The First Firmament
הָרָקִיעַ הָרִאשׁוֹן
The name of the first firmament is called Shamayim (Heavens) (שֵׁם הָרָקִיעַ הָרִאשׁוֹן הַנִּקְרָא שָׁמַיִם), within it are filled camps (בּוֹ מַחֲנוֹת מְלֵאִים), the sun and its fullness (חַמָּה וּשְׂבָעוֹ), and thrones prepared there (כִּסְאוֹת מוּכָנִים שָׁם), and upon them sit seven officers (וַעֲלֵיהֶם שִׁבְעָה שׁוֹטְרִים יוֹשְׁבִים), surrounded by flame (וּמַקִּיפִים לַהַב), camps from this side and from that side (מַחֲנוֹת מִזֶּה וּמִזֶּה), and they are heard by men (וְנִשְׁמָעִים לִבְנֵי אָדָם), at the time of their engagement (בִּשְׁעַת עִסְקָם), for anyone who has learned how to stand (לְכָל הַלָּמֵז לַעֲמוֹד), to pour libation, to place them, and to mention them (לְנַסֵּךְ לְשַׂמְתָּם וּלְהַזְכִּירָם), at their signs, in the season heard (בְּאוֹתוֹתָם בָּעוֹנָתָם הַנִּשְׁמַעַת), to make successful the deeds of all the camps of these angels (לְהַצְלִיוֹחַ מַעֲשֵׂה כָּל מַחֲנוֹת הַמַּלְאָכִים הָאֵלֶּה). These seven officers rule to send them for every mission (שִׁבְעָה הַשּׁוֹטְרִים הָאֵלֶּה מוֹשְׁלִים לְשַלְּחָם לְכָל חֵפֶץ), to run and to succeed (לָרוּץ וּלְהַצְלִיחַ).
These are the names of the seven officers sitting upon the seven thrones there (אֵלֶּה שְׁמוֹת שִׁבְעָה הַשּׁוֹטְרִים הַיּוֹשְׁבִים עַל שִׁבְעָה כִּסְאוֹת שָׁם): the first is Orfaniel (שֵׁם הָרִאשׁוֹן אוֹרְפַנִיאֵל), the second is Tigrah (וְשֵׁם הַשֵּׁנִי תִּיגְרָה), the third is D’nah’el (וְשֵׁם הַשְּׁלִישִׁי דְּנַהֵל), the fourth is Kalmay (וְשֵׁם הָרְבִיעִי כַלְמַי), the fifth is Asimor (שֵׁם הַחֲמִישִׁי אֲסִימוֹר), the sixth is Piskar (שֵׁם הַשִּׁשִּׁי פִּסְכַּר), the seventh is Bu’el (שַׁע הַשְּׁבִיעִי בּוּאֵל).
All of them are formed of fire (וְכֻלָּם נוֹצָר מֵאֵשׁ), and their appearance is as fire and burning flame (וּמַרְאֵיהֶם כָּאֵשׁ וְאֵשׁ מְלַהֶטֶת), for from fire they emerged (כִּי מֵאֵשׁ יָצְאוּ), and they do not go forth without permission (וְלֹא יֵצְאוּ בִּלְעֲדֵי רְשׁוּת), to engage in any task (לַעֲסֹק דְּבַר מַעֲשֶׂה), until there comes to them a word from the seven officers (עַד שֶׁיֵּצֵא לָהֶם אֹמֶר מִפִּי שִׁבְעָה הַשּׁוֹטְרִים), the throne-sitters who rule over them (יוֹשְׁבֵי הַכִּסְאוֹת הַמּוֹשְׁלִים עֲלֵיהֶם), for under their will they act (כִּי תַּחַת חֶפְצָם הֵם), and by their permission they go (וּבִרְשׁוּתָם יִתְהַלָּכוּ).
And each and every one of them stands upon his task (וְכָל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד מֵהֶם עוֹמֵד עַל מְלַאכְתּוֹ), ready for that which he is sent (מוּעָדִים לַמָּה שֶׁיְּשֻׁלָּחוּ), whether for good or for evil (אִם לְטוֹב אִם לְרָע), for plenty or for lack (אִם לְיוֹתֵר אִם לְמַחְסוֹר), or for war or for peace (אוֹ לְמִלְחָמָה אִם לְשָׁלוֹם), and all of them are called by names from the day they were created (וְכוּלָּם קְרוּאִים בִּשְׁמוֹת מִיּוֹם נִבְרְאוּ).
And these are the names of the seven camps that serve the seven officers (וְאֵלֶּה שְׁמוֹת שִׁבְעָה הַמַּחֲנוֹת הַמְשָׁרְתִים לְשִׁבְעָה הַשּׁוֹטְרִים), for each camp is appointed to one of the officers (כִּי כָל מַחֲנֶה אַחַת לְאֶחָד מִן הַשּׁוֹטְרִים).

And he mentioned the name of the angels who serve before him seven times (וְהִזְכִּיר שֵׁם הַמַּלְאָכִים הַמְשָׁרְתִים לְפָנָיו שֶׁבַע פְּעָמִים), and he said thus: I request, I—[Name], son of [Mother’s name]—before You, that You bring success through healing of [Name], son of [Mother’s name], and all that he seeks for healing, whether in writing or (וְאָמַר כָּךְ: מְבַקֵּשׁ אֲנִי פְּלוֹנִי בֶּן פְּלוֹנִית מִלְּפָנֶיךָ שֶׁתַּצְלִיחַ עַל יְדֵי רְפוּאָה שֶׁל פְּלוֹנִי בֶּן פְּלוֹנִית וְכָל אֲשֶׁר יְבַקֵּשׁ לִרְפוּאָה אִם בִּכְתָב אִם)... in asking (בִּשְׁאֵלָה).
And purify yourself from all impurity (וְטַהֵר עַצְמְךָ מִכָּל טֻמְאָה), and cleanse your flesh from all corruption (וְנַקֵּה בְשָׂרְךָ מִכָּל זִמָּה), and then you shall succeed (וְאָז תַּצְלִיחַ).

