And come, see what is between Atika and Ze’ir Anpin This is the master of the nose, from one nostril [comes] life, and from one nostril [comes] life of life This nose—it is the orchard, in which blows the spirit of life to Ze’ir Anpin (הַאי חוֹטָמָא. And we call it forgiveness And it is rest of spirit, sweetening of spirit

The spirit that goes forth from here, from those nostrils, one spirit goes forth to Ze’ir Anpin To awaken him in the Garden of Eden Some say: life from all sides, freedom from all sides, life of life And one spirit of life, with which he is prepared to prepare for the son of David, to know wisdom And from that nostril, is aroused and goes forth spirit from the concealed brain, and is prepared to dwell upon the King Mashiach As it is written (Isaiah 11): “And the spirit of Hashem shall rest upon him, the spirit of Chokhmah and Binah, the spirit of counsel and Gevurah, the spirit of Da’at and the fear of Hashem” (דִּכְתִּיב, וְנָחָה עָלָיו רוּחַ יְיָ רוּחַ חָכְמָה וּבִינָה רוּחַ עֵצָה וּגְבוּרָה רוּחַ דַּעַת וְיִרְאַת יְיָ). Behold, here are four spirits, and behold one spirit we have said. Why three? Rise, Rabbi Yosei, in your standing

Rabbi Yosei arose and said (קָם רִבִּי יוֹסֵי וְאָמַר): In the days of King Mashiach (בְּיוֹמוֹי דְּמַלְכָּא מְשִׁיחָא), they shall not say, one to another, “Teach me wisdom” (לָא יֵימְרוּן חַד לְחַד, אֲלִיף לִי חָכְמְתָא), as it is written (דִּכְתִּיב): “And they shall no longer teach, each man his neighbor, etc., for they shall all know Me, from their least to their greatest” (וְלֹא יְלַמְּדוּ עוֹד אִישׁ אֶת רֵעֵהוּ וְגוֹ׳, כִּי כֻלָּם יֵדְעוּ אוֹתִי לְמִקְּטַנָּם וְעַד גְּדוֹלָם) (Jeremiah 31). And at that time (וּבְהַהוּא זִמְנָא), Atik Yomin [Ancient of Days] shall be aroused (יִתְּעַר עַתִּיק יוֹמִין), the spirit that issues from the hidden brain of all (רוּחָא דְּנָפִיק מִמּוֹחָא סְתִימָאָה דְּכֹלָּא), and when this is drawn forth (וְכַד יִשְׁלוֹף דָּא), all the spirits below shall be aroused with it (כָּל רוּחִין דִּלְתַּתָּא יִתְּעֲרוּן עִמֵּיהּ). And who are they? They are [two] holy crowns of Ze’ir Anpin And they are six other spirits (וְאִינּוּן שִׁיתָא רוּחִין אַחֲרָנִין), [some say: for so it is] (ס״א: דהכי). [Some say: six spirits—three spirits that include three others] (ס״א: שיתא רוחין, ג׳ רוחין אינון דכללינן תלת אחרנין). As it is written (דִּכְתִּיב): “The spirit of Chokhmah [Wisdom] and Binah [Understanding], the spirit of counsel and Gevurah [Might], the spirit of Da’at [Knowledge] and the fear of Hashem” (רוּחַ חָכְמָה וּבִינָה רוּחַ עֵצָה וּגְבוּרָה רוּחַ דַּעַת וְיִרְאַת יְיָ).

