The second head (רֵישָׁא תִּנְיָינָא), which goes after the first head (דְּאָזִיל בְּרֵישָׁא קַדְמָאָה), its number is fifty-four thousand and four hundred (חוּשְׁבָּן דִּילֵיהּ חַמְשִׁין וְאַרְבַּע אֶלֶף, וְאַרְבַּע מְאָה). Aside from all those appointed ones beneath to the four directions (בַּר כָּל אִלֵּין מְמָנָן דִּתְחוֹת לְד׳ סִטְרִין), which have no reckoning (דְּלֵית לוֹן חוּשְׁבָּנָא). The third head (רֵישָׁא תְּלִיתָאָה), which goes after them (דְּאָזִיל בַּתְרַיְיהוּ), fifty-seven thousand and four hundred (חַמְשִׁין וְשִׁבְעָה אֶלֶף, וְאַרְבַּע מְאָה). Just as it is on the right, so too it is on the left (כְּגַוְונָא דְּנָטִיל יְמִינָא, הָכִי נָמֵי נָטִיל שְׂמָאלָא), so too before them, so too after them (הָכִי נָמֵי מִקַּמַּיְיהוּ, הָכִי נָמֵי מִבַּתְרַיְיהוּ).

When this first one took up, the Mishkan was lowered And all the Levites said song (וְכֻלְּהוּ לֵיוָואֵי אַמְרֵי שִׁירָתָא), masters of praise all from his side (מָארֵי דְּתוּשְׁבְּחָן כֻּלְּהוּ מִסִּטְרֵיהּ). Then it is written (כְּדֵין כְּתִיב): “For the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels” (כִּי רוּחַ הַחַיָּה בָּאוֹפַנִּים) (Ezekiel 1).

The second banner (דִּגְלָא תִּנְיָינָא), its encampment armed, the eagle (מַשִׁרְיָיא מִזַּיְינָא, נֶשֶׁ״ר), Uriel (אוּרִיאֵ״ל), in the south (דָּרוֹ״ם). Two appointed ones with him (תְּרֵי מְמָנָן עִמֵּיהּ): Shamshiel, Ḥasdiel (שַׁמְשִׁיאֵ״ל, חַסְדִּיאֵ״ל). This eagle ascends (הַאי נֶשֶׁר סָלִיק), and all masters of wings stand before him (וְכָל מָארֵיהוֹן דְּגַדְפִּין מִקַּמֵּיהּ). Many hosts ascend in all directions Each and every one with the force of the sun

A spirit from an inner spirit goes forth (רוּחָא דְּרוּחָא פְּנִימָאָה נָפִיק), and that spirit reaches to this eagle (וְהַהוּא רוּחָא מָטֵי לְהַאי נֶשֶׁר), and raises his wings and covers his body (וְסָלִיק אֶבְרוֹי וּמְכַסְּיָיא לְגוּפָא). As you say (כְּמָה דְאַתְּ אָמֵר): “Is it by your understanding that the hawk soars, spreads his wings toward the south?” (Job 39). In this likeness, as it is said, “As an eagle stirs up her nest” (כְּגַוְונָא כְּדוּגְמָא כְּעֵין כְּנֶשֶׁר יָעִיר קִנּוֹ) (Deuteronomy 32), this eagle is a hawk together with a dove (הַאי נֶשֶׁר נֵץ בַּהֲדֵיהּ יוֹנָה), together with a hawk (בַּהֲדֵיהּ נֵץ). And all masters of wings all chirp and rejoice One from a side (חַד מִסִּטְרָא), some say: one support (ס״א חַד סַמְכָּא), before him (קָמֵּיהּ), ascends from below to above (סָלִיק מִתַּתָּא לְעֵילָּא). Many birds go down and go up (כַּמָה צִיפָּרִין נַחְתִּין וְעָאלִין), chirping and rejoicing (מְצַפְצְפָן וְחַדָּאן), going and flying (אַזְלִין וְשָׁאטִין).