And if you seek to send them against your enemy (וְאִם בִּקַּשְׁתָּה לְשַלְּחָם עַל שׂוֹנַאֲךָ), or against your creditor (אוֹ עַל בַּעַל חוֹבְךָ), or to overturn a ship (אוֹ לַהֲפוֹךְ אֳנִיָּה), or to bring down a fortified wall (אוֹ לְהַפִּיל חוֹמָה בְּצוּרָה), or upon any stronghold of your enemies to destroy and do harm (אוֹ לְכָל עֵמֶק אוֹיְבֶיךָ לְהַשְׁחִית וּלְהָרֵעַ), whether you wish to expose him (בֵּין שֶׁתִּרְצֶה לְהַגְלוֹתוֹ), or bring him to the bed (וּבֵין לְהַפִּילוֹ בַּמִּטָּה), or dim the light of his eyes (אוֹ לְהַכְהוֹת מְאוֹר עֵינָיו), or bind him by his feet (אוֹ לֶאֱסֹרוֹ בְּרַגְלָיו), or distress him in any matter (אוֹ לְהַצֵּר לוֹ לְכָל דָּבָר): take in your hand water from seven springs (קַח בְּיָדְךָ מַיִם מִן שִׁבְעָה מַעְיָנוֹת), on the seventh of the month (בְּשִׁבְעָה לַחֹדֶשׁ), at seven hours of the day (בְּשֶׁבַע שָׁעוֹת בַּיּוֹם), in seven clay flasks that have never entered light (בְּשִׁבְעָה נִבְלֵי חֶרֶשׂ שֶׁלֹּא נִכְנְסוּ בָאוֹר), and do not mix them one with another (וְאַל תַּעֲרֹב אוֹתָם יַחַד אֵלֶּה עִם אֵלֶּה), and place them beneath the stars for seven nights (וְתַנִּיחֵם תַּחַת הַכּוֹכָבִים ז׳ לֵילוֹת), and on the seventh night take for yourself a glass vial (וּבַלַּיְלָה הַשְּׁבִיעִית קַח לְךָ פִּיאַלִין שֶׁל זְכוּכִית), for the sake of your enemy (לְשֵׁם אוֹיְבֶיךָ), and pour the water into it (וְשָׁפוֹךְ הַמַּיִם לְתוֹכָהּ), and break the earthen vessel (וְשָׁבוֹר כְּלִי הַחֶרֶשׂ), and cast it to the four winds of the heavens (וְהַשְׁלֵךְ לְאַרְבַּע רוּחוֹת הַשָּׁמַיִם), and say thus (וְתֹאמַר כֵּן):
“According to the four winds: HaHagerit who camps in the east wind (כְּצַד אַרְבַּע רוּחוֹת: הַהֲגֵרִית הַחוֹנָה בְּרוּחַ מִזְרָח), Sharuchit who camps in the north wind (שָׁרוּכִית הַחוֹנָה בְּרוּחַ צָפוֹן), Ulpah who camps in the west wind (עוּלְפָה הַחוֹנָה בְּרוּחַ מַעֲרָב), Kardi who camps in the south wind (כַּרְדִּי הַחוֹנָה בְּרוּחַ דָּרוֹם): receive now from my hand at this time (קַבְּלוּ נָא מִיָּדִי בָּעֵת הַזֹּאת), that I cast to you for the sake of So-and-so son of So-and-so (שֶׁאֲנִי מַשְׁלִיךְ לָכֶם לְשֵׁם פְּלוֹנִי בֶּן פְּלוֹנִית), to break his bones (לִשְׁבֹּר עַצְמוֹתָיו), and to crush all his limbs (וּלְכַתֵּת כָּל אֵיבָרָיו), and to break his proud strength (וּלְשַׁבֵּר גַּאַוָה עֶבְרָה), like the breaking of these clay flasks (כְּשְׁבִירַת נִבְלֵי הַחֶרֶשׂ הָאֵלּוּ), and let there be no healing for them (וְלֹא תִהְיֶה לָהֶם רְפוּאָה), just as there is no healing for these clay flasks (כְּמוֹ שֶׁאֵין רְפוּאָה לְנִבְלֵי חֶרֶשׂ אֵלּוּ).”
And take whole glass vials (וְקַח פִּיאַלִין שְׁלֵמִים), and inscribe upon them the names of these angels (וְזָכוֹר עֲלֵיהֶם שְׁמוֹת הַמַּלְאָכִים הָאֵלֶּה), and the name of the officer is Tigrah (וְשֵׁם הַשּׁוֹטֵר הוּא תִּיגְרָה), and say thus (וֶאֱמוֹר כָּךְ): “I deliver unto you, angels of wrath and fury (מוֹסֵר אֲנִי לָכֶם מַלְאֲכֵי אַף וְחֵמָה), So-and-so son of So-and-so (אֶת פְּלוֹנִי בֶּן פְּלוֹנִית), that you shall strangle him and destroy him (שֶׁתַּחֲנִיקוּ אוֹתוֹ וְתַשְׁחִיתוּ אוֹתוֹ), and his appearance (וְאֶת מַרְאֵהוּ), and bring him to his bed (וּתַפִּילוּהוּ בְּמִטָּה), and diminish his wealth (וּתַחְסְרוּ הוֹנוֹ), and disrupt the thoughts of his heart (וּתְפִירוּ מַחְשְׁבוֹת לְבָבוֹ), and confuse his mind and counsel (וְתַפִּיחוּ רֵעוֹנוֹ וְדַעְתּוֹ), and he shall continue failing until death (וִיהִי נֶחְסָר וְהוֹלֵךְ עַד שֶׁיָּבוֹא לַמָּוֶת).”
And if you wish to banish him, say: “That you reveal him and excommunicate him from his children and his house (שֶׁתְּגַלּוּהוּ וְתְנַדּוּהוּ מִבָּנָיו וּבֵיתוֹ), and let nothing remain to him (וְלֹא יוֹתַר לוֹ כְּלוּם).” And if he is your creditor, say: “That you silence his mouth (שֶׁתִּתְמְתוּ אֶת פִּיו), and annul his counsel (וְתְבַטְּלוּ עֲצָתוֹ), and may I not arise in his thoughts (וְשֶׁלֹּא אֵעָלֶה בְּמַחֲשַׁבְתּוֹ), and may I not enter the words of his mouth (וְלֹא אָבוֹא בְּתוֹךְ דִּבְרֵי פִיו), and if I pass before him, may he not see me (וְכְשֶׁאֶעֱבוֹר לְפָנָיו לֹא יִרְאֵנִי בְּעֵינָיו).”
