Chapter 23, Section 5 (פֶּרֶק כ״ג אוֹת ה׳)
5. And why was his name called Anfiyā’el (ה. וְלָמָּה נִקְרָא שְׁמוֹ עַנְפִיאֵ״ל)? Because of the branch of crownings of crowns (מִפְּנֵי עֲנַף כִּתְרֵי כִּתְרִים) that was placed upon his head (שֶׁהָיָה מֻנָּח בְּרֹאשׁוֹ), a canopy covering and veiling all the chambers of the Heikhal of Aravot (חֻפָּה וּמִתְכַּסֶּה אֶת כָּל חַדְרֵי הֵיכַל עֲרָבוֹת), the firmament like the Former of Creation (רָקִיעַ כְּיוֹצֵר בְּרֵאשִׁית). What is the Former of Creation? (מָה יוֹצֵר בְּרֵאשִׁית) A verse is written concerning Him (כָּתוּב מִקְרָא עָלָיו): “He covered the heavens with His glory” (Chavakuk 3:3) (כִּסָּה שָׁמַיִם הוֹדוֹ). So too Anfiyā’el the prince (אַף עַנְפִיאֵ״ל הַשַּׂר), a servant who is called by the name of his Master-thus it is (עֶבֶד שֶׁנִּקְרָא עַל שֵׁם רַבּוֹ כָּךְ). And why is he beloved more than all the guardians of the six entrances of the Heikhalot? (וְלָמָּה חָבִיב מִכָּל שׁוֹמְרֵי שֵׁשֶׁת פִּתְחֵי הֵיכָלוֹת) Because he opens the entrance of the seventh Heikhal (מִפְּנֵי שֶׁפּוֹתֵחַ פֶּתַח הֵיכָל הַשְּׁבִיעִי), and two hundred ninety-six faces are in each of the Holy Living Creatures (וּמָאתַיִם תִּשְׁעִים וָשֵׁשׁ פָּנִים יֵשׁ בְּכָל חַיּוֹת הַקֹּדֶשׁ), corresponding to the entrance of the seventh Heikhal (נֶגֶד פֶּתַח הֵיכָל הַשְּׁבִיעִי).
