A Sermon Delivered by Rabbi Shlomo Molcho in Mantua דְּרָשָׁה שֶׁנָּשָׂא ר׳ שְׁלֹמֹה מוֹלְכוֹ בְּמַנְטוּבָה

Opening Remarks by the Transcriber of the Sermon (דִּבְרֵי פְּתִיחָה מֵאֵת רוֹשֵׁם הַדְּרָשָׁה)

From what has appeared visibly to the human eye-three faces of the sun these past few days (מִמַּה שֶׁנִּרְאָה לַחֲוֹשׁ רְאוּת בְּנֵי הָאָדָם שְׁלוֹשָׁה פַּרְצוּפֵי שֶׁמֶשׁ זֶה יָמִים מָה), and the matter is wondrous beyond knowledge (וּפְלִיאָה דַּעַת מֵהֶם), before the eyes of all who saw them (בִּפְנֵי כָּל הָאֲנָשִׁים הָרוֹאִים אוֹתָם), and the ears of those who hear it will tingle (וְהַשּׁוֹמֵעַ תִּצֶּלְנָה אָזְנָיו): incline your ears to the words of the master (הַטּוּ אָזְנֵיכֶם לִדְבָרֵי הָאָדוֹן), the esteemed Rabbi Shlomo Molcho, may his lamp shine (כַּמָּה״ר שְׁלֹמֹה מוֹלְכוֹ נֵרוֹ יוֹאִיר), the pious one and the Kabbalist (הַחָסִיד וְהַמְקוּבָּל), for this is no empty matter (כִּי לֹא דָבָר רֵק הוּא). And he raised his voice on high (וַיִּשָּׂא בַמָּרוֹם קוֹלוֹ), before the members of the great assembly in Mantua (בִּפְנֵי אַנְשֵׁי כְּנֶסֶת הַגְּדוֹלָה בְּמַנְטוּבָא), men, women, and children (אֲנָשִׁים נָשִׁים וְטַף), Jews and Christians (יְהוּדִים וְנוֹצְרִים).