And if upon a ship, say: “I adjure you, angels of wrath and destruction (אֲנִי מַשְׁבִּיעַ עֲלֵיכֶם מַלְאֲכֵי קֶצֶף וּמַשְׁחִית), that you stand upon the ship of So-and-so son of So-and-so (שֶׁתַּעַמְדוּ עַל אֳנִיָּה שֶׁל פְּלוֹנִי בֶּן פְּלוֹנִית), and do not allow him to set forth from place to place (וְלֹא תַּנִּיחוּהוּ לִפְרוֹשׁ מִמָּקוֹם לְמָקוֹם), and no steering wind shall come to him (וְלֹא יָבוֹא אֵלָיו רוּחַ מַנְהִיג), and you shall bring him to the sea (וּתְבִיאֻהוּ אֶל הַיָּם), and agitate him within it (וְתִגְעֲשֻׁהוּ בְּתוֹכוֹ), and no man or cargo shall escape (וְלֹא יִמָּלֵט מִמֶּנָּה לֹא אָדָם וְלֹא מַשָּׂא).”
And if to bring down a fortified wall, say: “I adjure you, angels of rage, wrath, and fury (מַשְׁבִּיעַ אֲנִי עֲלֵיכֶם מַלְאֲכֵי רֹגֶז וְקֶצֶף וְחֵמָה), come in the strength of your might (שֶׁתָּבוֹאוּ בְּכֹחַ גְּבוּרַתְכֶם), and bring down the wall of So-and-so son of So-and-so (וְתַפִּילוּ חוֹמַת פְּלוֹנִי בֶּן פְּלוֹנִית), and bring it to the dust (וְתַגִּיעֻהָ עַד עָפָר), and let it be overturned as the overturning of Sodom and Amorah (וְתֵהָפֵךְ כְּמַהְפֵּכַת סְדוֹם וַעֲמוֹרָה), and do not allow a man to set stone upon stone in its height (וְאַל תַּנִּיחוּ לְאָדָם לְהַנִּיחַ אֶבֶן עַל אֶבֶן בְּקוֹמָה), and if it is built by day, let it be overturned by night (וְאִם יִבָּנֶה בַּיּוֹם יֵהָפֵךְ בַּלַּיְלָה), and pour upon the four corners of the house (וְשָׁפוֹךְ עַל אַרְבַּע פִּינוֹת הַבַּיִת).”
And if to bring down your enemy on the bed (וְאִם לְהַפִּיל שׂוֹנַאֲךָ עַל הַמִּטָּה), or to destroy his appearance, or for any trouble (אוֹ לְהַשְׁחִית מַרְאֵהוּ אוֹ לְכָל דָּבָר צָרָה), pour the water at his entrance (שָׁפוֹךְ הַמַּיִם עַל פִּתְחוֹ).
And if to expose him, pour the water to the four directions of the world (וְאִם לְהַגְלוֹתוֹ שָׁפוֹךְ הַמַּיִם לְאַרְבַּע רוּחוֹת הָעוֹלָם).
And if to bind your creditor, cast the water upon his garments (וְאִם לֶאֱסֹר בַּעַל חוֹבְךָ הַשְׁלֵךְ אֶת הַמַּיִם עַל בְּגָדָיו).
And if to sink a ship, cast the glass and its water to the name of the ship and its owner into the ship
And if to overturn a wall, dig at the four corners of the wall and divide the water into them (וְאִם לַהֲפוֹךְ חוֹמָה חֲפוֹר לְאַרְבַּע פִּינוֹת הַחוֹמָה וְחַלֵּק אֶת הַמַּיִם לְתוֹכָם).
And so in every matter do in purity, and then you shall succeed (וְכֵן בְּכָל דָּבָר וְדָבָר עֲשֵׂה בְּטָהֳרָה וְאָז תַּצְלִיחַ).
Camp Three—these are the names of the angels who serve in the third camp under D’nahel (מַחֲנֶה ג׳ אֵלֶּה שְׁמוֹת הַמַּלְאָכִים הַמְשָׁרְתִים בַּמַּחֲנֶה שְׁלִישִׁית אֶת דְּנַהֵל): Ograbavo (אוֹגְרַבָּבוֹ), Obsha’el (אוֹבְשָׁאֵל), Bartuviel (בַּרְתוּבִיאֵל), Keluviel (כְּלוּבִיאֵל), Rechaviel (רְחַבִיאֵל), Ohiel (אוֹהִיאֵל), Karvaton (כַּרְבָּתוֹן), Karva (כַּרְבָּא), Dainot (דָּאִינוֹט), Einich (אֵינִיךְ), Aviram (אֲבִירָם), Atgala (אַתְגָּלָא), Otot (אוֹתוֹת), Ashtanuel (אַשְׁתַּנוּאֵל), Ashpar (אַשְׁפָּר), Tagriel (תַּגְרִיאֵל), Amicha’el (אֲמִיכָאֵל), Atdasho (אַתְדַּשׁוֹ), Uri’el (אוּרִיאֵל), Armud (אַרְמוּד), Aston (אַסְתוֹן), Aka’el (אַכָּאֵל), Ana’or (אֲנָאוֹר), Askira (אַסְכִּירָא), Levia’el (לְבִיאָאֵל), El’ashah (אֶלְעָשֶׁה), Chasni’el (חַסְנִיאֵל), Lemushi (לְמוּשִׁי), Adut (אֲדוּת), Tiyum (תִּיוּם), Alfi (אַלְפִּי), Imich (אִימִיךְ), Argala (אַרְגָּלָא), Mig’el (מִיגְאֵל), Eli’el (אֱלִיאֵל), Medani’el (מְדַנִיאֵל).