When he takes, he stretches forth the right wing (כַּד נָטִיל, אוֹשִׁיט גַּדְפָּא יְמִינָא), gathering to himself all his hosts (כָּנִישׁ לְכָל חֵילוֹי), three hundred and fifty thousand masters of wings (תְּלַת מְאָה וְחַמְשִׁין אֶלֶף מָארֵי דְּגַדְפִין), in two bodies, eagle and lion together (בִּתְרֵי גּוּפֵי, נֶשֶׁ״ר וְאַרְיֵ״ה כַּחֲדָא). He raises a voice (אָרִים קָלָא), all the others ascend and descend (כֻּלְּהוּ אַחֲרָנִין סַלְּקִין וְנַחְתִּין), chirping from their sides (מְצַפְצְפָן מִסִּטְרַיְיהוּ), from many levels (מִכַּמָּה דַּרְגִּין).

Three heads are as one in these hosts And all are in one reckoning And the reckoning of these heads (וְחוּשְׁבָּן דְּאִלֵּין רֵישִׁין): the first head, forty-six thousand and five hundred (רֵישָׁא חֲדָא, אַרְבְּעִין וְשִׁית אֶלֶף וַחֲמֵשׁ מְאָה). The second head, fifty-nine thousand and three hundred The third head, forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty From these two sides (מֵאִלֵּין תְּרֵי סִטְרִין), go forth two heralds (נָפִיק תְּרֵין כָּרוֹזֵי), that go before all the hosts (דְּאָזְלֵי מִקַּמֵּי כֻּלְּהוּ מַשִּׁרְיָין). When these two proclaim (כַּד אִלֵּין תְּרֵי מַכְרִיזֵי), all the armies and all the hosts (כָּל חֵילִין, וְכָל מַשִּׁרְיָין), small creatures with great ones (חֵיוָון זְעִירִין עִם רַבְרְבָן), all are gathered together (כֻּלְּהוּ מִתְכַּנְּשֵׁי). Who has seen the taking up of all the firmaments (מַאן חָמֵי נְטִילָא דְּכֻלְּהוּ רְקִיעִין), all of them are taken up in order with the hosts (כּוּלְּהוּ נַטְלִין בְּמַטוּלָא בְּמַשִּׁרְיָין), before that Mishkan (לְקַמֵּיהּ דְּהַהוּא מַשְׁכְּנָא).

At the time when one of them, that which comes from the side of the lion (בְּשַׁעֲתָא דְּחַד מִנַּיְיהוּ, הַהוּא דְּאָתֵי מִסִּטְרָא דְּאַרְיֵה), sends forth a voice (פָּשִׁיט קָלָא), so that all those voices not be shaken (בְּגִין דְּלָא יִזְדַּעְזְעוּן כָּל אִינּוּן קַלִין). Then all those hosts are gathered together At the time when another calls (בְּשַׁעֲתָא דְּאַחֲרָא קָרֵי), the voice breaks but does not go forth (מַתְּבָּר קָלָא וְלָא פָּשִׁיט), all those hosts of this eagle (כָּל אִינּוּן מַשִׁרְיָין דְּהַאי נֶשֶׁר), all of them are gathered to be taken in their order (כֻּלְּהוּ מִתְכַּנְּשׁוּ לְנַטְלָא בְּמָטַלְנַיְיהוּ). Corresponding to these, “two silver trumpets” (לָקֳבֵיל אִינּוּן, שְׁתֵּי חֲצוֹצְרוֹת כֶּסֶף) (Numbers 10). In this likeness, all below Come and see (תָּא חֲזֵי), when these take, what is written (כַּד אִלֵּין נַטְלִין מַה כְּתִיב): “And when the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them” (וּבְלֶכֶת הַחַיּוֹת יֵלְכוּ הָאוֹפַנִּים אֶצְלָם) (Ezekiel 1), those that are gathered to them (אִינּוּן דְּמִתְכָּנְּשוּ לְגַבַּיְיהוּ), in the likeness that the head is gazed upon, so too are they all (כְּגַוְונָא דְּרֵישָׁא אִסְתְּכַּל, הָכִי נָמֵי כֻּלְּהוּ).

