Chapter Five (פֶּרֶק חֲמִישִׁי)
The reason the second head is called Reisha DeEin [the Head of Nothingness] (טַעַם שֶׁנִּקְרָא הָרֹאשׁ הַשֵּׁנִי רֵישָׁא דְאֵין), is because it is built from the letters of the name M"H (מִפְּנֵי שֶׁהִיא נִבְנֵית מֵאוֹתִיּוֹת שֶׁל שֵׁם מ״ה), which is the filling with Alephin (שֶׁהוּא מִלּוּי אַלְפִין), and therefore the Aleph of Ein alludes to this (וְלָזֶה רוֹמֶזֶת הָאָלֶ״ף שֶׁל אֵי״ן). And the Yod of Ein alludes to Reisha DeLa Ityada [the Unknowable Head] within it (וְיו״ד שֶׁל אֵין רוֹמֵז עַל רֵישָׁא דְלָא אִתְיְדַע שֶׁבְּתוֹכוֹ), which is built from the name of the filling with Yodin as mentioned (שֶׁהוּא נִבְנֶה מִשֵּׁם שֶׁל מִלּוּי יוּדִין כַּנִּזְכָּר), which is hidden within it (שֶׁהוּא נֶעְלָם בּוֹ). And the Nun of Ein alludes to Reisha DeArich Anpin [the Head of Arich Anpin] (וְהַנוּ״ן שֶׁל אֵין לִרְמוֹז עַל רֵישָׁא דַאֲרִיךְ אַנְפִּין), which attaches itself to Reisha DeEin as stated (שֶׁהִיא מִתְדַּבֶּקֶת עִם רֵישָׁא דְאֵין כָּאָמוּר). And because only half of the Gulgalta [skull] is visible from Reisha DeEin, as I shall explain (וּלְהִיוֹת שֶׁאֵינוֹ נִרְאֶה מֵרֵישָׁא דְאֵין כִּי אִם חֲצִי הַגֻּלְגַּלְתָּא בִּלְבַד כַּאֲשֶׁר אֲבָאֵר), therefore it is called Reisha [Head] (לָזֶה נִקְרָא רֵישָׁא). And the reason it is called Ein [Nothingness] (וְטַעַם שֶׁנִּקְרָא אֵין), is because it is built from these three fillings of the names of Ein (מִפְּנֵי שֶׁהִיא נִבְנֵית מֵאֵלּוּ הַשְּׁלֹשָׁה מִלּוּאִים שֶׁל שֵׁמוֹת אֵין), for the Nun, namely five times ten, is Nun (שֶׁהַנוּ״ן הַיְינוּ ה׳ פְּעָמִים עֶשֶׂר הוּא נוּ״ן). And the explanation of the word Ein is (וּפֵירוּשׁ מִלַּת אֵין הוּא), namely a head that possesses Alephin, Yodin, and Nunin (כְּלוֹמַר רֹאשׁ שֶׁיֵּשׁ בּוֹ אַלְפִין יוּדִין נוּנִין). The Aleph is its vessel (א׳ הִיא הַכְּלִי שֶׁלָּהּ), the Yod is the Neshamah (י׳ הִיא הַנְּשָׁמָה), the Nun is the remainder of the Partzuf (הַנוּ״ן הִיא שְׁאָר הַפַּרְצוּף), which is covered and attached within Arich Anpin (שֶׁהוּא מְכוּסֶּה וּמְדֻבָּק בַּאֲרִיךְ אַנְפִּין), which is the great and elongated Nun as we said (שֶׁהִיא הַנוּ״ן הַגְּדוֹלָה וְהָאֲרוּכָה כְּמוֹ שֶׁאָמַרְנוּ). And there is room to ask (וְיֵשׁ לִשְׁאוֹל), for within the aforementioned names of the fillings there is no letter Nun (כִּי אֵין בְּשֵׁמוֹת הַמִּלּוּאִים הַנִּזְכָּרִים אוֹת נ׳), if so what are we to do with the Nun here (אִם כֵּן מַה לַעֲשׂוֹת מֵהַנוּ״ן כָּאן)?