These are the angels who inform all who hold to them in purity (אֵלּוּ הַמַּלְאָכִים מוֹדִיעִים אֶת כָּל הַמַּחֲזִיק בָּהֶם בְּטָהֳרָה), what will be upon the earth each and every year (מַה יִּהְיֶה עַל הָאָרֶץ בְּכָל שָׁנָה וְשָׁנָה), whether for plenty or for famine (אִם לְשֹׂבַע אִם לָרָעָב), whether the rains will increase or diminish (אִם גְּשָׁמִים יִרְבּוּ אוֹ אִם יִמְעֲטוּ), and whether there will be drought (וְאִם תִּהְיֶה בַּצֹּרֶת), and whether there will be grain (וְאִם תִּהְיֶה תְּבוּאָה), and whether the locust will come (וְאִם יָבוֹא חָסִיל), and whether there will be strife among kings (וְאִם תִּהְיֶה תַּחֲרוּת בֵּין הַמְּלָכִים), and whether the sword will come among the nobles of the kingdom (וְאִם תָּבוֹא חֶרֶב בֵּין גְּדוֹלֵי הַמַּלְכוּת), and whether death will fall among men or afflictions (וְאִם יִפֹּל מָוֶת בִּבְנֵי אָדָם אוֹ יִסּוּרִין).
And if you seek to know and understand what will be in each and every year (וְאִם תְּבַקֵּשׁ לָדַעַת וּלְהָבִין מַה יִּהְיֶה בְּכָל שָׁנָה וְשָׁנָה), take a card of Irtikon (קַח כַּרְתִּיס יִרְטִיקוֹן), and write Irtikon (וּכְתוֹב יִרְטִיקוֹן), and write in Zmirnah Melanon (וּכְתוֹב בִּזְמִירְנָה מֶלָנוֹן) every matter and matter in its own right (כָּל דָּבָר וָדָבָר בְּעַצְמוֹ).
And take a new vial (וְקַח צְלוּחִית חֲדָשָׁה), and place within it oil of nard (וּתֵן בְּתוֹכָהּ שֶׁמֶן נֵרְדָּא), and cast all the written things into it (וְהַשְׁלֵךְ כָּל הַדְּבָרִים הַכְּתוּבִים לְתוֹכָהּ), and stand facing the sun at the time of her emerging from her veil (וְעֲמוֹד כְּנֶגֶד הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ בְּעֵת צֵאתָהּ מֵחֻפָּתָהּ), and say: "I adjure you, O sun who gives light upon the earth (וֶאֱמוֹר: מַשְׁבִּיעַ אֲנִי עָלַיִךְ הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ הַמְּאִירָה עַל הָאָרֶץ), in the name of the angels who understand and transmit wisdom and secrets to men of knowledge (בְּשֵׁם הַמַּלְאָכִים הַמְּבִינִים וּמְבוֹצִים חָכְמוֹת וְסְתוּמוֹת לְאַנְשֵׁי מַדָּע), that you perform my request (שֶׁתַּעֲשִׂי שְׁאֵלָתִי), and inform me what will be in this year (וְתוֹדִיעִינִי מַה יִּהְיֶה בַּשָּׁנָה הַזֹּאת), and do not conceal anything from me (וְאַל תְּכַחֵד מִמֶּנִּי דָּבָר)."
And adjure the adjuration three days, three times (וְתַשְׁבִּיעַ אֶת הַשְּׁבוּעָה שְׁלוֹשָׁה יָמִים שָׁלוֹשָׁה פְּעָמִים), and on the third time look in the oil (וּבַפַּעַם הַשְּׁלִישִׁית תַּבִּיט בַּשֶּׁמֶן); whatever appears upon the surface of the oil is what shall occur that year (רְאֵה כָל דָּבָר נַעֲלֶה עַל פְּנֵי הַשֶּׁמֶן הוּא אֲשֶׁר יֵעָשֶׂה בַּשָּׁנָה הַהִיא).
And if two rise, there shall be two; if three rise, there shall be three (וְאִם שְׁנַיִם יַעֲלוּ שְׁנַיִם תִּהְיֶינָה, וְאִם שְׁלוֹשָׁה יַעֲלוּ שְׁלוֹשָׁה תִּהְיֶינָה).
Afterwards take the oil and kindle it for the sake of the angels who serve this camp (וְאַחַר כָּךְ קַח הַשֶּׁמֶן וְהַדְלִיקֵהוּ לְשֵׁם הַמַּלְאָכִים הַמְשָׁרְתִים לְזוֹ הַמַּחֲנֶה), and the rest of the writings, hide them in a wall or window (וְשְׁאָר כָּל הַכְּתוּבִים יִגָּנְזוּם בַּקִּיר אוֹ בַּחַלּוֹן).
And in all matters, do in purity and you shall succeed (וְכֵן בְּכָל דָּבָר תַּעֲשֶׂה בְּטָהֳרָה וְתַצְלִיחַ).

In purity you shall act, with swiftness, and you shall succeed (בְּטָהֳרָה תַּעֲשֶׂה בִּזְרִיזוּת וְתַצְלִיחַ).
If you seek to incline the mind of the king to your hand (אִם בִּקַּשְׁתָּה לְהַטּוֹת דַּעַת הַמֶּלֶךְ לְיָדְךָ), or the chief of the army, or a rich man, or a ruler, or a judge of a city (אוֹ לְשַׂר הַצָּבָא אוֹ עָשִׁיר אוֹ שַׁלְּטוֹן אוֹ שׁוֹפֵט שֶׁל עִיר), or all the people of the province (אוֹ כָּל בְּנֵי הַמְּדִינָה), or the heart of a noblewoman or a wealthy woman (אוֹ לֵב אִשָּׁה גְּדוֹלָה אוֹ עֲשִׁירָה), or the heart of a beautiful woman (אוֹ לֵב אִשָּׁה בְּיוֹפְיָהּ):
take a lion cub and slaughter it with a copper knife (קַח גּוּר אֲרִי וּשְׁחָטֵהוּ בְּסַכִּין שֶׁל נְחֹשֶׁת), and receive its blood and tear its heart (וְקַבֵּל דָּמוֹ וְקְרַע לִבּוֹ), and place its blood within it (וְתֵן דָּמוֹ בְּתוֹכוֹ), and write the names of these angels in blood upon the skin between its face (וְכָתוֹב שְׁמוֹת הַמַּלְאָכִים הָאֵלֶּה בַּדָּם עַל הָעוֹר שֶׁבֵּין פָּנָיו), and erase it with aged wine of three years (וּמְחוֹק אוֹתוֹ בְּיַיִן יָשָׁן בֶּן שָׁלוֹשׁ שָׁנִים), and mix it with the blood (וְעָרֵב בַּדָּם).
