Chapter Seven (פֶּרֶק שְׁבִיעִי)

The Tav of the Partzuf of Keter is the Malkhut of the World of the Garment (הַתָּיו שֶׁל פַּרְצוּף כֶּתֶר הִיא מַלְכוּת שֶׁל עוֹלַם הַמַּלְבּוּשׁ), her legs spread into the Primordial Air for the sake of the world (רַגְלֶיהָ מִתְפַּשְּׁטִים בַּאֲוִיר קַדְמוֹן לְצוֹרֶךְ הָעוֹלָם), and because her legs flow and extend into the Primordial Air, which is made from the Reshimu (וּמִפְּנֵי שֶׁרַגְלֶיהָ מַשְׁפִּיעִים וּמִתְפַּשְּׁטִים בַּאֲוִיר קַדְמוֹן שֶׁנַּעֲשָׂה מִן הָרְשִׁימוּ), and in this the Tav has great adhesion with this Reshimu (וּבָזֶה יֵשׁ לַתָּיו דְּבֵקוּת גָּדוֹל עִם הָרְשִׁימוּ הַזֶּה), therefore all the Reshimot that are inscribed below are in this letter (לָכֵן כָּל הָרְשִׁימוֹת הַנִּרְשָׁמִים לְמַטָּה הֵם בָּאוֹת הַזֹּאת), as I will explain (כַּאֲשֶׁר אֲבָאֵר). And since her Reshimu had more substance than all the other letters (וּלְהִיוֹת שֶׁהָרְשִׁימוּ שֶׁלָּהּ הָיָה בּוֹ יוֹתֵר מַמָּשׁ מִכָּל שְׁאָר הָאוֹתִיּוֹת), because she extended downward (מִפְּנֵי שֶׁנִּתְפַּשְּׁטָה לְמַטָּה), therefore all things inscribed below are in the mystery of Tav (לָזֶה כָּל הַדְּבָרִים הַנִּרְשָׁמִים לְמַטָּה הֵם בְּסוֹד תָּיו). This is what is said in the Zohar: “Tav marks the Reshimu for Atik Yomin” (Zohar III:128b) (זֶהוּ מַה שֶּׁאָמְרוּ בַּזֹּהַר: תָּיו רָשֵׁים רִשּׁוּמָא לְעַתִּיק יוֹמִין), meaning, it is inscribed below in the Malkhut of the Head which is not known (כְּלוֹמַר: שֶׁנִּרְשְׁמָה לְמַטָּה בְּמַלְכוּת דְּרֵישָׁא דְּלָא אִתְיְדַּע), which is the head of Atika (שֶׁהוּא הָרֵאשׁ שֶׁל עַתִּיקָא). And from there she descended below until she was inscribed on every forehead of man (וּמִשָּׁם יָרְדָה לְמַטָּה עַד שֶׁנִּרְשְׁמָה בְּכָל מֵצַח בֶּן אָדָם), as it is written: “And you shall mark a Tav upon the foreheads of the men” (Ezekiel 9:4) (כַּדִּכְתִיב: וְהִתְוִיתָ תָּיו עַל־מִצְחוֹת הָאֲנָשִׁים).“Tav dies, Tav lives”(Shabbat 55a) (תָּיו תָּמוּת תָּיו תִּחְיֶה).
