The Seventh Firmament

הָרָקִיעַ הַשְּׁבִיעִי

And the seventh firmament is entirely sevenfold light (וְהָרָקִיעַ הַשְּׁבִיעִי כֻּלוֹ אוֹר שִׁבְעָתַיִם), and from its radiance all the habitations shine (וּמֵאוֹרוֹ יַבְהִיקוּ כָּל הַמְּעוֹנוֹת), and within it is the Throne of Glory established upon four creatures of glory (וּבוֹ כִּסֵּא הַכָּבוֹד נָכוֹן עַל אַרְבַּע חַיּוֹת כָּבוֹד).

And within it are treasuries of life and treasuries of souls (וּבוֹ אוֹצְרוֹת חַיִּים וְאוֹצְרוֹת נְפָשׁוֹת), and there is no measure or end to the great radiance that is within it (וְאֵין חֵקֶר וְתַכְלִית לַמָּאוֹר הַגָּדוֹל אֲשֶׁר בּוֹ), and from that filled light the whole earth is illuminated (וּמֵאוֹר הַמְּמֻלָּא תָּאִיר כָּל הָאָרֶץ), and angels grasp pillars of light (וּמַלְאָכִים אֲחוּזִים בְּעַמּוּדֵי אוֹר), and their light is like the brightness of dawn (וְאוֹרָם כְּאוֹר נֹגַהּ), and it is never extinguished (וְלֹא יִכְבֶּה), for their eyes are like sparks of lightning (כִּי עֵינֵיהֶם כִּנְצֹצוֹת בָּרָק), and their station is upon wings of light (וּמַעֲמָדָם עַל גַּפֵּי אוֹר), and they glorify in awe the One who sits upon the Throne of Glory (וּמְפָאֲרִים בְּאֵימָה לַיֹּשֵׁב בַּכִּסֵּא הַכָּבוֹד).

For He alone sits in His holy habitation (כִּי הוּא לְבַדּוֹ יוֹשֵׁב בְּמְעוֹן קָדְשׁוֹ), seeking justice and weighing righteousness (דּוֹרֵשׁ מִשְׁפָּט וּמְפַלֵּס צֶדֶק), judging in faithfulness and speaking in righteousness (שׁוֹפֵט בֶּאֱמוּנָה וּמְדַבֵּר בִּצְדָקָה).

And before Him are opened scrolls of fire (וּלְפָנָיו סִפְרֵי אֵשׁ פְּתוּחִים), and from before Him flow rivers of fire (וּמִלְּפָנָיו נַהֲרֵי אֵשׁ מוֹשְׁכִים), and at His majesty rams tremble (וּמִשְּׂאֵתוֹ יָגוּרוּ אֵילִים), and from His roar the pillars sway (וּמִשַּׁאֲגָתוֹ יִרְעֲפוּ עַמּוּדִים), and from His voice the foundations of the thresholds quake (וּמִקּוֹלוֹ יָנוּעוּ אַמּוֹת הַסִּפִּים), and His hosts stand before Him (וְחֵילוֹתָיו עוֹמְדִים לְפָנָיו), and they do not perceive His form (וְלֹא יַשׁוּרוּ דְּמוּתוֹ), for He is hidden from every eye (כִּי הוּא נִסְתָּר מִכָּל עַיִן), and none may see Him and live (וְאֵין מִי יִרְאֶנּוּ וָחָי). His form is hidden from all (דְּמוּתוֹ מִכֹּל נֶעֶלְמָה), yet the form of all is not hidden from Him (וּדְמוּת כָּל מִמֶּנּוּ לֹא נִסְתָּרָה).

He reveals deep things from darkness (מְגַלֶּה עֲמֻקוֹת מִנִּי חֹשֶׁךְ), and knows what is in the secret places of gloom (וְיוֹדֵעַ מַה בִּסְתָרֵי אוֹפֶל), for with Him light dwells (כִּי אוֹר עִמּוֹ חֹנֶה), and as a garment He cloaks Himself in light (וּכְשַׁלְמָה אוֹר יַעְטֶה).

