Chapter 34, Section 3 (פֶּרֶק ל״ד אוֹת ג׳)

3. The first of all the decrees is this-(ג. גְּזֵרָה הָרִאשׁוֹנָה מִכָּל הַגְּזֵרוֹת זוֹ): the kingdom of Gog and Magog (מַלְכוּת גּוֹג וּמָגוֹג), for all Torah and mitzvot they desire only for that moment (שֶׁכָּל תּוֹרָה וּמִצְווֹת אֵינוֹ מְבַקְּשִׁים אֶלָּא לְאוֹתוֹ שָׁעָה). For each and every one of Israel is dominated under it for five hundred and eighteen thousand years (שֶׁכָּל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל נִשְׁלָטִין בּוֹ חֲמֵשׁ מֵאוֹת וּשְׁמוֹנָה עָשָׂר אֶלֶף שָׁנָה), as it is said: “The kings of the earth set themselves” (שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר: יִתְיַצְּבוּ מַלְכֵי אֶרֶץ) (Tehillim 2:2) -in gematria, this is how much it equals (בְּגִימַטְרִיָּא הָכִי הֲוֵי).p1-1