As we have learned, it is written (I Chronicles 29): “And Shlomo sat upon the throne of Hashem” (דְּתָנֵינָן, כְּתִיב וַיֵּשֶׁב שְׁלֹמֹה עַל כִּסֵּא יְיָ). And it is written (I Kings 10): “Six steps to the throne” (וּכְתִיב שֵׁשׁ מַעֲלוֹת לַכִּסֵּא). And the King Mashiach is prepared to sit upon seven—six they are, and the spirit of Atik Yomin above them, behold seven As it was said: three spirits they are, that include three others (כְּמָה דְּאִתְּמַר. Rabbi Shimon said to him: Your spirit shall rest in the world that is coming

Come and see, it is written: “Thus says Hashem: From the four winds, come, O spirit, and so on” (תָּא חֲזֵי, כְּתִיב כֹּה אָמַר יְיָ מֵאַרְבַּע רוּחוֹת בֹּאִי הָרוּחַ וְגוֹ׳). And are the four winds of the world—what do they do here? Rather, four spirits will be aroused Three they are, and the spirit of Atika Setima’ah, four—and so they are (ג׳ אִינּוּן. For when this one goes forth, three go forth with it, which are included within three others And Kudsha Berikh Hu is prepared to bring forth one spirit, which is inclusive of them all As it is written: “From the four winds, come, O spirit” (דִּכְתִּיב מֵאַרְבַּע רוּחוֹת בֹּאִי הָרוּחַ). It does not say, “Four winds, come,” here, but rather, “From the four winds, come” (אַרְבַּע רוּחוֹת בֹּאִי לָא כְּתִיב כָּאן, אֶלָּא מֵאַרְבַּע רוּחוֹת בֹּאִי). And in the days of the King Mashiach, they will not need to learn one from another, for their spirit, which is inclusive of all spirits, will be known to all Chokhmah and Binah, counsel and Gevurah, Da’at and the fear of Hashem Because the spirit is inclusive of all spirits Therefore it is written: “From the four winds,” which are four, that are included in the seven supernal levels which we have mentioned And it is taught: all of them are included in this spirit of Atika of Atikin, which goes forth from the concealed brain to the nostril And come and see what is between nose and nose The nose of Atik Yomin is life from all its sides The nose of Ze’ir Anpin, as it is written (II Samuel 22): “Smoke went up in His nose, and fire from His mouth devoured, and so on” (חוֹטָמָא דִּזְעֵיר אַפִּין, כְּתִיב, עָלָה עָשָׁן בְּאַפּוֹ וְאֵשׁ מִפִּיו תֹּאכֵל וְגוֹ׳). “Smoke went up in His nose,” and from that smoke burns fire, when the anger goes up afterward “Coals were kindled from it” (גֶּחָלִים בָּעֲרוּ מִמֶּנּוּ). What is “from it”?—Some say: from that smoke From that nose, from that fire

It was taught: When Rav Hamnuna Sava desired to pray his prayer, he said: To the Master of the Nose I pray, to the Master of the Nose I supplicate And this is what is written (Isaiah 48): “And My praise I will restrain for you” (וְהַיְינוּ דִּכְתִּיב וּתְהִלָּתִי אֶחטָם לָךְ). This verse was said concerning Atik Yomin

It was taught: The length of the nose is three hundred and seventy-five worlds, filled from that nose And all of them cleave to Ze’ir Anpin This is the praise of the Tikkun of the nose And all the Tikkunim of Atik Yomin are seen and not seen—seen to the masters of judgment, and not seen to all

Rabbi Shimon opened and said (פָּתַח רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן וְאָמַר): Woe to the one who stretches his hands into the precious supernal beard of the Holy Elder, hidden and concealed from all (וַוי מַאן דְּאוֹשִׁיט יְדוֹי בְּדִיקְנָא יַקִּירָא עִלָּאָה, דְּסָבָא קַדִּישָׁא, טְמִירָא וּסְתִימָא מִכֹּלָּא). Some say: hidden and closed A beard of that praise, the beard which is hidden and precious from all its Tikkunim A beard unknown to supernal and lower [beings] (דִּיקְנָא דְּלָא יַדְעִין עִלָּאִין וְתַתָּאִין). A beard that is the praise of all praises A beard that no human, prophet, or Holy one has approached to behold A beard that hangs in its hairs down to the navel of the heart White as snow, precious of the precious Hidden of the hidden (טְמִירָא דִּטְמִירִין). Faith of the faith of all
