Chapter 8, Section 4 (פֶּרֶק ח׳ אוֹת ד׳)
4. Rabbi Chanina ben Teradyon bound the crown of his kingship (ד רַבִּי חֲנִינָא בֶן תְּרַדְיוֹן קָשַׁר כֶּתֶר מַלְכוּתוֹ), and reigned over Rome (וּמָלַךְ עַל רוֹמִי), in the likeness of the face of Lupinus Caesar (כְּצוּרַת פָּנָיו שֶׁל לוּפִינוּס קֵיסָר), for six months (שִׁשָּׁה חֳדָשִׁים), and he killed six thousand governors (וְהָרַג שֵׁשֶׁת אֲלָפִים הִגְמוֹנִים), a thousand per month (אֶלֶף לַחֹדֶשׁ). And they presented the likeness of Rabbi Chanina ben Teradyon (וְהֶעֱמִידוּ בִּצְיוּרַת רַבִּי חֲנִינָא בֶן תְּרַדְיוֹן), [and] Lupinus Caesar before Rome (לוּפִינוּס קֵיסָר לִפְנֵי רוֹמִי), and they took him and cast him into fire and killed him (וּנְטָלֻהוּ וְהִשְׁלִיכֻהוּ בָּאֵשׁ וְהֵמִיתוּהוּ). And afterward the Chayot Elyon seized him (וְאַחַר כָּךְ חַיּוֹתֵיהוֹן שֶׁל מַעְלָה תָּפְשׂוּהוּ), and cast him into fire (וְהִטִּילוּהוּ בָּאֵשׁ). And with this same measure for all the ten sages of Yisrael (וּבְמִדָּה זוֹ לְכָל עֲשָׂרָה חַכְמֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל).