And take three chief spices—storax, myrrh, and sorra de-moshekh (וְקַח ג׳ רָאשֵׁי בְּשָׂמִים: אִיסְטוֹרְקוֹן וּמוֹר וְשׁוֹרָא דְּמוֹשֵׁךְ), and stand before the planet Venus, clean and pure (וַעֲמוֹד לִפְנֵי כּוֹכַב הַנּוֹגָה נָקִי וְטָהוֹר), and place the spices on the fire (וְתֵן הַבְּשָׂמִים עַל הָאֵשׁ), and take in your hand the cup which has the blood and wine in it (וְקַח בְּיָדְךָ הַכּוֹס שֶׁהַדָּם וְהַיַּיִן בּוֹ), and speak, and mention the name of the officer and the names of the angels of his camp (וְאָמַר וְהַזְכֵּר אֶת שֵׁם הַשּׁוֹסֵר וְאֶת שְׁמוֹת מַלְאֲכֵי מַחֲנֵהוּ), twice "AI" and "KHI" over the blood and over the wine (פַּעֲמַיִם אִי וְכִי עַל הַדָּם וְעַל הַיַּיִן), and you shall say before the star Venus, whose name is Aphroditi, and the angel Chesdiel (וְתֹאמַר כְּנֶגֶד כּוֹכַב הַנּוֹגָה שְׁמוֹ הוּא אַפְרוֹדִיטִי וּמַלְאָךְ חֶסְדִיאֵ״ל):
I adjure you in the name of the angels of the fourth camp who serve Kalmiyah (מַשְׁבִּיעַ אֲנִי עָלֶיךָ בְּשֵׁם מַלְאֲכֵי מַחֲנֶה הָרְבִיעִית הַמְשָׁרְתִים אֶת כַלְמִיָּה), that you turn toward me the heart of the king So-and-so and the heart of his army and his servants to my hand, I—So-and-so son of So-and-so (שֶׁתָּסֹבוּ אֵלַי אֶת מֶלֶךְ פְּלוֹנִי וְלֵב צְבָאוֹ וְלֵב מְשָׁרְתָיו לְיָדִי אֲנִי פְּלוֹנִי בֶּן פְּלוֹנִית), and I shall find favor and grace in his eyes (וְאֶמְצָא חֵן וָחֶסֶד לְפָנָיו), and he shall do my will and request at every hour that I ask of him (וְיַעֲשֶׂה חֶפְצִי וּשְׁאֵלָתִי בְּכָל שָׁעָה שֶׁאֲשַׁאֵל מִמֶּנּוּ).
And when you finish reciting the adjuration twenty-one times (וּבְכַלּוֹתְךָ לְדַבֵּר אֶת הַשְּׁבוּעָה כ״א פְּעָמִים), look upward and you shall see as a coal of fire descending into the blood and wine (הַבֵּט לְמַעְלָה וְאַתָּה תִּרְאֶה כְּגַחֶלֶת אֵשׁ יוֹרֶדֶת לְתוֹךְ הַדָּם וְהַיַּיִן).
And if you seek to enter before the king, or before any man, or judge (וְאִם בִּקַּשְׁתָּה לָבוֹא אֵצֶל הַמֶּלֶךְ אוֹ לְכָל אִישׁ אוֹ לְשׁוֹפֵט), bathe yourself in living waters (רַחֵץ עַצְמְךָ בְּמַיִם חַיִּים), and take from the blood and the wine and pass over your flesh (וְקַח מִן הַדָּם וְהַיַּיִן וְהַעֲבֵר עַל בְּשָׂרְךָ), and the lion's heart place upon your heart (וְלֵב הָאֲרִיָּה שִׂים עַל לִבְּךָ).
And if to influence the people of the city (וְאִם לְהָסֵב אֶת בְּנֵי הַמְּדִינָה), take the lion’s heart and bury it in the city (קַח אֶת לֵב הָאֲרִיָּה וְטַמְּנֵהוּ בְּתוֹךְ הַמְּדִינָה), and write on a leaf the name of the officer and his camp (וְכְתוֹב בְּצִיץ אֶת הַשּׁוֹטֵר וְאֶת מַחֲנֵהוּ), and say thus (וֶאֱמוֹר כֵּן):
“You angels who turn and wander in the world (אַתֶּם הַמַּלְאָכִים הַסּוֹבְבִים וּמְשׁוֹטְטִים בָּעוֹלָם), turn all the people of this city—great and small, old and young, poor and noble (הַסֵּבוּ אֶת כָּל בְּנֵי הַמְּדִינָה הַזֹּאת גְּדוֹלִים וּקְטַנִּים זְקֵנִים וּבַחוּרִים דַּלִּים וּנְכְבָּדִים), and let my fear and dread be upon them (וּתְהֵא עֲלֵיהֶם יִרְאָתִי וְאֵימָתִי), like the fear of the lion over all beasts (כְּאֵימַת הָאֲרִיָּה עַל כָּל הַבְּהֵמוֹת).
And just as this heart is mute and I speak (וּכְמוֹ שֶׁהַלֵּב הַזֶּה הוּא אִילֵם וַאֲנִי מְדַבֵּר), so let them all obey me (כָּךְ יִהְיוּ כֻּלָּם נִשְׁמָעִים אֵלַי), and let no one of the children of Adam and Chavah speak against me (וְלֹא יוּכְלוּ לְדַבֵּר נֶגְדִּי מִכָּל בְּנֵי אָדָם וְחַוָּה).”
And bury the heart in the center of the city (וְטְמוֹן הַלֵּב בְּאֶמְצַע הַמְּדִינָה), and hide your face for three days (וְהַסְתֵּר פָּנֶיךָ שְׁלוֹשָׁה יָמִים), and after three days you shall see in the city (וְלְאַחַר שְׁלוֹשָׁה יָמִים תִּרְאֶה בַּמְּדִינָה), place under your feet from the blood of the lioness (תֵּן תַּחַת כַּפוֹת רַגְלֶיךָ מִדַּם הָאֲרִיָּה).
