Chapter Two (פֶּרֶק שֵׁנִי)

It is necessary to analyze, expound, and understand (יֵשׁ לְדַקְדֵּק וְלִדְרוֹשׁ וְלָדַעַת), who gave the Yod this power to descend below (מִי נָתַן לַיּוֹ״ד הַכֹּחַ הַזֶּה לֵרֵד לְמַטָּה). Answer: Know that she received strength from the letters preceding her in the Name S”G (תְּשׁוּבָה: דַּע שֶׁלָּקְחָה כֹּחַ מִן הָאוֹתִיּוֹת שֶׁלְּפָנֶיהָ, שֶׁבְּשֵׁם ס״ג), as I will explain, if Hashem, blessed be He, wills (כַּאֲשֶׁר אֲפָרֵשׁ אִם יִרְצֶה הַשֵּׁם בָּרוּךְ הוּא). Nonetheless, we are not saved from one difficulty (וְעַל כָּל פָּנִים לֹא נִצַּלְנוּ מִכֹּחַ קֻשְׁיָא אַחַת), for it is known that every holy light, when it is above (יָדוּעַ כִּי כָּל אוֹר קָדוֹשׁ בִּהְיוֹתוֹ לְמַעְלָה), has no desire to descend below (אֵין לוֹ תַּאֲוָה לֵרֵד לְמַטָּה), but on the contrary-its strongest inclination and longing is to cleave to its root (וְאַדְרַבָּה עַל צַד הַיּוֹתֵר, דְּבֵיקוּתוֹ וְתַשְׁוּקָתוֹ לְהִדָּבֵק בְּשָׁרְשׁוֹ), and not to descend below (וְלֹא לֵרֵד לְמַטָּה). And why, then, did this Yod descend below (וּמַדּוּעַ הַיּו״ד הַזֹּאת יָרְדָה לְמַטָּה), and who compelled her to this (וּמִי הִכְרִיחָהּ עַל זֶה). Answer: Know that she is fixed in the Partzuf of K”T, which is the Partzuf of the Shekhina (תְּשׁוּבָה: דַּע כִּי הִיא נִקְבַּעַת בְּפַרְצוּף כּ״ת שֶׁהוּא פַּרְצוּף שְׁכִינָה), and she is the end of the upper half of the garment (וְהִיא סוֹף חֲצִי הַמַּלְבּוּשׁ הָעֶלְיוֹן). It follows that this Kaf of the Partzuf of K”T of Malkhut struck her and said to her (נִמְצָא שֶׁהַכַּ״ף הַזֹּאת שֶׁל פַּרְצוּף כּ״ת שֶׁל מַלְכוּת טָפְחָה עָלֶיהָ וְאָמְרָה לָהּ): Go down below and place there your Milui (לְכִי לְמַטָּה וְתַנִּיחִי שָׁם הַמִּלּוּי שֶׁלָּךְ), which is two Partzufim (שֶׁהוּא ד״וּ פַּרְצוּפִין). As they, of blessed memory, said: Adam haRishon was created with two Partzufim (כְּאָמְרָם ז״ל אָדָם הָרִאשׁוֹן ד״וּ פַּרְצוּפִין בְּרָאוֹ), whose numerical value is ten (חֶשְׁבּוֹנוֹ עֶשֶׂר), from which the ten Sefirot will emerge (שֶׁמֵהֶם יָבוֹאוּ עֶשֶׂר סְפִירוֹת), in the secret of a point in which ten are included (בְּסוֹד נְקֻדָּה שֶׁכְּלוּלִים בְּתוֹכָהּ עֶשֶׂר), and afterwards He brought them out from potential into actuality (וְאַחַר כָּךְ הוֹצִיאָם מִכֹּחַ אֶל הַפּוֹעַל), as I will explain in the Gate of Tehiru (כַּאֲשֶׁר אֲבָאֵר בִּשְׁעַר הַטְּהִירוּ).
