Daf 152a (דַּף קנ״ב ע״א)
And he saw, and behold, a well in the field (וַיַּרְא וְהִנֵּה בְּאֵר בַּשָּׂדֶה), this is a secret (רָזָא אִיהוּ), that he saw this well above (דְּחָמָא הַאי בְּאֵר לְעֵילָא), this is like this form (דָּא כְּגַוְונָא דָא), as it is written (כְּתִיב): “Three flocks of sheep lying upon it” (שְׁלשָׁה עֶדְרֵי צֹאן רֹבְצִים עָלֶיהָ) (Bereshit 29). If they are three (אִי אִינוּן שְׁלשָׁה), why is it written (אַמַּאי כְּתִיב): “And all the flocks were gathered there”? (וְנֶאֶסְפוּ שָׁמָּה כָּל הָעֲדָרִים) (Bereshit 29). Rather, these three are: south, east, and north (אֶלָּא, אִינוּן שְׁלשָׁה: דָּרוֹם, מִזְרָח, צָפוֹן). South from this side (דָּרוֹם מֵהַאי סִטְרָא), and north from this side (וְצָפוֹן מֵהַאי סִטְרָא), and east between them (וּמִזְרָח בֵּינַיְיהוּ). And these stand upon this well (וְאִלֵּין קָיְימִין עַל הַאי בְּאֵר), and hold it (וְאֲחִידָן לֵיהּ), and fill it (וּמַלְיָין לֵיהּ). What is the reason? (מַאי טַעְמָא) Because (בְּגִין): “For from that well they would water the flocks” (כִּי מִן הַבְּאֵר הַהִיא יַשְׁקוּ הָעֲדָרִים) (Bereshit 29). This is what is written (הַיְינוּ דִכְתִיב): “They give drink to every beast of the field” (יַשְׁקוּ כָל חַיְתוֹ שָׂדָי) (Psalms 104).

Sitre Torah
There all the flocks were gathered (שָׁמָּה כָּל הָעֲדָרִים וְנֶאֶסְפוּ), and it does not say, “and the flocks were gathered there” (וְנֶאֶסְפוּ שָׁמָּה הָעֲדָרִים לָא כְּתִיב), but rather, “all the flocks” (אֶלָּא כָּל הָעֲדָרִים), holy encampments above (מַשִּׁרְיָין קַדִּישִׁין לְעֵילָא), and holy encampments below (וּמַשִּׁרְיָין קַדִּישִׁין לְתַתָּא)—these with songs and praises above (אִלֵּין בְּשִׁירִין וּתְּשׁוּבְחָן לְעֵילָא), and these with prayers and supplications below (וְאִלֵּין בִּצְלוֹתִין וּבָעוּתִין לְתַתָּא). These and these (אִלֵּין וְאִלֵּין), immediately (מִיָּד): “They rolled the stone from the mouth of the well” (וְגָלֲלוּ אֶת הָאֶבֶן מֵעַל פִּי הַבְּאֵר) (Bereishit 29), they turned it aside (מְגַנְדְּרִין לָהּ), and moved it away from Holiness (וּמַעַבְרִין לָהּ מִן קוּדְשָׁא), and it departed from judgment (וְאִסְתַּלִּיק מִן דִּינָא). Immediately: “They gave the flock to drink” (מִיָּד וְהִשְׁקוּ אֶת הַצֹּאן), the supernal angels took above (נָטְלוּ מַלְאֲכֵי עִלָּאֵי לְעֵילָא), and Yisrael took below (וְנָטְלֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְתַתָּא). Afterward: “And they returned the stone” (לְבָתַּר וְהֵשִׁיבוּ אֶת הָאֶבֶן), upon the word that this well (עַל מֵימְרָא דְּהַאי בְּאֵר), was to be crowned before it (לְאִתְּעַטְרָא קַמֵּיהּ) Some say: was destined to be prepared before it (ס״א לְאִתְעַתְּדָא קַמֵּיהּ), and to demand the judgment of the world (וּלְמִתְּבַּע דִּינָא דְעַלְמָא), to conduct the world by judgment (לְאִתְּנַהֲגָא עַלְמָא בְּדִינָא). And so it must be (וְהָכִי אִצְטְרִיךָ), for the world cannot exist but through judgment (דְּהָא לָא יָכִיל עַלְמָא לְמֵיקַם אֶלָּא עַל דִּינָא), that all should be in truth and merit (לְמֶהֱוֵי כֹּלָּא בִּקְשׁוֹט וּזְכוּ). Once Ya'akov was perfected (כֵּיוָן דְּאִשְׁתְּלִים יַעֲקֹב), he had no need for that stone nor for another assistance (לָא אִצְטְרִיךָ לְהַאי אֶבֶן סִיּוּעָא אָחֳרָא), what is written? (מַה כְּתִיב): “And Ya'akov drew near and rolled the stone” (וַיִּגַּשׁ יַעֲקֹב וַיְגַל אֶת הָאֶבֶן) (Bereishit 29). It is written “and he rolled” and not “and he removed” (וַיְגַל וְגָלֲלוּ, וְלֹא כְּתִיב וַיָּסַר וְהֵסִירוּ), rather: “and they rolled” (אֶלָּא וְגָלֲלוּ)—this refers to the confusion of the Satan (הַיְינוּ עִרְבּוּבָא דְּשָׂטָן), who mixes it (דִּמְעַרְבְּבִין לֵיהּ), so he cannot accuse (דְּלָא יָכִיל לְקַטְרְגָא). And Ya'akov alone (וְיַעֲקֹב בִּלְחוֹדֵיהּ), did not require another assistance (לָא אִצְטְרִיךָ לְסִיּוּעָא אָחֳרָא), rather he alone (אֶלָּא אִיהוּ בִּלְחוֹדֵיהּ). For the completion of the Patriarchs was Ya'akov (דְּהָא שְׁלִימוּ דְּאֲבָהָתָּא הֲוָה יַעֲקֹב), and since he was able to prevail against Esav in this world (דְּכֵיוָן דְּיָכִיל בֵּיהּ בְּעֵשָׂו בְּהַאי עַלְמָא), he could prevail above (יָכִיל לְעֵילָא). And in all things, the action was required (וּבְכֹּלָּא אִצְטְרִיךָ עוֹבָדָא).