If you seek to bind the heart of a great or wealthy woman to you (אִם בִּקַּשְׁתָּה לֶאֱסֹר לֵב אִשָּׁה גְּדוֹלָה אוֹ עֲשִׁירָה אֵלֶיךָ), take of the sweat of your face in a new glass vessel (קַח מִזֵּעַת פָּנֶיךָ בִּכְלִי זְכוּכִית חָדָשׁ), and write upon it on a tin plate the name of the officer and the names of the angels (וְכָתוֹב עָלָיו עַל טַס קְסִיטְרוֹן שֵׁם הַשּׁוֹטֵר וְשֵׁמוֹת הַמַּלְאָכִים), and cast it into it, and say thus over the sweat of your face (וְהַשְׁלֵךְ לְתוֹכוֹ וֶאֱמוֹר כָּךְ עַל זֵעַת פָּנֶיךָ):
I adjure you, angels of grace and angels of knowledge (מַשְׁבִּיעַ אֲנִי עֲלֵיכֶם מַלְאֲכֵי חֵן וּמַלְאכֵי מַדָּע), that you turn the heart of So-and-so daughter of So-and-so (שֶׁתַּהַפְּכוּ אֶת לֵב פְּלוֹנִית בַּת פְּלוֹנִית), and she shall do nothing without me (וְלֹא תַעֲשֶׂה דָבָר בִּלְעָדַי), and her heart shall be with my heart in love (וִיהֵא לִבָּהּ עִם לִבִּי לְאַהֲבָה).
And take a new tablet (וְקַח רִ״לּוּחִית חֲדָשָׁה), and bury it in the place of her coming and going (וְטַמְּנֵהוּ בִּמְקוֹם בִּיאַתָהּ וִיצִיאָתָהּ).
And as a woman returns to her infants in her womb, so shall she return to me for love (וּכַאֲשֶׁר תָּשׁוּב אִשָּׁה עַל עוֹלְלֵי בִטְנָהּ כֵּן תָּשׁוּב אֵלַי לְאַהֲבָתִי פְּלוֹנִיתָא דָּא), from this day and forever (מִן יוֹמָא דְּנָן לְעָלַם). And this shall be written at the fullness of the moon (וְזֶה יִכָּתֵב בִּמְלֹאת הַלְּבָנָה).

If you seek to speak with the moon and with the stars regarding any matter (אִם תְּבַקֵּשׁ לְדַבֵּר עִם הַלְּבָנָה וְעִם הַכּוֹכָבִים עַל עֵסֶק כָּל דָּבָר), take a white rooster and fine flour (קַח שְׂכוִי לָבָן וְקֶמַח סֹלֶת), and slaughter the rooster into living waters (וּשְׁחֹט אֶת הַשְּׂכוִי לְתוֹךְ מַיִם חַיִּים).
And with the blood and the water knead the flour (וּבַדָּם וּבַמַּיִם גַּבֵּל אֶת הַסֹּלֶת), and make three cakes (וַעֲשֵׂה שָׁלֹשׁ עֻגוֹת), and place them in the sun (וּתְנֵם בַּשֶּׁמֶשׁ), and write upon them in blood the name of the fifth camp and the name of the officer (וּכְתוֹב עֲלֵיהֶם בַּדָּם שֵׁם הַמַּחֲנֶה הַחֲמִישִׁית וְשֵׁם הַשּׁוֹטֵר), and place the three of them upon a table of myrtle wood (וּתְנֵם שְׁלֹשְׁתָּן עַל שֻׁלְחָן עֵץ הֲדָס), and speak facing the moon or facing the stars (וֶאֱמוֹר נֶגֶד הַלְּבָנָה אוֹ נֶגֶד הַכּוֹכָבִים), and say: I adjure you (וֶאֱמוֹר: מַשְׁבִּיעַ אֲנִי עֲלֵיכֶם), that you bring near the mazal of So-and-so and his star to the star of So-and-so and their mazal (שֶׁתַּקְרִיבוּ מַזָּל פְּלוֹנִי וְכוֹכָבוֹ לְכוֹכַב פְּלוֹנִי וּמַזָּלוֹ), so that his love be bound in the heart of So-and-so son of So-and-so (לִהְיוֹת אַהֲבָתוֹ קְשׁוּרָה בְּלֵב פְּלוֹנִי בֶּן פְּלוֹנִי), and say: Place fire from your fire into the heart of this So-and-so or this woman So-and-so (וֶאֱמוֹר: תְּנוּ אֵשׁ מֵאִשְׁכֶם בְּלֵב פְּלוֹנִי זֶה אוֹ פְּלוֹנִית דָּא), and she shall leave the house of her father and her mother in love for this So-and-so son of So-and-so (וְתַעֲזֹב בֵּית אָבִיהָ וְאִמָּהּ בְּאַהֲבַת פְּלוֹנִי זֶה בֶּן פְּלוֹנִית).

I adjure you (מַשְׁבִּיעַ אֲנִי עֲלֵיכֶם), that you grant grace and kindness and mercy upon So-and-so (שֶׁתִּתְּנוּ חֵן וָחֶסֶד וְרַחֲמִים עַל פְּלוֹנִי), from the radiance of grace and kindness and mercy of your faces (מִזִּיו חֵן וָחֶסֶד וְרַחֲמִים שֶׁל פְּנֵיכֶם), I—So-and-so son of So-and-so (אֲנִי פְּלוֹנִי בֶּן פְּלוֹנִי), and I shall find grace and kindness and mercy and honor in the eyes of all men (וְאֶמְצָא חֵן וָחֶסֶד וְרַחֲמִים וְכָבוֹד בְּעֵינֵי כָּל אָדָם).
And sit facing the wind and wash your face each morning for nine days (וְנֵשֵׁב לָרוּחַ וְרָחַץ פָּנֶיךָ כָּל שַׁחַר ט׳ יָמִים), with the wine and with the crumbled cake therein (עִם הַיָּיִן וְעִם הָעֻגָּה הַמְפֹרֶתֶת בּוֹ).
