Chapter Thirty-Eight (פֶּרֶק שְׁלֹשִׁים וּשְׁמוֹנָה)

Let us return to what we said (נַחֲזוֹר לְמַה שֶׁאָמַרְנוּ), when the drop that was in Abba, as mentioned (כְּשֶׁעָבְרָה הַטִּפָּה שֶׁהָיְתָה בְּאַבָּא כַּנִּזְכָּר), passed through Imma (דֶּרֶךְ אִמָּא), then the Malkhut of Tevunah separated and took for herself half of the point from the point of the tail of that drop (אָז מַלְכוּת שֶׁל תְּבוּנָה הִפְרִישָׁה וְלָקְחָה לְעַצְמָהּ חֲצִי הַנְּקוּדָה מִנְּקוּדַת הַזָּנָב שֶׁל הַטִּפָּה). In this manner (בְּאוֹפֶן זֶה), that when Ze’ir emerged from the womb of Imma (שֶׁכְּשֶׁיָּצָא זְעֵיר מִבֶּטֶן אִמָּא), there was attached to him only half of the point of the tail of that drop (לֹא הָיָה דָּבוּק עִמּוֹ אֶלָּא חֲצִי נְקוּדַת הַזָּנָב שֶׁל הַטִּפָּה הַהוּא), which is in the secret of Rachel attached to Ze’ir from behind him between his arms (שֶׁהִיא בְּסוֹד רָחֵל הַדְּבוּקָה בִּזְעֵיר מֵאֲחוֹרוֹי מִבֵּין חַדְוֹהִי). And afterward (וְאַחַר־כָּךְ), when Imma bestowed upon Ze’ir after the Yenikah [Nursing] (כְּשֶׁהִשְׁפִּיעָה אִמָּא בִּזְעֵיר אַחַר הַיְנִיקָה), through that bestowal (בַּהַשְׁפָּעָה הַהִיא), she also bestowed upon him the half point of the aforementioned tail (הִשְׁפִּיעָה לוֹ גַּם כֵּן חֲצִי נְקוּדוֹת הַזָּנָב הַנִּזְכָּר), which is the secret of Leah (שֶׁהִיא סוֹד לֵאָה). And because that point did not find a place to emerge from between his arms (וּלְפִי שֶׁהַנְּקוּדָה הַהִיא לֹא מָצְאָה מָקוֹם לָצֵאת מִבֵּין חַדְוֹי), since Rachel occupied that place (לִהְיוֹת שָׁם מְקוֹם רָחֵל), nor did it find a place to emerge from above through the cavities of the brain (וְגַם לֹא מָצְאָה מָקוֹם לָצֵאת מִלְמַעְלָה דֶּרֶךְ חַלְלֵי הַמּוֹחַ), because of the hairs of Arich that cover the hairs of Ze’ir (לְסִבַּת שְׂעָרוֹת דַּאֲרִיךְ הַמְכַסִּים עַל שְׂעָרוֹת דִּזְעֵיר), therefore it emerged through the nape (לָכֵן יָצְאָה דֶּרֶךְ הָעֹרֶף), which is the point of the Luz (שֶׁהוּא נְקוּדַת הַלּוּז), which is the center and corner of the dough of Ze’ir (שֶׁהוּא מֶרְכָּז וּפִנַּת עִיסַת הַזְּעֵיר), and there it remained attached to Ze’ir (וְשָׁם נִשְׁאֲרָה דְּבוּקָה עִם זְעֵיר), and became in the secret of a Partzuf [Configuration] (וְנַעֲשֵׂתָה בְּסוֹד פַּרְצוּף), and her feet reach to the head of Rachel (וְרַגְלֶיהָ מַגִּיעוֹת עַל רֹאשָׁהּ שֶׁל רָחֵל).

It follows (נִמְצָא), that the extension of the aforementioned Partzuf [Configuration] of Leah (שֶׁהִתְפַּשְּׁטוּת פַּרְצוּף לֵאָה הַנִּזְכֶּרֶת), was until the end of the upper third of the Tiferet of Ze’ir (הָיָה עַד סוֹף הַשְּׁלִישׁ הָעֶלְיוֹן שֶׁל תּ״ת דִּזְעֵיר), and therefore the Mezuzah is established, which is in the secret of Leah (וְלָכֵן קוֹבְעִים הַמְּזוּזָה שֶׁהִיא בְּסוֹד לֵאָה), in the upper third of the doorpost (בִּשְׁלִישׁ הָעֶלְיוֹן שֶׁל מְזוּזַת הַפֶּתַח), for Mezuzah has the numerical value of sixty-five (כִּי מְזוּזָה גִּימַטְרִיָּה ס״ה), corresponding to Adonai (כְּמִנְיַן אֲדֹנָ״י), which alludes to Malkhut (הָרוֹמֵז לְמַלְכוּת). And because the place of the beginning of her extension, which is the place of the Luz (וּלְפִי שֶׁמְּקוֹם תְּחִלַּת הִתְפַּשְּׁטוּתָהּ שֶׁהוּא מְקוֹם הַלּוּז), is distant from the crown of the head by a handbreadth (רָחוֹק מֵהַקָּדְקֹד טֶפַח), therefore it must be affixed distant from the lintel by a handbreadth (לָכֵן צָרִיךְ שֶׁתְּהֵא נִקְבַּעַת רָחוֹק מֵהַמַּשְׁקוֹף טֶפַח), which is the secret of the upper third of the Tiferet of Ze’ir (שֶׁהוּא סוֹד שְׁלִישׁ הָעֶלְיוֹן שֶׁל תּ״ת דִּזְעֵיר). And this is the secret of Luz, which is the opening (וְזֶהוּ סוֹד לוּז שֶׁהִיא הַפֶּתַח), for from there she begins to clothe Ze’ir in her Partzuf [Configuration] (שֶׁמִּשָּׁם מַתְחֶלֶת לְהַלְבִּישׁ זְעֵיר בְּפַרְצוּף שֶׁלָּהּ), and she concludes at the end of the upper third of the Tiferet, above the head of Rachel (וּמְסַיֶּמֶת בְּסוֹף שְׁלִישׁ הָעֶלְיוֹן שֶׁל תּ״ת עַל רֹאשׁ רָחֵל), who begins to clothe there from half of his navel until his end (שֶׁמַּתְחֶלֶת לְהִתְלַבֵּשׁ שָׁם מֵחֲצִי טַבּוּרוֹ עַד סוֹפוֹ). And this is the secret of what our Rabbis of blessed memory said (וְזֶהוּ סוֹד שֶׁאָמְרוּ חז״ל), “One kingdom does not touch another kingdom even by a hairbreadth” (אֵין מַלְכוּת נוֹגַעַת בַּחֲבֶרְתָּהּ אֲפִלּוּ כִּמְלֹא נִימָא) (Berakhot 48b / Yoma 38b), for each one has its own boundary (שֶׁכָּל אֶחָד יֵשׁ לוֹ גְּבוּל בִּפְנֵי עַצְמוֹ).
