Chapter 22, Section 4 (פֶּרֶק כ״ב אוֹת ד׳)

4. Rabbi Yishma’el said (ד. אָמַר רַבִּי יִשְׁמָעֵאל): Rabbi Shimon ben Gamliel was angry with me (זָעַף לִי רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן בֶּן גַּמְלִיאֵל), he said to me (אָמַר לִי): “In but a brief moment, like our vine (כִּמְעַט רֶגַע כְּגַפְנֵנוּ זֶה), Patriya"y, Hashem, God of Yisrael (פַּטְרִיאָ״י ה׳ אֱלֹקֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל)- why was this to you a deliberate mistake as if it were in error with us?” (מִפְּנֵי מָה הָיְתָה לְךָ שְׁגֶגֶת זְדוֹן עִמָּנוּ) “You thought (כְּסָבוּר), after all, that Yonatan ben Uziel is just a small person from among Israel (אַחֲרֵי שֶׁיוֹנָתָן בֶּן עוּזִיאֵל אָדָם קָטָן מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל הוּא)? What then (מַה אִם), if he came simply and stood at the entrance to the seventh Heikhal?” (סְתָם וּבָא וְעָמַד עַל פֶּתַח הֵיכָל שְׁבִיעִי)