And if you wish to inquire through necromancy (וְאִם תִּרְצֶה לִשְׁאוֹל בָּאוֹב), stand opposite a grave (עֲמוֹד כְּנֶגֶד קָבֶר), and mention the names of the angels of the fifth camp (וְזָכוֹר שְׁמוֹת מַלְאֲכֵי מַחֲנֶה הַחֲמִישִׁית), and in your hand [hold] oil and honey mixed together in a new glass vessel (וּבְיָדְךָ שֶׁמֶן וּדְבַשׁ בְּלוּלִים יַחַד בְּפִיאַלֵי זְכוּכִית חֲדָשָׁה), and say thus (וֶאֱמוֹר כֵּן):

And he shall rise immediately (וְיַעֲמֹד מִיָּד), and if not, repeat and adjure again until three times (וְאִם לָאו שׁוּב וְהַשְׁבֵּעַ פַּעַם אַחֶרֶת עַד שָׁלוֹשׁ פְּעָמִים). And when he emerges, place the vial before him (וּכְשֶׁיֵּצֵא הַנַּח פָּנָיו הַפִּיאָלִי), and afterward speak your words (וְאַחַר כָּךְ דַּבֵּר אֶת דְּבָרֶיךָ), and there shall be in your hand a myrtle wand (וִיהִי בְיָדְךָ שַׁרְבִיט שֶׁל הֲדָס). And if you seek to release him, strike him three strikes with the myrtle (וְאִם בִּקַּשְׁתָּה לְהַתִּירוֹ הַכֵּהוּ שְׁלֹשָׁה שְׁבָטִים עִם הַהֲדָס), and pour the oil and the honey (וְשָׁפוֹךְ הַשֶּׁמֶן וְהַדְּבַשׁ), and break the cup (וְשְׁבוֹר הַכּוֹס), and cast away the myrtle from your hand (וְהַשְׁלֵךְ הַהֲדָס מִיָּדְךָ), and return to your home by another road (וְשׁוּב לְבֵיתְךָ בְּדֶרֶךְ אַחֶרֶת).
And if you desire to speak with the spirits (וְאִם תִּרְצֶה לְדַבֵּר עִם הָרוּחוֹת), go out to the place of the slain (צֵא לִמְקוֹם הַהֲרוּגִים), and call there Ovnit Ronanit (וְקְרָא שָׁם אוֹבְנִית רוֹנָנִית), “I adjure you in the name of the angels who serve in the fifth camp (מַשְׁבִּיעַ אֲנִי עֲלֵיכֶם בְּשֵׁם הַמַּלְאָכִים הַמְשָׁרְתִים בְּמַחֲנֶה הַחֲמִישִׁית), and in the name of the officer over them, who is Asimor (וּבְשֵׁם הַשּׁוֹטֵר שֶׁעֲלֵיהֶם שֶׁהוּא אֲסִימוֹר), that you listen to me at this time (שֶׁתִּשְׁמְעוּנִי בָּעֵת הַזֹּאת), and that you send to me the spirit of Chagragirut (וְתִשְׁלְחוּ לִי אֶת רוּחַ חַגְרַגִּירוּת), and that she go in my purpose wherever I shall send her (וְתֵלֵךְ בְּחֶפְצִי לְכָל אֲשֶׁר אֲשַׁלְּחֶהָ), and that she obey me in all things (וְתִהְיֶה שׁוֹמַעַת לִי בְּכָל דָּבָר), until such-and-such a time” (עַד זְמַן כָּךְ וְכָךְ).
If you see before you a column of smoke (אִם רָאִיתָ נֶגְדֶּךָ עַמּוּד עָשָׁן), speak your words (דַּבֵּר דְּבָרֶיךָ), and send her for whatever matter you desire (וְשַׁלַּח לְכָל חֵפֶץ שֶׁתִּרְצֶה).

Take four copper plates (קַח אַרְבָּעָה טַסֵּי נְחֹשֶׁת), and write upon each one the name of the man and his mother’s name (וְכָתוֹב עַל כָּל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד מֵהֶם שֵׁם הָאִישׁ וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ), and the name of the officer Piskar (וְשֵׁם הַשּׁוֹטֵר פִּסְכַּר), and the names of the angels who serve him (וְשֵׁמוֹת הַמַּלְאָכִים הַמְשָׁרְתִים אוֹתוֹ), and say: “I deliver unto you, angels of might (וֶאֱמוֹר: מוֹסֵר אֲנִי לָכֶם מַלְאֲכֵי הַגְּבוּרָה), So-and-so son of So-and-so (אֶת פְּלוֹנִי בֶּן פְּלוֹנִית), that you seize him wherever he shall go and wherever he shall sit (שֶׁתֶּאֱחֲזוּ אוֹתוֹ בְּכָל מָקוֹם שֶׁיֵּלֵךְ וּבְכָל מָקוֹם שֶׁהוּא יוֹשֵׁב), whether in city or province, whether by sea or on dry land, in food or in drink (אִם בָּעִיר אִם בַּמְּדִינָה אִם בַּיָּם אִם בַּיַּבָּשָׁה אִם בְּמַאֲכָל אִם בְּמִשְׁתֶּה), and that you fly him like a bird in flight (וְתָעִיפוּ אוֹתוֹ כְּעוֹף הַמִּתְעוֹפֵף), and bring him without his will (וּתְבִיאוּ אוֹתוֹ בְּלִי רְצוֹנוֹ), and do not let him linger even for a single moment, neither by day nor by night (וְאַל תַּעַזְבוּהוּ לְהִתְמַהְמֵהַּ רֶגַע אֶחָד לֹא בַּיּוֹם וְלֹא בַלַּיְלָה).” And take four copper plates (וְקַח אַרְבָּעָה טַסֵּי נְחֹשֶׁת), and bury them at the four corners of the world (וְטַמְּנֵם בְּאַרְבַּע רוּחוֹת הָעוֹלָם), whether in the city or in the province (אִם בָּעִיר אִם בַּמְּדִינָה).
These are the angels who serve in the seventh camp under Buel (אֵלֶּה הֵם הַמַּלְאָכִים הַמְשָׁרְתִים בְּמַחֲנֶה הַשְּׁבִיעִית אֶת בּוּאֵל):

These are the names of the angels who stand over dreams (אֵלֶּה הֵם שְׁמוֹת הַמַּלְאָכִים הָעוֹמְדִים עַל הַחֲלוֹם), to impart wisdom to all who approach them in purity (לְהַחְכִּים אֶת כָּל הַקָּרוֹב אֲלֵיהֶם בְּטָהֳרָה), concerning the dream and its interpretation (מַה הַחֲלוֹם וּמַה פִּתְרוֹנוֹ).
