Chapter 4, Section 1 (פֶּרֶק ד׳ אוֹת א׳)

1. And when all who are in the heights see (א וּכְשֶׁרוֹאִין כָּל מִי שֶׁבַּמָּרוֹם), as he goes and comes (כְּשֶׁהוּא הוֹלֵךְ וָבָא), up to the firmament above the heads of the Keruvim (עַד הָרָקִיעַ שֶׁעַל רָאשֵׁי הַכְּרוּבִים), and above the heads of the Ofanim (וְשֶׁעַל רָאשֵׁי הָאוֹפַנִּים), and above the heads of the Holy Living Creatures (וְשֶׁעַל רָאשֵׁי חַיּוֹת הַקֹּדֶשׁ), they recoil and are shaken (מֵרַתְּעִין וּמִתְבַּהֲלִין), and faint and fall on their faces and backward (וּמִתְעַלְּפִין וְנוֹפְלִין עַל פְּנֵיהֶם וּלְאַחוֹרֵיהֶם), across one hundred eighty-five thousand myriads of parasangs (בְּמֵאָה וּשְׁמוֹנִים וַחֲמִשָּׁה אֲלָפִים רְבָבוֹת פַּרְסָאוֹת). No creature is able to touch that place (אֵין כָּל בְּרִיָּה יְכוֹלָה לָגַעַת בַּמָּקוֹם הַהוּא), because of the fiery serpents (מִפְּנֵי זוֹחֲלֵי אֵשׁוֹת), that are stirred and go forth from the mouths of the Ofanim (שֶׁמְּעוֹרְרִים וְיוֹצְאִים מִפִּי הָאוֹפַנִּים), and from the mouths of the Holy Living Creatures (וּמִפִּי חַיּוֹת הַקֹּדֶשׁ), and from the mouths of the Keruvim (וּמִפִּי הַכְּרוּבִים), who open their mouths to say: “Kadosh, Kadosh, Kadosh” (שֶׁפּוֹתְחִין פִּיהֶם לוֹמַר: קָדוֹשׁ קָדוֹשׁ קָדוֹשׁ), at the time when Yisrael says: “Kadosh, Kadosh, Kadosh, Hashem…” (בַּשָּׁעָה שֶׁיִּשְׂרָאֵל אוֹמְרִים: קָדוֹשׁ קָדוֹשׁ קָדוֹשׁ ה׳ וגו׳).