The answer is (תְּשׁוּבָה): for the letter Nun stands in place of the Heh in this manner (כִּי אוֹת נ׳ הִיא בִּמְקוֹם ה׳ בְּזֶה הָאֹפֶן), for the Aleph of Ein is in the name M"H (כִּי הָאָלֶ״ף שֶׁל אֵין הִיא בְּשֵׁם מ״ה), which possesses ten letters (שֶׁיֵּשׁ בּוֹ י׳ אוֹתִיּוֹת), and the Yod is an allusion to Chokhmah (וְהַיו״ד הִיא רֶמֶז לְחָכְמָה), which is the Neshamah of Chokhmah (שֶׁהִיא נְשָׁמָה שֶׁל חָכְמָה), and the Chokhmah is hidden and attached within Binah (וְהַחָכְמָה הִיא נֶעְלֶמֶת וּמִתְדַּבֶּקֶת בְּבִינָה), and the Heh that we mentioned is Binah itself (וְהַה׳ שֶׁאָמַרְנוּ הִיא בִּינָה עַצְמָהּ).
It follows (נִמְצָא), that within Binah there is the Yod of Chokhmah and her Heh (שֶׁבְּבִינָה יֵשׁ י׳ שֶׁל חָכְמָה וְהַה׳ שֶׁלָּהּ), and calculate five times ten, namely the Nun (וְתַחְשֹׁב ה׳ פְּעָמִים י׳ הַיְינוּ הַנוּ״ן), and therefore there are fifty gates of Binah (וְלָכֵן הֵם נ׳ שַׁעֲרֵי בִינָה), for by reversing Sha‘ar [gate] you find ten (כִּי בַּהֲפוֹךְ שַׁעַר תִּמְצָא עֶשֶׂר), to allude to five times ten (לִרְמוֹז עַל ה׳ פְּעָמִים עֶשֶׂר). And the reason the third is called Reisha DeArich Anpin [the Head of Arich Anpin] (וְטַעַם הַשְּׁלִישִׁית הַנִּקְרֵאת רֵישָׁא דַאֲרִיךְ אַנְפִּין), is because from it as well only the head is visible (לִהְיוֹת כִּי גַּם מִמֶּנָּה אֵינָהּ נִרְאֵית כִּי אִם הָרֹאשׁ), for all the rest of the Partzuf is covered within Abba and Imma, Ze’ir Anpin and his Nukvah, as we shall explain (שֶׁשְׁאָר כָּל הַפַּרְצוּף הוּא מְכוּסֶּה בְּאַבָּא וְאִמָּא זְעֵיר וְנוּקְבֵיהּ כַּאֲשֶׁר נְפָרֵשׁ). Therefore it is called Reisha [Head] (לָזֶה נִקְרָא רֵישָׁא), and it is called Arich [Long] (וְנִקְרָא אֲרִיךְ), because her legs reach until the floor of the Tehiru (מִפְּנֵי כִּי רַגְלֶיהָ מַגִּיעוֹת עַד קַרְקַע הַטְּהִירוּ), and it is called Anpin [Faces] (וְנִקְרָא אַנְפִּין), because it is entirely face and possesses no back side (מִפְּנֵי שֶׁכּוּלָּהּ פָּנִים וְאֵין בָּהּ אָחוֹר), because it is entirely mercy (מִפְּנֵי שֶׁכּוּלָּהּ רַחֲמִים), and no judgment is visible within it at all (וְאֵין נִרְאֶה בָּהּ דִּין כְּלָל), because of her great purity and subtlety (מֵרֹב זַכּוּתָהּ וְדַקּוּתָהּ), and every place of judgment is back side (וְכָל מְקוֹם דִּין הוּא אֲחוֹרַיִים), and therefore all her Partzuf is called Anpin [Faces] (וְלָכֵן כָּל פַּרְצוּף שֶׁלָּהּ נִקְרָא אַנְפִּין), which is face (שֶׁהוּא פָּנִים), for within her are her own face and the face of Chokhmah (שֶׁיֵּשׁ בָּהּ פָּנִים שֶׁלָּהּ וּפָנִים שֶׁל חָכְמָה).