If the king or the head of the city or a ruler or your companion calls you (אִם יִקְרָאֲךָ הַמֶּלֶךְ אוֹ רֹאשׁ הָעִיר אוֹ שַׁלִּיט אוֹ חֲבֵרְךָ), and you seek to display your wisdom before him (וּבִקַּשְׁתָּה לְהוֹדִיעַ מֵחָכְמָתְךָ דָּבָר לְפָנָיו), say: “I will tell you what is in your heart toward me (אֲנִי אוֹדִיעֲךָ מַה בְּלִבְּךָ עָלַי), and what you have thought about me (וּמַה חֲשַׁבְתָּה עָלַי), and what you desire to do (וּמַה אַתָּה חָפֵץ לַעֲשׂוֹת), and what the interpretation of your dream is (וּמַה פִּתְרוֹן חֲלוֹמְךָ). Grant me a time of three days (תֵּן לִי זְמַן שְׁלֹשָׁה יָמִים), and I will reveal to you all that is in your heart” (וְאוֹדִיעֲךָ כָּל אֲשֶׁר בְּלִבְּךָ).
And go out on the first day to the shore of the sea or to the riverbank (וְצֵא בַּיּוֹם הָרִאשׁוֹן עַל שְׂפַת הַיָּם אוֹ עַל שְׂפַת הַנָּהָר), at the third hour of the night (בִּשְׁלֹשׁ שָׁעוֹת בַלַּיְלָה), and be wrapped in a new garment (וֶהֱיֵה עָטוּף אַסְטוֹלִי חֲדָשָׁה), and do not eat any creeping thing (וְאַל תֹּאכַל כָּל דָּקָה), and nothing that sheds blood (וְלֹא כָּל מוֹצִיא דָם), and do not drink wine (וְלֹא תִשְׁתֶּה יַיִן).
And take myrrh and pure frankincense upon burning coals in a new earthen vessel (וְקַח מוֹר וּלְבוֹנָה זַכָּה עַל גַּחֲלֵי אֵשׁ בִּכְלִי חֶרֶשׂ חָדָשׁ), and set your face toward the water (וְתֵן פָּנֶיךָ עַל הַמַּיִם), and mention the name of the officer with the name of the angels of the camp three times (וְהַזְכֵּר שֵׁם הַשּׁוֹטֵר עִם שֵׁם מַלְאֲכֵי הַמַּחֲנֶה שָׁלוֹשׁ פְּעָמִים), and you will see a column of fire between heaven and earth (וְאַתָּה רוֹאֶה עַמּוּד אֵשׁ בֵּין הַשָּׁמַיִם וְהָאָרֶץ).
And say thus (וֶאֱמוֹר כֵּן): “I adjure you by Him who measured the waters with His span (מַשְׁבִּיעַ אֲנִי עָלֶיךָ בְּמִי שֶׁמָּדַד בְּשָׁעֳלוֹ מַיִם), and rebuked the waters and they fled from before Him (וְגָעַר בַּמַּיִם וְנָסוּ מִפָּנָיו), and made winds fly through the air (וְעָשָׂה רוּחוֹת פּוֹרְחוֹת בָּאֲוִיר), His ministers are a flaming fire (מְשָׁרְתֵי פָּנָיו אֵשׁ לוֹחֵשׁ), and He rebuked the sea and it was dried up (וְגָעַר בַּיָּם וַיַּחְרִיבֵהוּ), and made rivers into a wilderness (וּנְהָרוֹת יָשִׂים לְמִדְבָּר).
By His Name and His signs I adjure you (בִּשְׁמוֹ וּבְאוֹתוֹתָיו אֲנִי מַשְׁבִּיעַ עָלֶיךָ), and by the name of the seven angels of the seventh camp (וּבְשֵׁם שִׁבְעָה מַלְאָכֵי מַחֲנֶה הַשְּׁבִיעִית), who serve Buel (הַמְשָׁרְתִים אֶת בּוּאֵל), that you reveal what is in the heart of So-and-so son of So-and-so (שֶׁתּוֹדִיעַ מַה בְּלֵב פְּלוֹנִי בֶּן פְּלוֹנִי), and what is his desire (וּמַה חֶפְצוֹ), and what is the interpretation of his dream (וּמַה פִּתְרוֹן חֲלוֹמוֹ), and what is his thought” (וּמַה מַחְשַׁבְתּוֹ).
And do so on the second and third night (וְכֵן בַּלַּיְלָה הַשֵּׁנִית וְהַשְּׁלִישִׁית), and you will see revealed to you a column of fire and a cloud above it in the form of a man (וְתִרְאֶה שֶׁיִּתְגַּלֶּה לְךָ עַמּוּד אֵשׁ וַעֲנָן עָלֶיהָ כִּדְמוּת אִישׁ). Ask him, and he will tell you all that you ask (שַׁאֲלֵהוּ וִיגֵּד לְךָ כָּל מַה שֶׁאַתָּה מְבַקֵּשׁ).
And if you wish to release him (וְאִם תִּרְצֶה לְהַתִּירוֹ), cast from the water toward the heavens three times (הַשְׁלֵךְ מִן הַמַּיִם לַשָּׁמַיִם שָׁלוֹשׁ פְּעָמִים), from the sea or the river where you are standing (מִן הַיָּם אוֹ מִן הַנָּהָר אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה עוֹמֵד עָלָיו), and say under your tongue (וֶאֱמוֹר תַּחַת לְשׁוֹנְךָ):
“Orodi, Gribal, Posmos, Sargari, Taligus, Aspedophoros, Hatharti, Hatharti, descend and return to your way” (אוֹרוֹדִי גְּרִיבָּאל פּוֹסְמוֹס סַרְגָּרִי טַלִּיגוּס אַסְפֶּדוֹפוֹרוֹס הַתַּרְתִּי הַתַּרְתִּי הַשְׁקַע וְשׁוּב לְדַרְכֶּךָ). And say this seven times (וֶאֱמוֹר כֵּן שֶׁבַע פְּעָמִים). And in every matter, do in purity and you shall succeed (וְכָל דָּבָר עֲשֵׂה בְּטָהֳרָה וְתַצְלִיחַ).
These are the names of the seven spirits who serve in the firmament called Shamayim (Heavens) (אֵלֶּה הֵם שְׁמוֹת שִׁבְעָה רוּחוֹת הַמְשָׁרְתִים בָּרָקִיעַ הַנִּקְרָא שָׁמַיִם). Peace. (שָׁלוֹם.)