Ya'akov acquired two worlds (תְּרֵין עַלְמִין אַחְסִין יַעֲקֹב), one revealed world (חַד עַלְמָא דְּאִתְגַּלְיָא), and one concealed world (וְחַד עַלְמָא דְּאִתְּכַּסְיָא), exactly in their likeness (כְּגַוְונָא דִּלְהוֹן מַמָּשׁ). From one emerged six tribes (מֵחַד נָפְקוּ שִׁית שִׁבְטִין), and from one emerged two tribes (וּמֵחָד נָפְקוּ תְּרֵין שִׁבְטִין). The concealed world issued six directions (עַלְמָא דְּאִתְּכַּסְיָא אַפִּיק שִׁית סִטְרִין), the revealed world issued two (עַלְמָא דְּאִתְגַּלְיָא אַפִּיק תְּרֵין), and these are the two Keruvin beneath her (וְאִינוּן תְּרֵין כְּרוּבִין דִּתְּחוֹתָּהּ), and Ya'akov was found between the two worlds (וְיַעֲקֹב בֵּין תְּרֵין עָלְמִין אִשְׁתַּכַּח), in their very image (בְּדִיוּקְנָא דִּלְהוֹן מַמָּשׁ). And for this reason (וּבְגִין כָּךְ), all the offspring of Le’ah were in concealment (כָּל מִלוֹי דְּלֵאָה הֲווּ בְּאִתְּכַּסְיָא), and those of Rachel in revelation (וּדְרָחֵל בְּאִתְּגַּלְיָא). And all the flocks were gathered there (וְנֶאֶסְפוּ שָׁמָּה כָּל הָעֲדָרִים), this is what is written (הַיְינוּ דִּכְתִּיב): “All the rivers go to the sea” (כָּל הַנְּחָלִים הוֹלְכִים אֶל הַיָּם) (Kohelet 1). “And they rolled the stone” (וְגָלֲלוּ אֶת הָאֶבֶן) (Bereishit 29), they removed from it the harsh force of severe judgment (מַעֲבִירִין מִינָהּ תְּקִיפוּ דְּדִינָא קַשְׁיָא), that which is frozen and hardened (הַהוּא דְּגָלִיד וְקָרִישׁ), [Some say: male waters] (ס״א מַיִן דִּכְרִין), which therefore is called “stone” (דִּכְדֵין אִקְרֵי אֶבֶן), and no waters go out from it to the outside (וְלָא נָפְקֵי מִינָהּ מַיָּא לְבַר). But when these rivers come (וְכַד אִינוּן נַחֲלִין אַתְיָין), the south strengthens itself, which is the right side (אִתְּתַּקַּף דָּרוֹם דְּאִיהוּ יְמִינָא), and the north cannot draw out water (וְלָא יָכְלָא צָפוֹן לְמִקְרַשׁ מַיָּין), like a river whose waters are abundant (כְּהַאי נַהֲרָא כַּד מֵימוֹי סַגִּיאִין), its waters do not freeze and harden (לָא גְלִידִין וְקָרֵשֵׁי מַיָּא), unlike a river whose waters are meager (כְּנַהֲרָא דְּמֵימוֹי זְעִירִין). And concerning this, when these rivers come (וְעַל דָּא, כַּד אִינוּן נַחֲלִין אַתְיָין), the south is empowered, which is the right side (אִתְּתַּקַּף דָּרוֹם דְּאִיהוּ יְמִינָא) (daf 29b), and the waters are released (וּמַיִין אִשְׁתַּרְיָין), and they flow and give drink to the flocks (וְנָגְדִין וְאַשְׁקְיָין עֲדָרַיָּא), as we have said, that it is written: “They give drink to every beast of the field” (כְּמָה דַּאֲמְרָן דִּכְתִּיב: יַשְׁקוּ כָּל חַיְתוֹ שָׂדָי) (Tehillim 104). “And they returned the stone upon the mouth of the well” (וְהֵשִׁיבוּ אֶת הָאֶבֶן עַל פִּי הַבְּאֵר) (Bereishit 29), to its place (לִמְקוֹמָהּ), because the world needs its judgment (בְּגִין דְּעַלְמָא אִצְטְרִיךְ דִּינָא דִּילָהּ), that it be through judgment (דְּתֶהֱוֵי בְּדִינָא), to rebuke the guilty through it (לְאוֹכָחָא בֵּיהּ חַיָּיבַיָּא).
