The sockets of his eyes are large and sloped downward In those colors of the eye are seen faint red lines stretched in length These lines are called small letters of the eye (אִינּוּן רְשִׁימִין אִקְרוּן אַתְוָון זְעִירִין דְּעֵינָא), because these are the colors of the eye (בְּגִין דְּאִינּוּן גַּוְונִין דְּעֵינָא). If they shine with Nehiru (אִי נְהִרִין בִּנְהִירוּ), then that radiance causes the letters to become visible (הַהוּא נְהִירוּ סָלִיק אַתְוָון לְאִתְחֲזָאָה), to those who are masters of discernment (לְאִינוּן מָארֵי דְּמִדִּין). In those other faint lines (בְּאִינּוּן רְשִׁימִין אַחֲרָנִין דְּקִיקִין), this is the letter Samekh (וְהַאי אִיהוּ בְּאָת ס׳), and it is encompassed by the letter Heh (וּכְלִילָא בְּאָת ה׳).
Green eyes with white surroundings Some say: that are encircled by white (נ״א: דְּמַסְחֲרָא), and those greens are mingled in that whiteness (וּמִתְעָרְבִין אִינּוּן יְרוֹקִין בְּהַהוּא חִוָּורוּ) he is compassionate (רַחֲמָנָא אִיהוּ), and he is constantly thinking about his own benefit (וְאִיהוּ חָשִׁיב תָּדִיר לְתוֹעַלְתֵּיהּ), and does not consider at all the damage to others (וְלָא חָשִׁיב לְנִזְקָא דְּאַחֲרָנִין כְּלוּם).
The black color is not visible in him He is pleasant (חָמִיד אִיהוּ) and not from an evil side (וְלָא מִסִּטְרָא בִּישָׁא). But if the evil side succeeds through him (וְאִי סַלְּקָא בִּידֵיהּ מִסִּטְרָא בִּישָׁא), it does not remain with him (לָא יֵתוּב מִנֵּיהּ). He is trustworthy in what is revealed to him (מְהֵימָנָא אִיהוּ בְּמָה דְּאִשְׁתְּמוֹדְעָא), but in what is not revealed, he is not trustworthy (וּבַמֶּה דְּלָא אִשְׁתְּמוֹדְעָא לָאו מְהֵימָנָא אִיהוּ). He is a master of secrets (מָארֵיהּ דְּרָזִין אִיהוּ), for a matter that is a secret, until he hears that secret in another place (בְּמִלָּה דְּאִיהוּ רָזָא, עַד דְּיִשְׁמַע לְהַהוּא רָזָא בְּאֲתַר אַחֲרָא). Once he hears it, he reveals everything (כֵּיוָן דִּשְׁמַע לֵיהּ גַּלֵּי כֹּלָּא), and the secret does not remain with him at all (וְלָאו עִמֵּיהּ רָזָא כְּלָל), for all his words are not in completeness (דְּכָל מִלּוֹי לָאו אִינּוּן בִּשְׁלִימוּ). The colors of his eyes rotate in whiteness and greenness This is in the secret of the letter Heh (דָּא אִיהוּ בְּרָזָא דְּאָת ה׳), which is included in Zayin (וְאִתְכְּלִיל בְּאָת ז׳), and in Samekh (וּבְאָת ס׳).
Eyes that are yellow-green (עַיְּינִין צְהִיבִין יְרוֹקִין) madness is in him (שִׁגְעוֹנָא אִית בֵּיהּ). And because of his madness (וּבְגִין שִׁגְעוֹנֵיהּ), his mouth speaks in grandiosity (אִיהוּ פּוּם מְמַלֵּל רַבְרְבָן), and he presents himself as a great man (וְעָבִיד גַּרְמֵיהּ כְּבַר נָשׁ רַב), in grandeur (בְּרַבְרְבָנוּ). And one who contends with him (וּמַאן דְּאִתְתַּקַּף בֵּיהּ), he overcomes him (נֶצַח לֵיהּ). He is not fit for the secrets of the Orayta (לָא אִתְחָזֵי לְרָזִין דְּאוֹרַיְּיתָא), because his heart does not remember those secrets (דְּהָא לָא שָׁכִיךְ בְּלִבֵּיהּ בְּאִינּוּן רָזִין), though he acts as if he is great in them (דְּעָבִיד גַּרְמֵיהּ רַב בְּהוּ). This is in the secret of the letter Heh (דָּא אִיהוּ בְּרָזָא דְּאָת ה׳), and is included in Zayin alone (וְאִתְכְּלִיל בְּאָת ז׳ בִּלְחוֹדוֹי), but distanced from Samekh (וְאִתְרְחַק מֵאָת ס׳). And because he made himself grand (וּבְגִין דְּאִיהוּ עָבֵד גַּרְמֵיהּ בְּרַבְרְבָנוּ), he was separated from the letter Samekh (אִתְרְחַק מִנֵּיהּ מֵאָת ס׳), and it does not come near him (וְלָא אִתְקְרִיב בַּהֲדֵיהּ). This one, when he speaks, forms many furrows on his forehead
Eyes that are white (עַיְּינִין חִוָּורִין), slightly tinged with green (דְּסַחֲרָן זְעֵיר בִּירוֹקָא) he is a master of anger (מָארֵיהּ דְּרוּגְזָא), and a compassionate one most of the time (וְרַחֲמָנָא אִיהוּ לְרוֹב זִמְנִין). But when he is filled with anger (וְכַד אִתְמְלֵי רוּגְזָא), there is no compassion in him at all (לֵית בֵּיהּ רְחִימוּ כְּלָל), and he turns to cruelty (וְאִתְהַפָּךְ לְאַכְזָרִיּוּת). He is not a master of secrets This is in the Secret of the letter Heh (דָּא אִיהוּ בְּרָזָא דְּאָת ה׳), which is included in the letter Samekh (דְּאִתְכְּלִיל בְּאָת ס׳).
