּיקָרֵיהּ, עַל כָּל שְׁאָר בְּנֵי עָלְמָא). “And Hashem said to Moshe: one nasi each day” (וַיֹּאמֶר יְיָ אֶל מֹשֶׁה, נָשִׂיא אֶחָד לַיּוֹם) (Numbers 7). What is for the day (מַהוּ לַיּוֹם)? Rabbi Yehudah said (אָמַר רִבִּי יְהוּדָה): the supernal days (יוֹמִין דִּלְעֵילָּא) that were initiated to be blessed (דְּאִתְחַנְּכוּ לְאִתְבָּרְכָא), in those twelve boundaries that are divided (בְּאִינּוּן תְּרֵיסָר תְּחוּמִין דְּמִתְפָּרְשָׁא). And each one was rectified and initiated with blessing through the hands of those below
It was taught (תָּאנָא): all are blessed because of the supernal altar (כֻּלְּהוּ מִתְבָּרְכָן בְּגִין מַדְבְּחָא דִּלְעֵילָּא), and even the lower and even the idol worshippers and the constellations are blessed (וַאֲפִילּוּ תַּתָּאָה וַאֲפִילּוּ עוֹבְדֵי כּוֹכָבִים וּמַזָּלוֹת מִתְבָּרְכָן).
For it was taught (דְּתַנְיָא), Rabbi Shimon said (אָמַר רִבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן): if not for the offering of those twelve princes (אִלְמָלֵא לָא אַקְרִיבוּ אִלֵּין תְּרֵיסָר נְשִׂיאִין), the world could not stand before the twelve princes of Yishma‘el (לָא יָכִיל עָלְמָא לְמֵיקָם קַמֵּי תְּרֵיסָר נְשִׂיאֵי יִשְׁמָעֵאל), as it is written: “Twelve princes for their nations” (שְׁנֵים עָשָׂר נְשִׂיאִים לְאוּמוֹתָם) (Bereshit 25). Since these of Yisrael offered (מִדְּאַקְרִיבוּ אִלֵּין דְּיִשְׂרָאֵל), they took the authority of all of them (נָסִיבוּ שׁוּלְטָנוּתָא דְּכֻלְּהוּ). Because of this, “one nasi each day” (בְּגִין כָּךְ נָשִׂיא אֶחָד לַיּוֹם). And everything that they offered (וְכָל מַה דְּאַקְרִיבוּ), they offered in the likeness of above (כְּגַוְונָא דִּלְעֵילָּא אַקְרִיבוּ), in order that all be blessed (בְּגִין דְּיִתְבָּרְכוּן כֻּלְּהוֹן). “Sixty rams, sixty he-goats” (אֵילִם שִׁשִּׁים, עַתּוּדִים שִׁשִּׁים), as it is written: “Sixty mighty ones round about her” (שִׁשִּׁים גִּבּוֹרִים סָבִיב לָהּ) (Song of Songs 3) — on the side of Gevurah (דְּבִסְטַר גְּבוּרָה). “One bowl of ten of gold…” And behold it was said (וְהָא אִתְּמַר): happy is the portion of the Righteous (זַכָּאָה חוּלָקֵיהוֹן דְּצַדִּיקַיָּיא), for Kudsha Berikh Hu pours upon them blessing (דְּקוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא מֵרִיק עָלַיְיהוּ בִּרְכָאן), and He listens to their prayers (וְצַיִית צְלוֹתְהוֹן). And about them it is written: “He turned to the prayer of the destitute, and did not despise their prayer” (וְעָלַיְיהוּ כְּתִיב, פָּנָה אֶל תְּפִלַּת הָעַרְעָר וְלֹא בָזָה אֶת תְּפִלָּתָם) (Psalms 102).
“Blessed be Hashem forever, amen and amen. Hashem shall reign forever, amen and amen”
