The Six Lower Sefirot Constitute One Partzuf; Each of the Remaining Sefirot Is a Partzuf on Its Own

Therefore, it is said that these operations, when gazing upon existence, sometimes gaze upon all ten Sefirot when this higher power is present (עַל כֵּן נֶאֱמַר שֶׁהַפְּעֻלוֹת הָאֵלֶּה בְּהַבִּיטָם אֶל הַמְּצִיאוּת, לְפָעָמִים יַבִּיטוּ אֶל עֶשֶׂר סְפִירוֹת בִּזְמַן הִמָּצֵא הַכֹּחַ הָעֶלְיוֹן הַזֶּה), and sometimes gaze only upon their own existence—which is six Sefirot—when the higher power mentioned above is absent (וּלְפָעָמִים יַבִּיטוּ אֶל מְצִיאוּת עַצְמָם לְבַד, שֶׁהֵם ו׳ סְפִירוֹת, בְּהֵחָסֵר הַכֹּחַ הָעֶלְיוֹן שֶׁזָּכַרְתִּי).

And when we understand the levels of the ten Sefirot in general—not according to their particulars, but according to the general purpose for which they exist (וּכַאֲשֶׁר נָבִין בְּחִינַת הַמַּדְרֵגוֹת שֶׁל הָעֶשֶׂר סְפִירוֹת בַּכְּלָל, לֹא לְפִי פְּרָטִיּוּתָם, אֶלָּא לְפִי כְּלַל עִנְיָנָם שֶׁבַּעֲבוּרוֹ נִמְצְאוּ)—we find that governance itself depends upon the six lower Sefirot: three for governance, and three for its passage into Providence, as stated above (נִמְצָא שֶׁהַהַנְהָגָה בְּעַצְמָהּ תְּלוּיָה בְּשֵׁשׁ הַסְּפִירוֹת הַתַּחְתּוֹנוֹת, שְׁלוֹשָׁה לַהַנְהָגָה, וּשְׁלוֹשָׁה לַעֲבוֹרָהּ אֶל הַהַשְׁגָּחָה כְּנַ״ל). This is equal at all times: in a time of greater power and in a time of lesser power (שֶׁזֶּה שָׁוֶה בְּכָל זְמַן, בִּזְמַן הַיּוֹתֵר כֹּחַ, וּבִזְמַן הַכֹּחַ הַמְעַט).

And the three upper Sefirot are the leaders of this governance (וּשְׁלוֹשָׁה סְפִירוֹת הָרִאשׁוֹנוֹת הֵם מַנְהִיגֵי הַהַנְהָגָה הַזֹּאת), each one of them must gaze upon the entire governance to move it entirely by its will (שֶׁכָּל אֶחָד מֵהֶם צָרִיךְ שֶׁיָּבִיט אֶל כָּל הַהַנְהָגָה כֻּלָּה, לְהַנִּיעָהּ כֻּלָּה עַל פִּיו), for even judgment and mercy will be governed by Chesed through Chokhmah (כִּי אֲפִלּוּ הַדִּין וְהָרַחֲמִים יִהְיוּ מִתְנַהֲגִים לְפִי הַחֶסֶד מִצַּד חָכְמָה), and Chesed and mercy will be governed by judgment through the governance of Binah (וְהַחֶסֶד וְהָרַחֲמִים יִתְנַהֲגוּ לְפִי הַדִּין מִצַּד הַנְהָגַת בִּינָה), and likewise judgment according to the governance of mercy, which will be Keter (וְכֵן הַדִּין לְפִי הַנְהָגַת הָרַחֲמִים שֶׁיִּהְיֶה כֶּתֶר), and this is a compound, interlinked, and perfect system (וְזֶה מֻרְכָּב קָשׁוּר וְשָׁלֵם). Therefore, in each of them we discern 613, for so they gaze upon the 613 (וְלָכֵן בְּכָל אֶחָד מֵהֶם נַבְחִין תּרֵי״ג, כִּי כָּךְ הֵם מַבִּיטִים אֶל תּרֵי״ג). However, the six Sefirot together we consider as one matter, which is the governance itself (אַךְ הַשֵּׁשׁ סְפִירוֹת בְּיַחַד נַחְשֹׁב אוֹתָם כְּעִנְיָן אֶחָד, שֶׁהֵם עִנְיָן הַהַנְהָגָה עַצְמָהּ), and it is governed by the three upper ones (וְהִיא מִתְנַהֶגֶת אַחַר הַג׳ רִאשׁוֹנוֹת).