He sits upon the Throne of Light (יוֹשֵׁב בְּכִסֵּא הָאוֹר), and around Him is intense light (וּסְבִיבוֹתָיו עֹצֶם אוֹר), and creatures and wheels bear Him (וְחַיּוֹת וְאוֹפַנִּים יִנְשָׂאוּהוּ), and they fly with their wings (וְהֵמָּה מְעוֹפְפִים בִּכְנָפֵיהֶם), and they have six wings each (וְלָהֶם שֵׁשׁ שֵׁשׁ כְּנָפַיִם), and with their wings they cover their faces (וּבִכְנָפֵיהֶם יְכַסּוּ פְּנֵיהֶם), and downward they lower their faces (וְלְמַטָּה יִתְּנוּ פְנֵיהֶם), and toward all four directions their faces are turned (וּלְאַרְבַּעְתָּם פּוֹנִים פְּנֵיהֶם), and they do not lift their faces upward (וְלֹא יְרוֹמוּ לְמַעְלָה פְּנֵיהֶם), from fear and dread (מִפַּחְדָּן וּמֵאֵימָתָן).

And above them, multitudes upon multitudes stand before Him (וְהֵן עַל גַּבֵּיהֶן עוֹמְדִים לְפָנָיו כִּתּוֹת כִּתּוֹת), and immerse in rivers of purity (וּטְבוּלִים בִּנְהָרֵי טָהֳרָה), and wrap themselves in garments of white fire (וּמִתְעַטְּפִים כְּסוּת אֵשׁ לְבָנָה), and answer in humility with a mighty voice (וְעוֹנִים בַּעֲנָוָה בְּקוֹל חָזָק): “Holy, holy, holy is Hashem of Hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory.” (קָדוֹשׁ קָדוֹשׁ קָדוֹשׁ יְיָ צְבָאוֹת מְלֹא כָל הָאָרֶץ כְּבוֹדוֹ).

And He is before all deeds (וְהוּא מִקֶּדֶם לְכָל הַמַּעֲשִׂים), and He is witness to the heavens and the earth (וְהוּא עֵד לֹאֶרֶץ וְשָׁמַיִם), and He is One alone, and none beside Him (וְהוּא לְבַדּוֹ וְאֵין זָר עִמּוֹ).

He suspends His habitation by His arm (תוֹלֶה בִזְרוֹעוֹ מְעוֹנֵהוּ), and in all the habitations is His dread (וּבְכָל הַמְּעוֹנוֹת אֵימָתוֹ), and among all angels is His awe (וּבְכָל הַמַּלְאָכִים יִרְאָתוֹ), for by the breath of His mouth they were hewn (כִּי בְרוּחַ פִּיו נַחְצָבוּ), and by the splendor of His majesty they were established (וּלְהַדַּר חֶסְנוֹ נִצָּבוּ).

And He is One, and who shall turn Him? (וְהוּא בְאֶחָד וּמִי יְשִׁיבֶנּוּ), and if He commands, none may revoke it (וְאִם צִוָּה אֵין לְבַטֵּל), for He is King of Kings (כִּי הוּא מֶלֶךְ מַלְכֵי הַמְּלָכִים), ruler over all kings of the earth (מוֹשֵׁל עַל כָּל מַלְכֵי הָאָרֶץ), and exalted above the angels of heaven (וּמִתְנַשֵּׂא בְּמַלְאֲכֵי שָׁמַיִם), examiner of hearts before they are formed (חוֹקֵר לְבָבוֹת עַד לֹא נוֹצְרוּ), and knower of thoughts before they arise (וְיוֹדֵעַ מַחֲשָׁבוֹת עַד לֹא תִּהְיֶינָה).

Blessed is His Name and blessed is the splendor of His majesty for all eternity (בָּרוּךְ שְׁמוֹ וּמְבוֹרָךְ יֵקָר הֲדָרוֹ לְעוֹלְמֵי עוֹלָמִים), for everlasting ages and evermore (וְלַנֶּצַח נְצָחִים וְעַדֵּי עַד), for there is none besides Him as God, and no other god but He (כִּי אֵין מִבַּלְעָדָו אֵל וּזְלָתוֹ אֵין אֱלֹהִים).

Blessed is His Name in every generation (בָּרוּךְ שְׁמוֹ בְּכָל דּוֹר וָדוֹר), and blessed is He in the habitations above (וּמְבוֹרָךְ בִּמְעוֹנֵי מָעְלָה). Blessed is His Name in His might (בָּרוּךְ שְׁמוֹ בִּגְבוּרָתוֹ), and blessed is His remembrance in the splendor of His strength (וּמְבוֹרָךְ זִכְרוֹ בְּתִפְאֶרֶת עוּזּוֹ), for as His Name, so is His praise (כִּי כִשְׁמוֹ כֵּן תְּהִלָּתוֹ), as it is said: “As Your Name, O God, so is Your praise to the ends of the earth; righteousness fills Your right hand.” (שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר: כִּשְׁמְךָ אֱלֹהִים כֵּן תְּהִלָּתְךָ עַד קְצוֵי אָרֶץ צֶדֶק מָלְאָה יְמִינֶךָ).

