That key revolves and opens another side, on the side of the north Then the Levite enters, the tithe of Ya‘aqov, which he set apart for Kudsha Berikh Hu And a harp of ten strings is with him (וְכִנּוֹר דְּעֶשֶׂר נִימִין עִמֵּיהּ), and he is crowned with his crown (וְאִתְעַטָּר בְּעִטְרוֹי). Then the key turns (וּכְדֵין אִסְתְּחַר מַפְתְּחָא), and opens in that Sanctuary one gate (וּפָתַח בְּהַהוּא הֵיכָלָא חַד תַּרְעָא), that gate which stands in the middle (הַהוּא תַּרְעָא דְּקַיְּימָא בְּאֶמְצָעִיתָא), the pillar on the side of the east (עַמּוּדָא דְּלִסְטַר מִזְרָח). He enters (עָאל), and is crowned with seventy crowns (וְאִתְעַטָּר בְּשִׁבְעִין עִטְרִין). And he is crowned with four letters, which are twelve And he is crowned with engravings of two hundred and seventy thousand worlds And he is crowned with crowns from the ends of the world to the ends of the world (וְאִתְעַטָּר בְּעִטְרִין דְּסַיְיפֵי עָלְמָא עַד סַיְיפֵי עָלְמָא), with many garments of glory (בְּכַמָּה לְבוּשֵׁי יְקָר), with many holy crowns (בְּכַמָּה עִטְרִין קַדִּישִׁין).

That key turns (אִסְתְּחַר הַהוּא מַפְתְּחָא), and opens for him all concealed gates (וּפָתַח לֵיהּ כָּל תַּרְעִין גְּנִיזִין), and all hidden gates of holiness (וְכָל תַּרְעִין דִּקְדּוּשִׁין טְמִירִין). And he is sanctified through them (וְאִתְקַדָּשׁ בְּהוּ), and stands there as a king (וְקַיְּימָא תַּמָּן כְּמַלְכָּא), blessed with many blessings (מִתְבְּרָךְ בְּכַמָּה בִּרְכָאן), and crowned with many crowns (מִתְעַטֵּר בְּכַמָּה עִטְרִין). Then they all go forth in one union, crowned with their crowns as is fitting When they go forth (כֵּיוָן דְּנַפְקֵי), an arousal is made for him with his adornments (אִתְּעַר לֵיהּ בְּקִשׁוּטוֹי). And this Chayyah [living creature] is aroused (וְהַאי חַיָּה אִתְּעָרָא), and makes herself small (וְאַזְעִירַת גַּרְמָהּ), out of the love of the song (מִגּוֹ רְחִימוּ דְּשִׁירָתָא). How does she make herself small out of the love of the song She makes herself smaller and smaller (אַזְעָרַת גַּרְמָהּ זְעֵיר זְעֵיר), until she becomes one point (עַד דְּאִתְעֲבֵידַת נְקוּדָּה חֲדָא).

Once she has made herself small (כֵּיוָן דְּאִיהִי אַזְעִירַת גַּרְמָהּ), through the song (בִּשְׁירָתָא), then it is written (כְּדֵין כְּתִיב): “And a man went from the house of Levi and took a daughter of Levi” (וַיֵּלֶךְ אִישׁ מִבֵּית לֵוִי וַיִּקַּח אֶת בַּת לֵוִי) (Exodus 2). “A daughter of Levi,” certainly (בַּת לֵוִי וַדַּאי), from the side of the left (מִסִּטְרָא דִּשְׂמָאלָא). How did he hold her He stretched forth his left hand beneath her head (אוֹשִׁיט שְׂמָאלָא תְּחוֹת רֵישַׁהּ), out of love (מִגּוֹ חֲבִיבוּ). And if you say (וְאִי תֵּימָא), since she is one point (כֵּיוָן דְּאִיהִי נְקוּדָּה חֲדָא), how can he unite with a small point (אֵיךְ יָכִיל לְאַחֲדָא בִּנְקוּדָּה זְעֵירָא)? Rather, with regard to that which is above (אֶלָּא לְגַבֵּי עֵילָּא), everything that is a small matter (כָּל מַה דְּהוּא מִלָּה זְעֵירָא), this is praise (דָּא תּוּשְׁבַּחְתָּא), this is exaltation (וְדָא עִלּוּיָיא), and it is great in supernal greatness (וְרַב בִּרְבוּ עִלָּאָה).

