Chapter Five (פֶּרֶק חֲמִישִּׁי)
These are the ten Sefirot, which are in the very body of Tehiru (אֵלֶּה הֵם הָעֶשֶׂר סְפִירוֹת אֲשֶׁר הֵם בְּגוּף הַטְּהִירוּ מַמָּשׁ), standing in the circle of the sphere (עוֹמְדִים בְּעִיגּוּל הַכַּדּוּר), and there these lights shine forth and illuminate each other (וְשָׁם אֵלּוּ הָאוֹרוֹת הֵם מִתְנוֹצְצִים לָהֶם וּמְאִירִים אֲהֲדָדֵי), in the secret of colors unformed (בְּסוֹד גְּוָנִים בִּלְתִּי מֻגְלָמִים), flowing from total concealment (נוֹבְעִים מִן הַהֶעְלֵם הַגָּמוּר). And from them were later spread within the space of Tehiru, from itself and within itself, ten points of the World of Tohu (וּמֵהֶם נִתְפַּשְּׁטוּ אַחַר כָּךְ בְּחָלָל הַטְּהִירוּ מִנֵּיהּ וּבֵיהּ עֶשֶׂר נְקֻדוֹת שֶׁל עוֹלַם הַתֹּהוּ), included in one single point in a general manner (כְּלוּלִים בְּנְקֻדָּה אַחַת בְּדֶרֶךְ כְּלָל), but without particularity within it (אֲבָל אֵין בָּהּ פְּרָט), and therefore the ten points were not seen or recognized within it (וְלָכֵן לֹא הָיוּ נִרְאִים וְנִכָּרִים הָעֶשֶׂר נְקֻדוֹת בָּהּ, כָּל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד בִּפְרָטִיּוּתוֹ), as will be explained in the next gate (כְּמוֹ שֶׁיָּבוֹא בְּשַׁעַר אַחֵר זֶה). And that point was filling the space of Tehiru (וְהִיא הָיְתָה מְמַלְּאָה אוֹתוֹ הַחָלָל שֶׁל טְהִירוּ). And still the term “place” could not be accurately applied to it (וְעֲדַיִן לֹא יִצְדָּק בּוֹ תֹּאַר מָקוֹם), for the point itself which stands established within it (שֶׁהֲרֵי הַנְּקֻדָּה עַצְמָהּ הַמִּתְקוֹמֶמֶת), and situated within it (הַמִּתְמַקֶּמֶת בוֹ), is indivisible (הִיא בִּלְתִּי מִתְחַלֶּקֶת), because it does not possess real substance from the power of the great light (מִפְּנֵי שֶׁאֵין בָּהּ מַמָּשׁ מִכֹּחַ הָאוֹר הַגָּדוֹל), until the light of that point was gathered back in to reveal the ten within her (עַד שֶׁחָזַר וְקִבֵּץ הָאוֹר שֶׁל אוֹתָהּ הַנְּקֻדָּה לְגַלּוֹת הָעֶשֶׂר שֶׁבְּתוֹכָהּ). And every return is judgment (וְכָל חֲזָרָה הִיא דִּין). And even though Ein Sof intends within it to act with kindness toward all creatures (וְאַף עַל פִּי שֶׁאֵין סוֹף מְכַוֵּן עַצְמוֹ בָּהּ לַעֲשׂוֹת חֶסֶד עִם כָּל הַיְצוּר), for without this they would have no existence at all (שֶׁבִּלְעֲדֵי זֶה לֹא הָיָה לָהֶם מְצִיאוּת), still it cannot be avoided that the tzimtzum is regarded as an act of judgment (אֵין לְהִמָּלֵט שֶׁהַצִּמְצוּם יֵחָשֵׁב הֱיוֹתוֹ כְּפֹעַל־הַדִּין), in relation to one from whom the light departs (בְּעֵרֶךְ לְמִי שֶׁהָאוֹר מִסְתַּלֵּק מִמֶּנּוּ). And the name of Tehiru is thirteen Kufin (וְשֵׁם שֶׁל טְהִירוּ הוּא י״ג קוּפִ״ין), and all of it was made from the Mems of Adam Kadma’ah, as we explained (וְהַכֹּל נַעֲשָׂה מֵהַמֵּמִי״ן שֶׁל אָדָם קַדְמָאָה כַּאֲשֶׁר פֵּרַשְׁנוּ). And the three additional ones come from the three components of the Yod (וְהַשְּׁלֹשָׁה הַיֵּתֵרִים בָּאִים מִתְּלַת חֶלְקֵי הַיּו״ד). And this is the secret of what our Rabbis of blessed memory said (וְזֶהוּ סוֹד אָמְרָם זִכְרוֹנָם לִבְרָכָה): "This Kuf is the Holy One, Blessed be He" (קוּף זֶה הקב״ה), for Kuf has the numerical value of Makom [Place] (כִּי קוּף גִּימַטְרִיָּיא מָקוֹם), and He is the Makom [Place] of the world (שֶׁהוּא מְקוֹמוֹ שֶׁל עוֹלָם), and He includes all the worlds within the space of His sphere (שֶׁהוּא כּוֹלֵל כָּל הָעוֹלָמוֹת בְּתוֹךְ חָלָלוֹ שֶׁל כַּדּוּרוֹ). And the one who understands will understand (וְהַמֵּבִין יָבִין).