And therefore, even though it may be said that each of them gazes upon all (וְעַל כֵּן, אַף עַל פִּי שֶׁנֵּאָמַר שֶׁכָּל אֶחָד מֵהֶם יַבִּיט אֶל כֻּלָּם), behold, this is not what we need to understand and know regarding the rule of their actions (הִנֵּה אֵין זֶה מַה שֶּׁאֲנַחְנוּ צְרִיכִים לְהָבִין וְלָדַעַת דֶּרֶךְ מִשְׁפַּט מַעֲשֵׂיהֶם), for the entire governance in all its parts is understood as one unified thing (כִּי כָּל הַהַנְהָגָה בְּכָל חֲלָקֶיהָ נָבִינָה לְדָבָר אֶחָד). And the leaders of the governance we understand as those who gaze, each of them, upon the whole of it (וּמַנְהִיגֵי הַהַנְהָגָה נָבִין שֶׁיִּהְיוּ מַבִּיטִים כָּל אֶחָד מֵהֶם אֶל כֻּלָּה), for the motion flows from them to all of it (כִּי הַתְּנוּעָה נִמְשֶׁכֶת מֵהֶם אֶל כֻּלָּה). And all will be completed in providence, as you will yet hear, with the help of Heaven (וְהַכֹּל יִהְיֶה נִשְׁלָם בְּהַשְׁגָּחָה, כַּאֲשֶׁר תִּשְׁמַע עוֹד בְּסִיַּיעְתָּא דִשְׁמַיָּא).

Therefore, these six Sefirot are also called a Partzuf (וְלָכֵן אֵלֶּה הַשֵּׁשׁ סְפִירוֹת נִקְרָאוֹת גַּם כֵּן פַּרְצוּף), and this is because in themselves, among all of them-they either gaze upon themselves alone when not receiving influence from the three upper ones (וְהוּא כִּי הֵם מִצַּד עַצְמָם בֵּין כֻּלָּם – אוֹ יַבִּיטוּ אֶל עַצְמָם כְּשֶׁאֵינָם מְקַבְּלִים הִתְפַּעֲלוּת מִן הַג׳ רִאשׁוֹנוֹת), when the Emanator does not act within them, and they perform from the 613 only those parts which reach them (שֶׁאֵין הַמַּאֲצִיל פּוֹעֵל בָּהֶם, וְיַעֲשׂוּ מַה שֶּׁיַּעֲשׂוּ מִן הַתּרֵי״ג רַק חֲלָקִים הַמַּגִּיעִים לָהֶם), or they receive motion also from the three upper ones (אוֹ יְקַבְּלוּ הַתְּנוּעָה מִן הַג׳ רִאשׁוֹנוֹת גַּם כֵּן), and then the power of the upper three who move them is added within them (וְאָז נוֹסַף בָּהֶם כֹּחַ הַג״ר אֵלֶּה הַמְּנִיעִים אוֹתָם), and then in them alone will be the quality of 613: some parts according to their own essence, and some according to what they receive from the upper ones (וְאָז יִהְיֶה בָהֶם לְבַדָּם בְּחִינַת תּרֵי״ג, שֶׁיִּהְיוּ חֲלָקִים מֵהֶם לְפִי עִנְיָנָם, וַחֲלָקִים לְפִי מַה שֶּׁהֵם מְקַבְּלִים מִן הָרִאשׁוֹנִים). And providence likewise will be equal to all existence, for it is made according to all of existence
