And all this (וְכָל דָּא), because one day (בְּגִין דְּיוֹמָא חֲדָא), one of the friends (חַד מִן חַבְרַיָּיא) was explaining words of Orayta (הֲוָה פָּרִישׁ מִלִּין דְּאוֹרַיְיתָא). When he reached one word (כַּד מָטָא לְחַד מִלָּה), this man knew he would stumble in it (יָדַע הַאי בַּר נָשׁ דְּיִתְכְּשַׁל בֵּיהּ), and said to the friends: Be silent (וְאָמַר לְחַבְרַיָּיא שְׁתּוֹקוּ), do not say anything (לָא תֵּימְרוּן מִדִי). And because the friends were silent (וּבְגִין דִּשְׁתִּיקוּ חַבְרַיָּיא), he stumbled in that word (אִתְכְּשַׁל בְּהַהוּא מִלָּה), and was shamed (וְאִכְסִיף). And that shame (וְהַהוּא כִּסּוּפָא) that this man caused (דְּגָרִים הַאי בַּר נָשׁ), they judged him with this harsh judgment (דַּיְינִין לֵיהּ בְּהַאי דִּינָא קַשְׁיָא), because Kudsha Berikh Hu does not want to leave a debt of Orayta (בְּגִין דְּלָא בָּעֵי קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא לְשַׁבְקָא חוֹבָא דְּאוֹרַיְיתָא), even like a hair’s breadth (אֲפִילּוּ כִּמְלֹא נִימָא).

They judged his judgment (דַּיְינוּ דִּינֵיהּ), and all the sons of the Academy went out (וְנַפְקוּ כָּל בְּנֵי מְתִיבְתָּא). And I asked permission (וַאֲנָא שָׁאִילְנָא רְשׁוּ), for behold, the son of Yochai asked this question (דְּהָא בְּרֵיהּ דְּיוֹחָאי, שָׁאִיל שְׁאֶלְתָּא דָּא). And because of this they showed me what I did not know before

O Rabbi (אִי רִבִּי), six palaces they showed me (שִׁית הֵיכָלִין אַחְזִיוּ לִי), with many delights and pleasures (בְּכַמָּה עִנּוּגִין וְעִדּוּנִין), in the place where the veil is spread in the garden (בַּאֲתָר דְּפָרוֹכְתָּא פְּרִישָׁא בְּגִנְתָּא). For from that veil and onward (דְּהָא מֵהַהוּא פָּרוֹכְתָּא וּלְהָלְאָה), no males enter at all (לָא עָאלִין דְּכוּרִין כְּלַל).

In one palace is Batyah the daughter of Pharaoh (בְּהֵיכָלָא חֲדָא, אִית בַּתְיָה בַּת פַּרְעֹה), and many myriads and thousands of women merited with her (וְכַמָּה רִבּוֹא וְאַלְפֵי נָשִׁין, זַכְיָין בַּהֲדָהּ). And each one of them (וְכָל חֲדָא וַחֲדָא מִנַּיְיהוּ), has places of radiance and delights without crowding at all (דּוּכְתִּין דִּנְהוֹרִין וְעִדּוּנִין, בְּלָא דֹּחֲקָא כְּלָל אִית לָהּ).

Three times every day heralds proclaim Behold, the image of Moshe the faithful prophet comes And Batyah goes out (וּבַתְיָה נַפְקַת), to the place of her curtain (לַאֲתָר דְּפַרְגּוֹדָא חֲדָא דְּאִית לָהּ). And she sees the image of Moshe (וְחָמָאת דִּיּוּקְנָא דְּמֹשֶׁה), and bows before him (וְסָגִידַת לְגַבֵּיהּ), and says (וְאָמְרָה): Meritorious is my portion that I raised this radiance (זַכָּאָה חוּלָקִי דְּרָבִיתִי נְהִירוּ דָּא). And this is her delight, more than all others She returned to the women (אַהֲדְרַת לְגַבֵּי נָשִׁין), and they engage in the commandments of Orayta (וְאִשְׁתַּדְּלָן בְּפִקּוּדֵי אוֹרַיְיתָא). All in those forms they had in this world (כֻלְּהוּ בְּאִינּוּן דִּיוּקְנִין דַּהֲווֹ בְּהַאי עָלְמָא), in garments of radiance (בִּלְבוּשָׁא דִּנְהוֹרָא). Some say: in garments (ס״א כְּלְבוּשָׁא), in garments of males (בִּלְבוּשָׁא דִּדְכוּרִין). Except those who do not shine so (בַּר דְּלָא נַהֲרֵי הָכִי), the commandments of Orayta which they did not merit to fulfill in this world (פִּקוּדִין דְּאוֹרַיְיתָא דְּלָא זָכוּ לְקַיְּימָא לוֹן בְּהַאי עָלְמָא), they engage in them and in their meanings in that world (מִשְׁתַּדְּלֵי בְּהוּ, וּבְטַעְמַיְיהוּ, בְּהַהוּא עָלְמָא). And all those women who sit with Batyah daughter of Pharaoh (וְכָל הָנֵי נָשִׁין, דְּיַתְבִין בַּהֲדֵי בַּתְיָה בַּת פַּרְעֹה), are called tranquil women (אִקְרוּן נָשִׁים שַׁאֲנַנּוֹת), for they did not suffer the pain of Gehinnom at all (דְּלָא אִצְטַעְרוּ בְּצַעֲרָא דְּגֵיהִנָּם כְּלַל).

