Chapter 39, Section 3 (פֶּרֶק ל״ט אוֹת ג׳)
3. And this matter was by the prophecy of Hashem to Zerubavel (ג. וְהַדָּבָר הַזֶּה הָיָה בְּנְבוּאוֹת ה׳ אֶל זְרֻבָּבֶל), and my soul was greatly distressed (וַתֵּצֶר לִי נַפְשִׁי מְאֹד), and I arose and went to the head of the waters (וָאָקוּם וָאֵלֵךְ רֹאשׁ הַמַּיִם), and I appointed there a meeting for Hashem, the God of Israel (וּמוֹעֵד שָׁם לַה׳ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל), and He is the God of all flesh (וְהוּא אֱלֹהֵי כָל בָּשָׂר). And He sent His angel (וַיִּשְׁלַח מַלְאָכוֹ), and still my prayer was in my mouth (וְעוֹד תְּפִלָּה בְּפִי), and I did not cease my supplication (וְהַפֶּסֶק לֹא הִפְסַקְתִּי). And I saw that He was speaking with me all the former words (וָאֵרֶא כִּי הוּא מְדַבֵּר עִמִּי כָּל הַדְּבָרִים הָרִאשׁוֹנִים), and I knelt and prostrated before Hashem (וָאֶכְרָע וָאֶשְׁתַּחֲוֶה לַה׳). And he answered and said to me: (וַיַּעַן וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלַי:) “Ask for yourself before I go from you” (שְׁאַל לְךָ קֹדֶם אֵלֵךְ מֵעִמָּךְ). And I continued to ask him concerning the Mashiach of Hashem (וָאוֹסִיף לִשְׁאוֹלוֹ עַל מָשִׁיחַ ה׳), and I said to him: “When will Israel come?” (וָאָמַרְתִּי לוֹ: מָתַי יָבוֹא יִשְׂרָאֵל) And he answered and said to me: (וַיַּעַן וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלַי:) “As Hashem lives, who sent me, who appointed me over Israel (חַי ה׳ אֲשֶׁר שְׁלָחַנִי, אֲשֶׁר שָׂמַנִי עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל), now I will tell you the work of Hashem (וְעַתָּה אַגִּיד לְךָ מַעֲשֵׂה ה׳), for the Holy God said to me: (כִּי הָאֵל הַקָּדוֹשׁ אָמְרָם לִי:) ‘Go and make known to Zerubavel My servant that which he asks’” (לֵךְ וְהוֹדַע אֶת זְרֻבָּבֶל עַבְדִּי אֵת אֲשֶׁר יִשְׁאַֽל).
