Mishnah 7 (מִשְׁנָה ז׳)

Precious stones and pearls and silver and gold which David the king consecrated for the great House (אֲבָנִים טוֹבוֹת וּמַרְגָּלִיּוֹת וְכֶסֶף וְזָהָב שֶׁהִקְדִּישׁ דָּוִד הַמֶּלֶךְ לַבַּיִת הַגָּדוֹל): one thousand thousand talents of silver (אֶלֶף אֲלָפִים כִּכְּרֵי כֶסֶף), and two hundred thousand talents of gold (וּמָאתַיִם אֲלָפִים כִּכְּרֵי זָהָב). And golden trees bearing fruit (וְאִילָנוֹת שֶׁל זָהָב פְּרוּיִים שֶׁהָיוּ עוֹשִׂים פֵּרוֹת): six hundred and sixty-six myriads of talents of fine gold (שֵׁשׁ מֵאוֹת וְשִׁשִּׁים וְשֵׁשׁ רִבּוֹא כִּכְּרֵי זָהָב טוֹב), that were beneath the Tree of Life in the holy garden (שֶׁהָיָה מִתַּחַת עֵץ הַחַיִּים בְּגַן הַקֹּדֶשׁ). All these were revealed to Chilkiyah the Scribe (כָּל אֵלּוּ נִגְלוּ לְחִלְקִיָּה הַסּוֹפֵר), and he entrusted them to Shamsi'el the angel (וּמְסָרָם לְשַׁמְשִׁיאֵ״ל הַמַּלְאָךְ), that he should guard them until King David arises (שֶׁיִּשְׁמְרֵהוּ עַד שֶׁיָּקוּם הַמֶּלֶךְ דָּוִד), and he will deliver into his hand the silver and the gold (וִימְסוֹר בְּיָדוֹ הַכֶּסֶף וְהַזָּהָב), together with the gold that Shlomo dedicated (עִם הַזָּהָב שֶׁהִתְנַדֵּב שְׁלֹמֹה), and with them talents of gold and precious stones beyond valuation (וְעִמָּהֶם כִּכְּרֵי זָהָב וַאֲבָנִים טוֹבוֹת שֶׁאֵין לָהֶם דָּמִים). All these are concealed, hidden, and guarded from before the army of the Chaldeans (כָּל אֵלּוּ גְּנוּזִים וּנְסָתָרִים וּשְׁמוּרִים מִפְּנֵי חֵיל כַּשְׂדִּיִּים), in the place called Borsif (בַּמָּקוֹם הַנִּקְרָא בּוֹרְסִיף).
