Twenty-five and twenty-four of Shacharit-these are forty-nine aspects And there are forty-nine aspects below, from the side of Yisrael the lesser, who is Metatron (וְאִית מ״ט אַנְפִּין לְתַתָּא מִסִּטְרָא דְיִשְׂרָאֵל זוּטָא דְאִיהוּ מטטרו״ן), and he is forty-nine aspects (וְאִיהוּ מ״ט אַנְפִּין). And in them shine the masters of Mishnah (וּבְהוֹן יַזְהִירוּ מָארֵי מִשְׁנָה), for it is secondary to the Halakhah, his maidservant (דְאִיהִי תִנְיָינָא לַהֲלָכָה שִׁפְחָה דִילֵיהּ), as it is said: “For Mordekhai the Jew was second to the king” (Esther 10:3) (בְּגִין כִּי מָרְדְּכַי הַיְּהוּדִי מִשְׁנֶה לַמֶּלֶךְ).
In this likeness: Mishnah-second to the king And in it shine the masters of the Mishnayot (וּבֵיהּ יַזְהִירוּ מָארֵי מַתְנִיתִין), as the brightness of the firmament-this is Halakhah (כְּזֹהַר הָרָקִיעַ דָּא הֲלָכָה), for it is a Kabbalah to Moshe from Sinai (דְאִיהִי קַבָּלָה לְמֹשֶׁה מִסִּינַי). And how many maidens she has, which are the decided halakhot About them it is said (Song of Songs 6:8): “And maidens without number” (דְּאִתְּמַר בְּהוֹן וַעֲלָמוֹת אֵין מִסְפָּר). And she ascends above them all (וְאִיהִי סָלְקָא עַל כֻּלְּהוּ), as it is written (Proverbs 31:29): “But you have surpassed them all” (הֲדָא הוּא דִכְתִיב וְאַתְּ עָלִית עַל כֻּלָּנָה). And she is with them all, as the Sages established: the Halakhah is according to the majority
“And those who make the many righteous”-in her they shall be as the stars forever and ever Truly as the stars, for they have no number For each star is called a single world (דְּכָל כּוֹכָבָא וְכוֹכָבָא אִתְקְרֵי עָלְמָא יְחִידָא), and this is: “And maidens without number” (וְדָא הוּא וַעֲלָמוֹת אֵין מִסְפָּר). And these maidens-read not maidens (‘alamot), but worlds (‘olamot) For the Tzaddikim are as the stars (וּבְגִין דְּצַדִּיקַיָּיא אִינוּן כַּכֹּכָבִים), and each has a star (וְכָל חַד אִית לֵיהּ כֹּכָב). Therefore the ancients established: every Tzaddik has a world of his own And whoever merits a single Halakhah inherits a single world
All the more so one who merits a single tractate, or two, or sixty About them it is said (Song of Songs 6:8): “Sixty are the queens” (דְּאִתְּמַר בְּהוֹן שִׁשִּׁים הֵמָּה מְלָכוֹת). For every tractate is the Matronita in herself Fortunate is he who inherits her in this world, that is, the youthful Halakhah of the Matronita, which is Kabbalah Fortunate are those who labor in the Shekhinta, for She is above them all in the Halakhah, to bring Her forth from exile About Her it is said (Isaiah 50:1): “For your iniquities was your mother sent away” (דְּאִתְּמַר בָּהּ וּבְפִשְׁעִיכֶם שֻׁלְּחָה אִמְּכֶם). And to go to Her Husband, to be to Her a Kabbalah in His arms (וּלְמֵיזַל לָהּ לְגַבֵּי בַּעִלָהּ, לְמֶהֱוֵי לָהּ קַבָּלָה בִּדְרוֹעוֹי), to fulfill in Her (Song of Songs 2:6): “His left hand under my head, etc.”
In exile, Mishnah-which is Metatron-rules (דִּבְגָלוּתָא מִשְׁנָ״ה דְאִיהִי מטטרו״ן שָׁלְטָא), and he is second to the King (וְאִיהוּ מִשְׁנֶה לַמֶּלֶךְ). In the place where the Matronita sits-there is the Mishnah And this is (Proverbs 30:23): “And a maidservant when she inherits her mistress” (וְדָא אִיהוּ וְשִׁפְחָה כִּי תִירַשׁ גְּבִירְתָּהּ). And in the days of Moshe, the maidservant did not rule, but the Matronita After Moshe died, and Yehoshua inherited, who is a youth, then in the place of Malkhut the maidservant ruled As you say (Joshua 5:14): “I am the captain of the host of Hashem; now I have come” (כְּמָה דְאַתְּ אָמַר אֲנִי שַׂר צְבָא יי עַתָּה בָאתִי).
