Chapter One (פֶּרֶק רִאשׁוֹן)

We said (אָמַרְנוּ), that the Binah of the World of Tohu (שֶׁהַבִּינָה שֶׁל עוֹלָם הַתֹּהוּ), took seven Keter, seven Chokhmah, and seven Binah (לָקְחָה ז׳ כְּתָרִים וְז׳ חָכְמוֹת וְז׳ בִּינוֹת), from the seven lights of the Shattered Vessels (מִז׳ אוֹרוֹת שֶׁל שִׁבְרֵי כֵלִים), and sent them upward (וְשָׁלְחָה אוֹתָם לְמַעְלָה), and from them were made the Three Heads (וְנַעֲשׂוּ מֵהֶם תְּלַת רֵישִׁין), and the remainder fell below (וְהַשְּׁאָר נָפַל לְמַטָּה), and was elevated through the folding of Arich Anpin (וְנִתְעַלָּה עַל יְדֵי קִפּוּל אֲרִיךְ), as I shall explain with the help of Hashem and His salvation (כַּאֲשֶׁר אֲבָאֵר בְּעֶזְרַת ה׳ וּבִישׁוּעָתוֹ). And know (וְדַע לְךָ), that the Inner Light [Ohr haPenimi] of all the seven lower Sefirot (שֶׁאוֹר הַפְּנִימִי שֶׁל כָּל ז׳ סְפִירוֹת הָאַחֲרוֹנוֹת), which were seventy myriads of letters (שֶׁהָיוּ ע׳ רִבּוֹא אוֹתִיּוֹת), when their vessels were shattered (כֵּיוָן שֶׁנִּשְׁבְּרוּ כְלֵיהֶם), went upward (הָלְכוּ לְמַעְלָה), and continued ascending (וְהָיוּ הוֹלְכִים וְעוֹלִים), until they entered the womb of Imma (עַד שֶׁנִּכְנְסוּ בִּמְעֵי אִמָּא), and when Imma saw that they were ascending (וְאִמָּא כֵּיוָן שֶׁרָאֲתָה שֶׁהָיוּ עוֹלִים), she enlarged a place for them within herself (הִרְחִיבָה לָהֶם מָקוֹם בְּתוֹכָהּ), so that they would be able to ascend into Abba (כְּדֵי שֶׁיּוּכְלוּ לַעֲלוֹת אֶל תּוֹךְ אַבָּא). And when they entered into Abba (וְכֵיוָן שֶׁנִּכְנְסוּ אֶל תּוֹךְ אַבָּא), he too enlarged a place for them (הִרְחִיב לָהֶם גַּם הוּא מָקוֹם), so that they could ascend into the Keter (שֶׁיּוּכְלוּ לַעֲלוֹת אֶל תּוֹךְ הַכֶּתֶר), but the Keter did not wish to receive them (וְהַכֶּתֶר לֹא רָצָה לְקַבְּלָם), because they had already become embodied and descended (מִפְּנֵי שֶׁכְּבָר נִתְגַּלְמוּ וְיָרְדוּ), and they entered once again into Abba (וְנִכְנְסוּ פַּעַם אַחֶרֶת אֶל תּוֹךְ אַבָּא), and he thought to sustain them within himself (וְהוּא חָשַׁב לְקַיְּמָם בְּתוֹכוֹ), but could not (וְלֹא יָכוֹל), and he cracked open (וְנִסְדַּק). And from this crack emerged these seventy myriads of letters of which we spoke (וְיָצְאוּ מִמֶּנָּה אֵלּוּ הָע׳ רִבּוֹא אוֹתִיּוֹת שֶׁאָמַרְנוּ), which were literally the inner abundance of the seven lights of the shattered vessels (שֶׁהָיָה מַמָּשׁ הַשֶּׁפַע הַפְּנִימִי שֶׁל ז׳ אוֹרוֹת שֶׁל הַכֵּלִים הַנִּשְׁבָּרִים), that emerged from the inwardness of Binah (שֶׁיָּצְאוּ מִפְּנִימִיּוּת הַבִּינָה), which is the mother (שֶׁהִיא הָאֵם), who apportioned portions from her Inner Light [Ohr haPenimi] to her seven sons (שֶׁחִלְּקָה חֲלָקִים מֵאוֹר פְּנִימִי שֶׁלָּהּ לְז׳ בָּנֶיהָ). And from the window of this crack (וּמֵחַלּוֹן שֶׁל סְדִיקָה זוֹ), lights emerge every day continually (יוֹצְאִים אוֹרוֹת בְּכָל יוֹם תָּמִיד), and illuminate all the worlds (וּמְאִירִים לְכָל הָעוֹלָמוֹת), for all the worlds require them (שֶׁכָּל הָעוֹלָמוֹת צְרִיכִין לָהֶם), and these lights are called Novlot [Droppings] (וְנִקְרְאוּ אֵלּוּ הָאוֹרוֹת נוֹבָלוֹת), because these Novlot [Droppings] are analogous to them (מִפְּנֵי שֶׁכֵּן הַנּוֹבָלוֹת הָאֵלּוּ הֵם דּוּגְמָתָם), which every day drip and descend and fall little by little from the tree (שֶׁבְּכָל יוֹם נוֹטְפִים וְיוֹרְדִים וְנוֹבְלִים מְעַט מְעַט מִן הָאִילָן). And when they emerged from Abba (וְכֵיוָן שֶׁיָּצְאוּ מֵאַבָּא), they entered into Imma (נִכְנְסוּ בְאִמָּא), and when she saw that they had descended (וְהִיא כֵּיוָן שֶׁרָאֲתָה שֶׁיָּרְדוּ), she wished to sustain them within herself (רָצְתָה לְקַיְּמָם בְּתוֹכָהּ), but could not (וְלֹא יָכְלָה), and she too cracked open (וְנִסְדְּקָה גַּם הִיא), and from her emerged forty-nine myriads of letters (וְיָצָא מִמֶּנָּה מ״ט רִבּוֹא אוֹתִיּוֹת), from those seventy myriads of letters (מֵאֵלּוּ הַשִּׁבְעִים רִבּוֹא אוֹתִיּוֹת), and they are the very essence of the drop of Ze’ir Anpin (וְהֵם עַצְמִיּוּת טִפַּת זְעֵיר אַנְפִּין). And the remaining twenty-one (וְהַכ״א הַנִּשְׁאָרִים), the Holy One, blessed be He, hinted to her that she should send them to the Keter (רָמַז לָהֶם הקב״ה שֶׁתְּשַׁלְּחֵם לַכֶּתֶר), so that they would become the three Partzufim of the three Heads (כְּדֵי שֶׁיַּעֲשׂוּ ג׳ פַּרְצוּפִין שֶׁל ג׳ רָאשִׁים), namely the Three Heads (דְּהַיְינוּ תְּלַת רֵישִׁין), and this light is called the Inner Light [Ohr haPenimi] (וְזֶה הָאוֹר נִקְרָא אוֹר פְּנִימִי), of the abundance descending into the seven vessels of Ze’ir Anpin (שֶׁל הַשֶּׁפַע הַיּוֹרֵד לְז׳ כֵּלִים שֶׁל זְעֵיר אַנְפִּין), and it is that which descended below (וְהוּא אֲשֶׁר יָרַד לְמַטָּה), and afterward was elevated through Arich Anpin (וְנִתְעַלָּה אַחַר כָּךְ עַל יְדֵי אֲרִיךְ אַנְפִּין).