The third banner (דִּגְלָא תְּלִיתָאָה): the ox (שׁוֹר), Gabriel (גַּבְרִיאֵל), north (צָפוֹן). Two appointed ones with him (תְּרֵין מְמָנָן עִמֵּיהּ): Kapziel, Ḥizkiel (קַפְצִיאֵ״ל, חִזְקִיאֵ״ל). This ox is from the side of the left His horns ascend between his two eyes He is enraged in his gaze (רָגִיז בְּאִסְתַּכְּלוּתָא), eyes flaming like fire of burning flame (עַיְינִין מְלַהֲטָן כְּאֶשָּׁא דְּנוּר דָּלִיק). He gores and tramples with his feet and does not pity

When this ox bellows (כַּד גָּעֵי הַאי שׁוֹר), there go forth from the female of the great deep (נָפְקִין מִנוּקְבָּא דִּתְהוֹמָא רַבָּא) many fiery chains - some say: fiery whips (כַּמָה חֲבִילֵי שְׁרִיקִין, ס״א טְרִיקִין), all of them bellowing and going before him (כֻּלְּהוּ גָּעָאן וְשָׁטָאן קָמֵיהּ). And anger and wrath of all sins depend before him (וְחֵימָתָא, וְאַחְמְתָא דְּכָל חוֹבִין תַּלְיָיא קָמֵיהּ), for behold all the sins of the world (דְּהָא כָּל חוֹבֵי עָלְמָא), all of them ascend and are written in the book (כֻּלְּהוּ בְּסִפְרָא סְלִיקִין וּכְתִיבִין).

Seven rivers of fire flow before him When he thirsts, he goes to that river of fire (כַּד צָחֵי אָזִיל לְגַבֵּי הַהוּא נְהַר דִּינוּר), and he drinks it down in a single draught (וְשָׁאִיב לֵיהּ בִּגְמִיעָא חֲדָא). And that river is filled again as before, and is not lacking All those hosts drink fire, consuming fire And were it not that from the side of the lion (וְאִלְמָלֵא דְּמִסִּטְרָא דְּאַרְיֵה), there goes forth a river of water that quenches their coals (נָפִיק חַד נַהֲרָא דְּמַיָיא, דִּמְכַבִּין גַּחֲלָתַיְיהוּ), the world could not endure (לָא יָכִיל עָלְמָא לְמִסְבַּל).

The darkness of the sun is found there (חֲשׁוֹכָא דְּשִׁמְשָׁא תַּמָּן אִשְׁתְּכַח), brightness is not found (לָא אִשְׁתְּכַח נְהִירוּ). Many legions of demons go and fly in the darkness (כַּמָה גַּרְדִּינֵי נִמוּסִין אָזְלִין וְשָׁטָאן בְּחָשׁוֹכָא), and that river burning on that side is black fire of darkness (וְהַהוּא נָהַר דְּדָלִיק בְּסִטְרָא דָּא, נוּרָא אוּכָמָא חֲשׁוּךְ). And if you say there is no white fire, black fire, red fire, fire of two colors (וְאִי תֵּימָא, דְּלָא אִית אֶשָּׁא חִוָּורָא, אֶשָּׁא אוּכָמָא, אֶשָּׁא סוּמָקָא, אֶשָּׁא דִּתְרֵי גְּוָונֵי) - do not say so (לָא תֵּימָא), for behold surely it is so (דְּהָא וַדַּאי הָכִי הוּא). And with all this, above, above it is so found (וְעִם כָּל דָּא לְעֵילָּא לְעֵילָּא הָכִי אִשְׁתְּכַח), and from there it flows to those below (וּמִתַּמָּן נָגִיד לְאִלֵּין תַּתָּאֵי).