And behold, we have established: Metatron is Ma‘aseh Merkavah And about it, it is said: “One does not expound Ma‘aseh Merkavah in the presence of one” (וַעֲלֵיהּ אִתְּמַר אֵין דּוֹרְשִׁין בְּמֶרְכָּבָה בְּיָחִיד). What is “in the presence of one”? In the presence of the Yachid of the world Unless he is wise and understands of his own knowledge (אֶלָּא אִם כֵּן הָיָה חָכָם וּמֵבִין מִדַּעְתּוֹ): wise in Chokhmah, understanding in Binah, and knowing in Da‘at (חָכָם בְּחָכְמָה וּמֵבִין בְּבִינָה וְיוֹדֵעַ בְּדַעַת). About them it is said (Exodus 31:3): “And I filled him with the spirit of Elohim, in Chokhmah, in Tevunah, and in Da‘at” (דְּאִתְּמַר בְּהוֹן וָאֲמַלֵּא אוֹתוֹ רוּחַ אֱלֹהִי״ם בְּחָכְמָה בִתְבוּנָה וּבְדַעַת). For he is the Mishkan, which is filled with these three levels And “in all workmanship”-this is Ma‘aseh Bereshit, the lower Shekhinta And about her it is said: “One does not expound Ma‘aseh Bereshit with two, unless in the Union of the world” (דְּאֵין דּוֹרְשִׁין לָהּ בְּעוֹבָדָא דִבְּרֵאשִׁית בִּשְׁנַיִם, אֶלָּא בְיִחוּדָא דְעָלְמָא). Her Merkavah is Metatron, the body of the Shekhinta And the Shekhinta is M”H, Yod–He–Vav–He, She is called (וּשְׁכִינְתָּא אִיהִי מ״ה יו״ד ה״א וָא״ו ה״א אִתְקְרִיאַת), because She is the totality of the ten Sefirot (בְּגִין דְּאִיהִי כְּלָלָא דַעֲשַׂר סְפִירָן), Her chariot is Metatron (רֶכֶב דִּילָהּ מטטרו״ן), about him it is said (עֲלֵיהּ אִתְּמַר) (Psalms 68) “The chariots of Elohim are myriads, thousands upon thousands” (רֶכֶב אֱלֹהִי״ם רִבּוֹתַיִם אַלְפֵי שִׁנְאָן).
What is Shin’an? (מַאי שִׁנְאָ״ן) Ox, eagle, lion, man (שׁוֹר נֶשֶׁר אַרְיֵה אָדָם). And this is the secret of the Merkavah (וְדָא אִיהוּ סוֹד מֶרְכָּבָ״ה), a chariot of M”H indeed (רֶכֶ״ב מ״ה וַדַּאי). And Metatron, he is the Ark (וּמטטרו״ן אִיהוּ אָרוֹן), the body for the Written Orayta (גּוּפָא לְאוֹרַיְּיתָא דְבִכְתָב), which is the Middle Pillar (דְּאִיהוּ עַמּוּדָא דְאֶמְצָעִיתָא). And he is the Table (וְאִיהוּ שֻׁלְחָן), the banquet-table of the Shekhinta (פָּתוֹרָא דִשְׁכִינְתָּא), which is the heart (דְאִיהִי לֵ״ב), about which it is said “a heart that understands” (דְּאִתְּמַר בֵּיהּ לֵ״ב מֵבִין). And he is to the left (וְאִיהוּ לִשְׂמָאלָא), and because of this the Masters of the Mishnah said (וּבְגִין דָּא אָמְרוּ מָארֵי מַתְנִיתִין): “The Table is in the north” (שֻׁלְחָן בַּצָּפוֹן). And he is the Menorah, a burning flame from the side of the Shekhinta (וְאִיהוּ מְנוֹרָה נוּר דָּלִיק מִסִּטְרָא דִשְׁכִינְתָּא), about which it is said “the lamp of YHVH” (דְאִתְּמַר בָּהּ נֵר יהו״ה). And it must be to the right, to receive the oil (וְצָרִיךְ לְמֶהֱוֵי לִימִינָא לְקַבָּלָא מִשְׁחָא), and because of this the Menorah is in the south (וּבְגִין דָּא מְנוֹרָה בְּדָרוֹם).
This is the vessel to receive the wick, the oil, and the light (דָּא אִיהוּ מָאנָא לְקַבָּלָא פְּתִילָה וּמִשְׁחָא וּנְהוֹרָא): the wick is the Shekhinta (פְּתִילָה שְׁכִינָה), her oil is the Tzaddik, “pure beaten oil” (מִשְׁחָא דִילָהּ צַדִּיק שֶׁמֶן כָּתִית), her light is the Middle Pillar (נְהוֹרָא דִילָהּ עַמּוּדָא דְאֶמְצָעִיתָא). In this manner, the soul-for it is the partnership of the body (כְּגַוְונָא דָא נַפְשָׁא דְאִיהִי שִׁתּוּפָא דְגוּפָא): it is the wick (אִיהִי פְּתִילָה), the Ruach is the oil (רוּחַ דָּא מִשְׁחָא), the light is the Neshama (נְהוֹרָא דָא נִשְׁמָתָא), the vessel is the body (מָאנָא דָא גוּפָא). He is a servant (אִיהוּ עִבֶד), and he is a chariot for these three sides (וְאִיהוּ רֶכֶב לִתְלַת סִטְרִין אִלֵּין), which are a bond of one union (דְּאִינוּן קִיטוּרָא דְיִחוּדָא חֲדָא), which are “the lamp of YHVH, the Neshama of man” (דְּאִינוּן נֵר יהו״ה נִשְׁמַת אָדָם) (Proverbs 20).
