Chapter 22, Section 1 (פֶּרֶק כ״ב אוֹת א׳)

1. And if he said (א. וְאִם אָמַר): “I possess these two qualities” (יֵשׁ בִּי שְׁתֵּי מִדּוֹת הַלָּלוּ), immediately Domiya"l the prince is assigned to him (מִיָּד דּוֹמִיא״ל הַשַּׂר נִזְקָק לוֹ), Gavri’el the scribe (גַּבְרִיאֵ״ל הַסּוֹפֵר), and he writes for him the scroll (וְכוֹתֵב לוֹ אֶת הַנְּיָר), in red ink (sikra) from the radiance of that person’s chariot (בְּסִיקְרָא שֶׁל כָּרוֹן שֶׁל אוֹתוֹ הָאָדָם), saying: “Such and such is the Torah of so-and-so” (לוֹמַר: כָּךְ וְכָךְ תּוֹרָתוֹ שֶׁל פְּלוֹנִי), “and such and such are his deeds” (וְכָךְ וְכָךְ מַעֲשָׂיו), and he seeks to enter before the Throne of Glory (וּמְבַקֵּשׁ לְהִכָּנֵס לִפְנֵי כִּסֵּא הַכָּבוֹד).