Immediately, the great Kohen [Priest] is aroused toward her (מִיַּד כַּהֲנָא רַבָּא אִתְּעַר לָהּ), and holds her (וְאָחִיד לָהּ), and embraces her (וְחָבִיק לָהּ). For if she had been great (דְּאִלוּ הֲוַות רַבְרְבָא), they could not unite at all (לָא יַכְלִין לְאַחֲדָא כְּלַל). But once she makes herself small (אֲבָל כֵּיוָן דְּאַזְעִירַת גַּרְמָהּ), and she is one point (וְאִיהִי נְקוּדָּה חֲדָא), then they unite with her (כְּדֵין אֲחָדִין בָּהּ), and raise her above (וְסַלְּקִין לָהּ לְעֵילָּא). When they raise her (כֵּיוָן דְּסַלְּקִין לָהּ), and she sits between these two sides (וְיָתְבָא בֵּין תְּרֵין סִטְרִין אִלֵּין), then that pillar which stands in the middle (כְּדֵין הַהוּא עַמּוּדָא דְּקַיְּימָא בְּאֶמְצָעִיתָא) joins with her in the love of kisses (אִתְחַבָּר בַּהֲדָהּ בְּחָבִיבוּ דִּנְשִׁיקִין), in the love of one union (בִּרְחִימוּ דְּחִבּוּרָא חֲדָא).

Then (כְּדֵין): “And Ya‘akov kissed Rachel” (וַיִּשַּׁק יַעֲקֹב לְרָחֵל) (Bereshit 29), in the love of kisses (בִּרְחִימוּ דְּנְשִׁיקִין). They cleave one to another (מִתְדַּבְּקָן דָּא בְּדָא), without separation (בְּלָא פִּרוּדָא), until she receives the soul of delights as is fitting (עַד דְּנַקְטָא נַפְשָׁא דְּעִנּוּגִין כַּדְּקָא יָאוּת). At the time that she receives the soul of delights as is fitting (בְּשַׁעֲתָא דְּנַקְטָא נַפְשָׁא דְּעִנּוּגִין כַּדְּקָא יָאוּת), and desires to command her hosts (וּבַעְיָא לְפַקְדָּא לְחֵילָהָא), they all gather together (מִתְכַּנְּשִׁין כֻּלְּהוּ), and call to her from the Holy Sanctuary (וְקַרְיָין לָהּ מִגּוֹ הֵיכָלָא קַדִּישָׁא): “Kavod [glory], Kavod [glory], Kavod [glory]” (כָּבוֹד כָּבוֹד כָּבוֹד). In the Holy Sanctuary (בְּהֵיכָלָא קַדִּישָׁא), Abba [Father] and Imma [Mother] open and say (אַבָּא וְאִמָּא, פַּתְחֵי וְאַמְרֵי): “Sanctified, sanctified” (מְקוּדָּשׁ מְקוּדָּשׁ). Then the moon is sanctified as is fitting

And then it is written (וּכְדֵין כְּתִיב): “And in the first month” (וּבַחֹדֶשׁ הָרִאשׁוֹן)—first, certainly (רִאשׁוֹן וּדְאַי). And concerning this (וְעַל דָּא): “Draw, etc.” (מִשְׁכוּ וְגוֹ׳) (Exodus 12). And concerning this (וְעַל דָּא): “On the tenth of this month” (בֶּעָשׂוֹר לַחֹדֶשׁ הַזֶּה) (Exodus 12), for the moon is joined with the sun (דְּאִתְחַבַּר סִיהֲרָא בְּשִׁמְשָׁא). And that which had been one point (וּמַה דַּהֲוַת נְקוּדָּה חֲדָא), when she descends (כַּד נַחְתָּא), spreads out little by little (אִתְפְּשָׁט זְעֵיר זְעֵיר), and is filled (וְאִתְמַלְּיָיא), and becomes Heh (וְאִתְעָבִידַת ה׳), filled from every side (מַלְיָיא מִכָּל סִטְרִין), sanctified as is fitting (מִתְקַדְּשָׁא כַּדְּקָא יָאוּת).