He draws near the pure to His awe (וְהוּא מְקָרֵב טְהוֹרִים לְיִרְאָתוֹ), and distances the impure in the fury of His wrath (וּמְרַחֵק טְמֵאִים בַּחֲמַת עֶבְרָתוֹ). He shifts mountains in might and strength (מַעֲתִיק הָרִים בְּאֵימְצָה וּבִגְבוּרָה), and they do not know when He overturns them in His anger (וְלֹא יָדְעוּ כַּאֲשֶׁר הֲפָכָם בְּאַפּוֹ).

He suspends the world like a cluster (תוֹלֶה עוֹלָם כָּאֶשְׁכּוֹל), bears all things (סוֹבֵל הַכֹּל), He was, He is, and He shall be (הָיָה וְהוֹוֶה וְיִהְיֶה), Ancient of Days (וְעַתִּיק יוֹמִין), with Him is vast treasure and righteousness (וְעִמּוֹ הוֹן עָתֵק וּצְדָקָה).

Blessed is His glory from His place (בָּרוּךְ כְּבוֹדוֹ מִמְּקוֹמוֹ), and blessed is He in the splendor of His majesty (וּמְבוֹרָךְ בְּתִפְאֶרֶת יְקָרוֹ). He fills the heart of those who fear Him with knowledge (מְמַלֵּא דַּעַת לֵב יְרֵאָיו), to inquire and to know the strength of His fear (לַחְקֹר וּלְדַעַת עֹז יִרְאַת שְׁמוֹ).

Blessed is His Name in the seat of His glory (בָּרוּךְ שְׁמוֹ בְּמוֹשַׁב הֲדָרוֹ), and blessed is He in the splendor of His strength (וּמְבוֹרָךְ בְּתִפְאֶרֶת עוּזּוֹ). Blessed is His Name in the treasuries of snow (בָּרוּךְ שְׁמוֹ בְּאוֹצְרוֹת שֶׁלֶג), and blessed is He in the rivers of flame (וּמְבוֹרָךְ בִּנְהָרֵי שַׁלְהֶבֶת). Blessed is His Name in the clouds of radiance (בָּרוּךְ שְׁמוֹ בְּעַרְפְלֵי זִיו), and blessed is He in the clouds of glory (וּמְבוֹרָךְ בֶּעָנְנֵי הוֹד).

Blessed is His Name in the chariots of myriads (בָּרוּךְ שְׁמוֹ בְּרֶכֶב רִבְבָבוֹת), and blessed is He in the thousands of Shin’an (וּמְבוֹרָךְ בְּאַלְפֵי שִׁנְאָן).

Blessed is His Name in the chains of fire (בָּרוּךְ שְׁמוֹ בִּשְׁרְשְׁרוֹת הָאֵשׁ), and blessed is He in the flaming cords (וּמְבוֹרָךְ בְּמֵיתָרִי לוֹהֶטֶת).

Blessed is His Name in the voices of thunder (בָּרוּךְ שְׁמוֹ בִּקְלוֹת רְעָמִים), and blessed is He in the flashing of lightning (וּמְבוֹרָךְ בִּרְיצַת בְּרָקִים).

Blessed is Hashem in the mouth of all who are on the earth (בָּרוּךְ יְיָ בְּפִי כָּל אֲשֶׁר בָּאָרֶץ), and blessed is He in the depths of the earth (וּמְבוֹרָךְ בִּתְהוֹמוֹת הָאָרֶץ).

Blessed is Hashem in all the wildernesses (בָּרוּךְ יְיָ בְּכָל הַמִּדְבָּרוֹת), and blessed is He in the waves of the sea (וּמְבוֹרָךְ בְּגַלֵּי הַיָּם).

Blessed is Hashem alone on His Throne (בָּרוּךְ יְיָ לְבַדּוֹ בְּכִסְאוֹ), and blessed is He in the seat of His might (וּמְבוֹרָךְ בִּישִׁיבַת עוּזוֹ).

Blessed is His Name in the mouth of every soul (בָּרוּךְ שְׁמוֹ בְּפִי כָּל נְשָׁמָה), and blessed is He in the song of every creature (וּמְבוֹרָךְ בְּשִׁיר כָּל בְּרִיָּה).

Blessed is Hashem forever, Amen and Amen, Hallelujah.
