All these Tikkunin come to unite as one, (כָּל הָנֵי תִּקּוּנִין, אַתְיָין לְאִתְחַבְּרָא בְּחַד) until the entire greatness of holiness (עַד דְּכָל רְבוּת קֻדְשָׁא) takes all this Yesod, (נָטִיל כֹּלָּא הַאי יְסוֹד) and casts it upon Nukvah, (וְאַשְׁדֵּי לְנוּקְבָּא) and she becomes blessed through it. When is she blessed through it?
At the time when judgments below are rectified. And when judgments are rectified below, (וְכַד דִּינִין מִתְתַּקְנִין לְתַתָּא) they are rectified above, (מִתְתַּקְנִין לְעֵילָּא) and all the Tikkunin of the King (וְכָל תִּקּוּנִין דְּמַלְכָּא) are in joy, in perfection, (בְּחֶדְוָותָא, בִּשְׁלִימוּ) for they are the Holy Name, (דְּאִינּוּן שְׁמָא קַדִּישָׁא) and all becomes one. Then He dwells among them, (וּכְדֵין הוּא שַׁארִי בְּגַוַּויְיהוּ) as it is written, (דִּכְתִּיב) "(Psalms 82) Elohim stands in the congregation of El; in the midst of Elohim He judges."
But when judgments are not rectified below, (וְכַד דִּינִין לָא מִתְתַּקְנָן לְתַתָּא) it is as if, above also, thus it is, (כִּבְיָכוֹל הָכִי לְעֵילָּא). For all the Tikkunin are not thus aligned, (דְּכָל תִּקּוּנִין לָא מִתְיַשְּׁרָן הָכִי) since Imma withdraws from above the children, (דְּהָא אִימָא אִסְתָּלָקַת מֵעַל בְּנִין) and the children do not suckle, (וּבְנִין לָא יַנְקֵי) because Yesod does not cast upon female, (דְּהָא יְסוֹד לָא אַשְׁדֵי בְּנוּקְבָּא) and all judgments awaken, (וְכָל דִּינִין מִתְעָרִין) and the fierce serpent rules.
As if, (כִּבְיָכוֹל) the Tikkunin of the King withdraw due to judgment, (תִּקּוּנִי מַלְכָּא עַל דִּינָא אִסְתַּלָקוּ) since this Nukvah is not blessed, (דְּכֵיוָן דְּהַאי נוּקְבָּא לָא מִתְבָּרְכָא) and the Tzaddik does not take. And the fierce serpent rules. Woe to the world nourished by them.
Rabbi El'azar said, (אָמַר רִבִּי אֶלְעָזָר) All these Tikkunin, Abba revealed them, (כָּל הָנִי תִּקּוּנִין, אַבָּא גַּלֵּי לוֹן) so that one should not enter with shame into the world to come. Now why did they need to be revealed? Rabbi Abba said to him, (אָמַר לֵיהּ רִבִּי אַבָּא) That which I wrote from the Holy luminary, (הַהוּא דַּאֲנָא כָּתַבְנָא מִבּוּצִינָא קַדִּישָׁא) I said, write it for the Friends, (אֲמֵינָא (כְּתָבוּהָ) לְגַבֵּי חַבְרַיָּא) for they know these words. (דְּהָא אִינּוּן יַדְעִין מִלִּין) And it was necessary to know them, (וְהָא אִצְטְרִיךְ לְמִנְדַּע) as it is written, (דִּכְתִּיב) "(Exodus 10) And you shall know that I am Hashem." And it is written, (וּכְתִיב) "(Exodus 29) And they shall know that I am Hashem." So that the words will be settled by the moon. And from here onward, the words are concealed within. Fortunate is our portion in this world and in the world to come, (זַכָּאָה חוּלָקָנָא בְּהַאי עָלְמָא, וּבְעָלְמָא דְּאָתֵי) for until now the holy luminary is crowned (דְּהָא עַד כְּעָן בּוּצִינָא קַדִּישָׁא אִתְעַטָּר) with these inner words.
