And this is the horn of the Yovel (jubilee) And Yovel (jubilee) is Hei (וְיוֹבֵל ה׳). And Hei is the breath of spirit to all And all return to their places As it is written: Ah, Hashem Elohim When Hei was seen to Hei (כַּד אִתְחָזֵי ה׳ לְה׳), Hashem Elohim was called a complete Name (יְיָ אֱלֹהִים אִתְקְרֵי שֵׁם מָלֵּא). And it is written: And Hashem alone shall be exalted in that day (Isaiah 2). Some say: When Hei was seen to Hei, and Yod was removed, punishment came into the world And if not for the sake of man, YHVH, the world would not exist And all would be destroyed (וְכֹלָּא אִתְחֲרַב). And concerning this it is written: And He shall be exalted, etc. Therefore, hidden and crowned is the modesty of the King That is, the Book of Concealment Fortunate is he (זַכָּאָה) — some say: for he who goes out and knows (נ״א: לְמַאן דְּנָפֵק וְיָדַע). For he who enters and goes out and knows its paths and its ways

Parashat Tetzaveh

And you shall command the children of Yisrael, etc. (Exodus 27). And you, bring near to you Aharon your brother, etc. Rabbi Ḥiyya said: What is different here from every other place (אָמַר רִבִּי חִיָּיא, מַאי שְׁנָא הָכָא מִבְכָל אֲתָר), where it is written: And you, bring near to you (דִּכְתִּיב וְאַתָּה הַקְרֵב אֵלֶיךָ), and you shall speak to all wise of heart (וְאַתָּה תְּדַבֵּר אֶל כָּל חַכְמֵי לֵב), and you shall command the children of Yisrael (וְאַתָּה תְּצַוֶּה אֶת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל). And it is written: And you, take for yourself choice spices—flowing myrrh (Exodus 30). Rather, all is in the supernal mystery (אֶלָּא כֹּלָּא בְּרָזָא עִלָּאָה אִיהוּ), to include the Shekhinta with him (לְאַכְלְלָא שְׁכִינְתָּא בַהֲדֵיהּ).

Rabbi Yitzḥak said: A supernal light and a lower light are united as one (אָמַר רִבִּי יִצְחָק, נְהוֹרָא עִלָּאָה, וּנְהוֹרָא תַּתָּאָה כָּלִיל כַּחֲדָא), it is called: “and you” (אִקְרֵי וְאַתָּה). As you said: “And You give life to them all” (כְּמָה דְּאַתְּ אָמַר: וְאַתָּה מְחַיֶּה אֶת כֻּלָּם) (Nehemiah 9). And for this reason, it is not written: And you brought near Aharon your brother (וְעַל דָּא לָא כְּתִיב, וְהִקְרַבְתָּ אֶת אַהֲרֹן אָחִיךְ), and you commanded the children of Yisrael (וְצִוִּיתָ אֶת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל), and you spoke to all wise of heart (וְדִבַּרְתָּ אֶל כָּל חַכְמֵי לֵב), because at that time the sun was dwelling in the moon (בְּגִין דְּהַהוּא זִמְנָא שַׁרְיָא שִׁמְשָׁא בְּסִיהֲרָא), and all was blended as one (וְאִשְׁתָּתַּף כֹּלָּא כַּחֲדָא), to dwell upon the craftsmanship of the labor (לְשַׁרְיָא עַל אוּמָנוּתָא דְּעוֹבָדָא). Rabbi El’azar said: From here—“Whom Hashem gave wisdom and understanding in them” (אָמַר רִבִּי אֶלְעָזָר, מֵהָכָא: אֲשֶׁר נָתַן יְיָ חָכְמָה וּתְבוּנָה בָּהֵמָּה) (Exodus 36).

Rabbi Shim’on said: From here—“And you shall speak to all wise of heart, whom I have filled with a spirit of wisdom” (רִבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן אָמַר: מֵהָכָא, וְאַתָּה תְּדַבֵּר אֶל כָּל חַכְמֵי לֵב אֲשֶׁר מִלֵּאתִיו רוּחַ חָכְמָה) (Exodus 28). “Whom I have filled” should have been: “Whom I have filled (plural)” (אֲשֶׁר מִלֵּאתִים מִבָּעֵי לֵיהּ). Rather: “Whom I have filled”—that heart I have filled him with a spirit of wisdom (מִלֵּאתִיו רוּחַ חָכְמָה), as you said: “And the spirit of Hashem shall rest upon him, a spirit of wisdom…” (Isaiah 11). And for this reason, it is written: “Whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom” (וְעַל דָּא אִצְטְרִיךְ: אֲשֶׁר מִלֵּאתִיו רוּחַ חָכְמָה), for the sun was dwelling in the moon in full completeness of all (דְּשַׁרְיָא שִׁמְשָׁא בְּסִיהֲרָא בְּאַשְׁלְמוּתָא דְּכֹלָּא), and for this reason, everything was impressed in every place (וְעַל דָּא אִתְרְשִׁים כֹּלָּא בְכָל אֲתָר). Rabbi El’azar said: If so, these “and you” and “and you”—how can they be reconciled in the verses?
