Chapter 36, Section 4 (פֶּרֶק ל״ו אוֹת ד׳)

4. Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? etc. (ד. מִי שָׁמַע כָּזֹאת, מִי רָאָה כָּאֵלֶּה וְגוֹ') In the beginning, the intention of the Holy One Blessed Be He (בַּתְּחִלָּה הָיְתָה דַּעְתּוֹ שֶׁל הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא) was to cause Israel to wander in the wilderness for six months (לְהַתְעוֹת אֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל בַּמִּדְבָּר שִׁשָּׁה חֳדָשִׁים), from Nisan until Tishrei (מִנִּיסָן וְעַד תִּשְׁרֵי). But once He looked upon the suffering of the Mashiach (כֵּיוָן שֶׁנִּסְתַּכֵּל בְּצַעֲרוֹ שֶׁל מָשִׁיחַ), throughout all those years (כָּל הַשָּׁנִים הָאֵלֶּה), immediately suddenly—He will come to His Sanctuary (מִיָּד פִּתְאֹם יָבוֹא אֶל הֵיכָלוֹ) (Malachi 3:1).