Come and see, (תָּא חֲזֵי) I saw him in a dream, (אֲנָא חָזֵינָא לֵיהּ בְּחֶלְמָא) and I asked before Rabbi Shimon: (וְשָׁאִילְנָא קָמֵיהּ דְּרַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן) "We have learned before the Master, (הָא אוֹלִיפְנָא קָמֵיהּ דְּמַר) that Yud is Chokhmah, (י' דְּאִיהִי חָכְמָה) and certainly so it is. (וְהָכִי הוּא וַדַּאי). Heh—why is it Binah?" He said to me, (אָמַר לִי) "Come and see, (תָּא חֲזֵי) for it is written, (הָא כְּתִיב) '(Bereshit 2) And a river goes forth from Eden to water the Garden.' (וְנָהָר יוֹצֵא מֵעֵדֶן לְהַשְׁקוֹת אֶת הַגָּן). Who is the river going forth from Eden? (מַאן הוּא נָהָר דְּיוֹצֵא מֵעֵדֶן) It is Binah. (דָּא בִּינָה). Therefore, in that river, Yod is concealed, (וּבְגִין כָּךְ הַהוּא נָהָר, י' סָתִים בְּגַוֵּיהּ). and Yod spreads forth that river from every side. (וְיוּ"ד פָּשִׁיט נַהֲרָא דָּא מִכָּל סִטְרוֹי). And this is Heh; (וְדָא הִיא ה') therefore it is Yod-Heh. Afterward, she brought forth a son beneath her, (לְבָתַר אַפִּיקַת בֵּן תְּחוֹתָהּ) which is Vav, (דְּאִיהוּ ו') in the likeness of this Heh. (כְּגַוְונָא דָּא ה'). Afterward, she bore and brought forth this son, (לְבָתַר אוֹלִידַת וְאַפִּיקַת הַאי בֵּן) and placed him before her. (וְשַׁוְיֵהּ לְקַמָּהּ) Therefore it became Yod-Heh-Vav, (וּבְגִין כַּךְ יה"ו) for the Vav stands before her (דְּהָא ו' לְקַמָּהּ יָתִיב) to suckle from her. Thus we learned in our Mishnah: (וְעַל כַּךְ תָּנֵינָן בְּמַתְנִיתָא דִּילָן) Hei was Dalet; (ה' ד' הֲוַת) when the male united with her, she became impregnated with a son, (מִדְּאִתְחַבָּר דְּכוּרָא עִמָּהּ אִתְעַבְּרַת מֵחָד בֵּן) and she was called Heh. Afterward, she gave birth and brought forth that son, Vav, (לְבָתַר אוֹלִידַת וְאַפִּיקַת ו' הַהוּא בֵּן) and he stood before her. Concerning this it is written: (וְעַל הַאי כְּתִיב) 'And a river goes forth from Eden'—certainly it emerges from it—'to water the Garden,' (וְנָהָר יוֹצֵא מֵעֵדֶן, מִנֵּיהּ נָפִיק וַדַּאי, לְהַשְׁקוֹת אֶת הַגָּן) to nourish it." (לְיַנְקָא לֵיהּ).
I grasped his hand, (הֲוִינָא אָחִיד בִּידֵיהּ) (Some say: grasped him, (נ"א בֵּיהּ)) and kissed his hand. (וְנָשִׁיק בִּידוֹי). At this delight I awakened, (אֲנָא בְּהַאי עִדּוּנָא אִתְּעַרְנָא) weeping and joyful. (בָּכֵי וְחַיִיךְ) For three days, I ate nothing, (וַהֲווּ תְּלָתָא יוֹמִין דְּלָא אֲכִילְנָא מִידִי) one due to joy, (חַד מֵחֶדְוָותָא) and one for not meriting to see him again. (וְחַד דְּלָא זָכֵינָא לְמֶחמֵי לֵיהּ זִמְנָא אַחֲרָא). Yet despite all this, I remained forever bound to him, (וְעִם כָּל דָּא, בֵּיהּ אִתְקָשַׁרְנָא תָּדִירָא). For whenever teachings illuminate me, (דְּהָא כַּד נְהִירָא לִי שְׁמַעְתְּתָא) I behold his image standing before me. (חֲמֵינָא דִּיּוּקְנֵיהּ, דְּאִתְּעַר קָמָּאי) Fortunate are those Righteous, (זַכָּאִין אִינּוּן צַדִּיקַיָּיא) in this world and in the world to come; (בְּעָלְמָא דֵּין, וּבְעָלְמָא דְּאָתֵי) of them it is written, (עֲלַיְיהוּ כְּתִיב) '(Psalms 140) Surely, Tzaddikim shall give thanks to Your name; the upright shall dwell in Your presence.' (אַךְ צַדִּיקִים יוֹדוּ לִשְׁמֶךָ יֵשְׁבוּ יְשָׁרִים אֶת פָּנֶיךָ). (Until here is the Idra). ((ע"כ האידרא)
'(Exodus 23) In all that I have said to you, be guarded.' Why "be guarded"? It should say "guard." Rather, indeed, "be guarded." (אֶלָּא תִּשָּׁמֵרוּ וַדַּאי) What is 'that I have said to you'? (מַאי אֲשֶׁר אָמַרְתִּי אֲלֵיכֶם) Meaning, as I have warned you about performing My service. 'Be guarded,' lest any evil come upon you. Guard yourselves by My protection alone. 'And the name of other gods you shall not mention,' as established, Alternatively, do not cause yourselves to dwell among foreign peoples in another land, (דָּבָר אַחֵר...כְּלוֹמַר, לא תְּסַבְּבוּן, דְּתִפְּלוּן בֵּינִי עֲמַמְיָא בְּאַרְעָא אַחֲרָא) fulfilling '(Deuteronomy 28) And there you shall serve other gods.'