In another palace is Serach daughter of Asher (בְּהֵיכָלָא אַחֲרָא, אִית סֶרַח בַּת אָשֵׁר), and many myriads and thousands of women with her (וְכַמָה נָשִׁין רִבּוֹא וְאַלְפִין בַּהֲדָהּ). Three times a day they proclaim before her Behold the image of Yosef the righteous comes And she rejoices (וְאִיהִי חַדָּאת), and goes out to her curtain which she has (וְנַפְקַת לְגַבֵּי פַּרְגּוֹדָא חֲדָא דְּאִית לָהּ). And she sees the radiance of the image of Yosef (וְחָמָאת נְהִירוּ דְּדִיּוּקְנָא דְּיוֹסֵף), and rejoices (וְחַדָּאת), and bows before him (וְסָגִידַת לְגַבֵּיהּ). And she says (וְאָמָרְת): Meritorious is this day that I was aroused with your good tidings to my grandfather (זַכָּאָה הַאי יוֹמָא, דְּאִתְּעָרִית בְּשׂוֹרָה דִּילָךְ לְגַבֵּי סָבָאי). Afterwards she returns to the other women (לְבָתַר אַהֲדְרַת לְגַבֵּי שְׁאַר נָשִׁין), and they engage in the praises of the Master of the world (וּמִשְׁתַּדְּלִין בְּתוּשְׁבְּחָן דְּמָארֵי עָלְמָא), and in giving thanks to His Name (וּלְאוֹדָאָה שְׁמֵיהּ). And many places of joy each one has And afterwards they return to engage in the commandments of Orayta and their meanings In another palace is Yokheved, the mother of Moshe the faithful prophet (בְּהֵיכָלָא אַחֲרָא, אִית יוֹכֶבֶד, אִמֵּיהּ דְּמֹשֶׁה נְבִיאָה מְהֵימָנָא), and many thousands and myriads with her (וְכַמָּה אַלְפִין וְרִבְּבָן בַּהֲדָהּ). In this palace they do not proclaim at all (בְּהֵיכָלָא דָּא, לָא מַכְרְזֵי כְּלַל), except three times every day (אֶלָּא ג׳ זִמְנִין בְּכָל יוֹמָא וְיוֹמָא), she gives thanks and praises the Master of the world (אוֹדֵת וּמְשַׁבָּחַת לְמָארֵי עָלְמָא), she and all the women with her (אִיהִי וְכָל אִינּוּן נָשִׁין דִּי בַּהֲדָהּ). And the Song of the Sea they sing every day And she alone says from there: “And Miriam the prophetess took, etc., the timbrel in her hand, etc.” And all the Righteous in Gan Eden listen to her pleasant voice And many holy angels give thanks and praise with her to the Holy Name

In another palace is Devorah (בְּהֵיכָלָא אַחֲרָא, אִית דְּבוֹרָה), likewise all the other women with her (אוּף הָכִי וְכָל שְׁאַר נָשִׁין בַּהֲדָהּ), giving thanks and singing with that song she said in this world (אוֹדָן וּמְזַמְּרָן בְּהַהִיא שִׁירָתָא דְּאִיהִי אַמְרַת בְּהַאי עָלְמָא). O Rabbi, O Rabbi (אִי רִבִּי, אִי רִבִּי), who can see the joy of the Righteous (מַאן חָמֵי חֶדְוָה דְּצַדִּיקַיָּיא), and of the women who merited to act before Kudsha Berikh Hu (וּדְנָשִׁין זַכְיָין דְּעַבְדִּין לְגַבֵּי קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא). Within, within those palaces (לְגוֹ לְגוֹ דְּאִינּוּן הֵיכָלִין), are four hidden palaces (אִית אַרְבַּע הֵיכָלִין טְמִירִין), of holy mothers (דְּאִמָּהָן קַדִּישִׁין), which were not given to be revealed (דְּלָא אִתְמַסְרָן לְאִתְגַּלָּאָה), and no one sees them (וְלֵית מַאן דְּחָמֵי לוֹן). All the day they are alone (בְּכוּלֵיהּ יוֹמָא אִינּוּן בִּלְחוֹדֵיהוֹן), as I told you (כְּמָה דַּאֲמֵינָא לְךָ), and the men likewise (וְגוּבְרִין אוּף הָכִי). And every night they are all joined as one (וּבְכָל לֵילְיָא אִתְכְּלִילָן כֻּלְּהוּ כַּחֲדָא), because the time of Zivug is at midnight (בְּגִין דְּשַׁעְתָּא דְּזִוּוּגָא אִיהוּ בְּפַלְגוּת לֵילְיָא), both in this world and in that world (בֵּין בְּהַאי עָלְמָא, בֵּין בְּהַהוּא עָלְמָא). The Zivug of that world is cleaving of Neshama with Neshama, light with light The Zivug of this world is body with body And all is as it appears (וְכֹלָּא כְּמָה דְּאִתְחֲזֵי), kind after kind (זִינָא בָּתַר זִינֵיהּ), Zivug after Zivug (זִוּוּגָא בָּתַר זִוּוּגָא), body after body (גּוּפָא בָּתַר גּוּפָא), the Zivug of that world, light after light (זִוּוּגָא דְּהַהוּא עָלְמָא, נְהוֹרָא בָּתַר נְהוֹרָא). The palaces of the four mothers are called palaces of trusting daughters And we did not merit to see them Meritorious is the portion of the Righteous (זַכָּאָה חוּלָקֵיהוֹן דְּצַדִּיקַיָּיא), men and women (גּוּבְרִין וְנוּקְבֵי), who go in the straight path in this world (דְּאַזְלֵי בְּאֹרַח מֵישָׁר בְּהַאי עָלְמָא), and merit all the delights of that world (וְזַכָּאִין לְכֻלְּהוּ עִנּוּגִין דְּהַהוּא עָלְמָא).
