Chapter 24, Section 2 (פֶּרֶק כ״ד אוֹת ב׳)

2. And when that man sought to descend into the Merkavah (ב. וְכֵיוָן שֶׁהָיָה אוֹתוֹ הָאָדָם מְבַקֵּשׁ לֵרֵד בַּמֶּרְכָּבָה), Anfiyā’el the prince would open the doors of the seventh Heikhal (הָיָה עַנְפִיאֵ״ל הַשַּׂר פּוֹתֵחַ דַּלְתוֹת הֵיכָל הַשְּׁבִיעִי), and that man would enter and stand at the threshold of the entrance to the seventh Heikhal (וְהָיָה אוֹתוֹ הָאָדָם נִכְנָס וְעוֹמֵד עַל מִפְתַּן פֶּתַח הֵיכָל הַשְּׁבִיעִי), and the Holy Living Creatures would lift their gaze upon him (וְחַיּוֹת הַקֹּדֶשׁ נוֹשְׂאוֹת בּוֹ) with five hundred and twelve eyes (חֲמֵשׁ מֵאוֹת וּשְׁתֵּים עֶשְׂרֵה עֵינַיִם). And each and every eye of the eyes of the Holy Living Creatures (וְכָל עַיִן וָעַיִן מֵעֵינֵי חַיּוֹת הַקֹּדֶשׁ) was open like the measure of a great sieve of the Notzrim (פְּקוּעָה כְּשִׁעוּר כַּבְרָה גְּדוֹלָה שֶׁל נוֹצְרִים), and the appearance of their eyes was as lightning flashes darting forth (וּמַרְאֵה עֵינֵיהֶם כַּבְּרָקִים יָרוּצּוּ), except for the eyes of the Cheruvim of Might (חוּץ מֵעֵינֵי כְּרוּבֵי הַגְּבוּרָה) and the Ofanim of the Shekhinah (וְאוֹפַנֵי הַשְּׁכִינָה), which are like torches of light and flames of broom-coals (שֶׁהֵם דּוֹמִים לִלְפִידֵי אוֹר וּשְׁלַהֲבוֹת גַּחֲלֵי רְתָמִים).
